A Word of Cheer

Im just a poem on a block of wood, I would talk and play as you do if I could, But I have to stay here day and night, And never grow in width or height. My auther says she put me here to give all a word of cheer.

Nature Knows Not

Oh, nature!
Who hath seen thee
but admiring eyes
Why doth thou not
speak of thy own
beauty?
Hath thou no voice?
The tiger knows not
of her beautiful
stripes
Nor can the horse
contemplate the
grace of his
stride
And no autumn was
ever heard boasting
of her splendid
colors
Surely the earth
in her mysterious
path through the
heavens will regale
us with shameless
self praise
Or perhaps the rainbow
will whisper in our
ears the secrets of
her prismatic colors
Yet creation is given
no tongue with which
to speak and lives
as a blind man who
cannot behold his
reflection in a
glass
But weep not my
beloved sun, moon,
and stars..
For I have eyes to
see, ears to hear,
and a mouth with
which to speak
And I will voice
praises for you
I will listen for
what you cannot hear
And I will see myself,
in your still ponds
for I am a wandering
rebel..
and there is none
like me~

A truckers thoughts on road in night

A truckers thoughts

The motor encoder a yearning sound,
I long for the home.
I sit bag steering my truck with a trailer a bit too heavy.
it's all

mil after mil in an endless road
The night my love long without you,
a radion plays a country song
it sounds like it's singing about you.
mil after mil car rolleing on
a Honk the horn in a friend driving by.

in comradion hear a voice so sweet,
You are there, it's us. you hear me.
. com into me dear I'm here

A tear on his face fall down,
think about my love to me calling me.
I will say I love and miss you. my dear

Now I'm on, custom road
Delivers paper must creep is rapid in the night.
so did I wait for the next day.
Hooray, I will come home to you.

Now it was the dist on the road again.
i must stop and take some coffee.
Keeping me awake, stopping a place
find some space and talk to
the other drivers on their sites

at truck stop
I get no ferry in time so I'm calling you
so tomorrow I first arrive.
give me a hug a kiss good night's sleep
good night

Diffused with superlative dreams…

I had such high hopes,
I was diffused with such superlative dreams,
I started out ‘riding the crest of the wave’ in life,
A virgin in potent waters,
I was adorned with splendor and majesty,
As I set out on my voyage…

Life immediately immersed me in regal company,
Although ragamuffins were also sporadically on the scene,
Balls and finery were my lot from the get-go of my young life,
Fear, angst, and melancholy and terror were concepts I could not possibly comprehend,
Every one enjoyed me, everyone admired and adored me,
As I viewed my fellows, I saw laughter and serenity and joviality and eager expectancy for better things to come, as we together navigated the stars of our new adventure,
I saw the nobility of the human spirit shine bright all around me,
And I thought, how blessed I was to be in such company…

Abruptly, though, something dark and sinister ripped open my young heart and left me mortally wounded,
It took me a while, inexperienced soul as I was, for me to realize the depths I was about to sink to,
But, I was among stately company, and although we were all in a weighty, sinking kind of danger, I expected the company I was in would fair well, they would share, they would with valor and dignity bare the encumbrance that fate had dealt us…

Well, yes, there were many things displayed that fateful and historic night of our ordeal,
I witnessed all the human emotions and conditions,
From a quiet acceptance to unparalleled dread,
From shameful cowardice to inspiring unselfishness,
Some went insane from the trauma, others rose to notable enlightenment…,
And, of course, I witnessed the inconsolable sadness of newfound love being shattered by the cavernous maw of the grave…

Yes, in one night I aged several millennia,
Many books and acts would be written and done in my name in generations to come,
And, yes, I am now known to the world,
As…
The tragic soul of the Titanic…

What We Trust In Our Hearts

Caught once again in the current of a shifting tide
Helpless and hopeless I will hang on for the ride
Life's a series of choices only we can decide
So let our inner consciousness be our guide
Remember what happens when two worlds collide
Be careful whatever and to whomever we confide
Or we could find ourselves going on a crazy hayride
And it really won't always be a good joyride
So be extra careful what we think we feel inside
Consider thoughfully all the upsides and downsides
Sometimes it's not so bad to be careful and hide
What we trust in our hearts: Only love can provide

Longing for You

How many days will slip by
Sand through an hourglass
Seperated one from another
One tiny grain at a time
Onto a vast seashore
Will my hour ever chime
How significant am I?

Needful Things

Through the fog
of this lower
world the candle
of truth
illuminates an
uncertain and
dangerous path
because..
it is needful
For eyes dim
with fear and
doubt are the
gifts of
darkness..
Along this path
voices taunt
from within
and without
Accusing eyes
pierce the mist
and the soul
longs to be
awakened from
this sleepless
journey because..
it is needful
The fruits of
this foreign
land do not
nurish forever
There is no
tree of life
rooted in
dying soil
But its decaying
leaves smile
with hope as
they fall
silently
There is nothing
here but endless
trails
trails that lead
anywhere
nowhere..
because..it is
needful
Sigh, breathe
deep
hang your head
but keep
moving
In time, in
due time
the sundial
will be robbed
of its
shadow
and a new kind
of light will
emerge
because..
it is needful..
And when purpose
and reason have
fulfilled its
destiny
Then shall wisdom
be summoned
home
Then shall false
knowledge be
made to give
an account
Then those held
captive by reason
of darkness
Sit free in the
newness of
themselves
And if anyone
of these asks,'
Why have these
things been
ordered so..'
No harsh words
will they hear
But a kind voice
will say to
them..
because..
These were
needful things~

Allegory

We’re estranged from each other, live on separate isles in the ocean of life,
We're destined to live on our own with waters enclasping the isles.
We’re drifting farther apart, by God's will we have lost our ties.
The watery plain lies between,in the ocean of life we’re enisled.

Secrets Of The Day

I hear that life has no reason
Telling lies like I want to believe
There's no room here for pleasing
And no time to explain what I mean.

Burning bright all through the night now
For today I will lead the way
Burning bright it's time to find out
The secrets of the day.

I see the days with detection
Of a time that has fallen for me
With the love of perfection
Until then I am down on my knees

I hear that life has a reason
And today I just want to believe.

A Brighter Day

She fell asleep one quiet dawn
And awoke to a brighter day
In the Land of Fresh Beginnings
With the pain all swept away.

As her eyes went wide with wonder
And her understanding grew,
For she stood in God's meadow
Green and fresh and wet with dew.

And her ears pricked quickly forward
As a voice spoke soft and low
Saying, "Welcome to my stable
I have called you here, you know".

"For I saw that you were weary,
And I sought to end your fear,
So I brought you to my meadow
There is nothing frightening here".

"You may roam across my pastures,
You may run or you may rest,
And old friends wait here to greet you,
Down the meadow to the West".

Then the mare's head went up gaily,
And she nickered eagerly,
As though calling someone to her,
And she pranced excitedly.

And the golden sun's reflection
Gave her coat a copper hue,
And she paused for just a moment
By a pool so clear and blue.

Then the mare who used to tremble
Felt a calmness fill her soul
As she started down the meadow
-And beside her walked a foal.
