He was chasing the white dragon
as he sat puffing on his hubby bubbly
soon he was afloat in a world of dreams
not a care in the world for his family
who would, again, go hungry this night
He sat squandering his and their lives
carried of into obliquity by the heroin
his two daughters crying with hunger
still he puffed on, lost, lost to them all
consumed by the white fiery dragon
An addict to the power of the drugs
forever lost to their grasping clutch

If i was a mermaid I would frolic
on the white crested waves
appearing from the shore comic
then plunging down to the caves
Sunbathe on the warm rocks
diving down out of sight
so as not to give any shocks
nor frighten humans into flight
My voice so golden entices
if they follow a watery grave
will keep them in its clutches
until they are now enslave
Beauty of the oceans wide
pearl necklace I do wear
shells and seaweed applied
I don my translucent nightwear
As I travel the oceans like a flash
yet another heart or three I captor
although they struggle and thrash
I place them safe in my ardor
So warn your men least they stray
to wear a blindfold and mufflers
and to walk only on the causeway
only thus can they avoid my amors

Impress me
Don't try to impress me I know you all to well
the market trader look when planning a deal
I just know you are trying weighing the odds
to pull a fast one over some poor sucker
The sheepish look when you have cheated
flowers and chocolates by the score
tiredness the excuse as you roll away
so don't try to impress me my dear
Yet you being a great father and friend
goes a long way towards forgiving you
the loving way you help others in need
all of this is what impresses me the most

Homage to Kipling
Do you ever ponder on the purpose of life?
wonder why things turn out the way they do?
ever look back and think I did that wrongly?
then go and make exactly the same mistake?
("If you can dream- and not make dreams your master
If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:")
What is the purpose of us even being on this planet?
Will our actions live on once we are gone from here?
Or like a breeze floating past will we just vanish?
Like the early dawn mists burnt off by the sun?
What will you teach your children about this coil?
Will you guide them well? make them fine citizens?
Leaving them to be your legacy of a life well spent?
They say a butterfly's wings beating changes the weather
All I know is strive to do right and be kind to all
To put others first before I choose a path in life
("Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!")

The raindrops beat a rhythm
on the window pane
the clouds crush close
in bunches.
The sky is grey
with unspoken thoughts
the wind stirring
ghostly voices.
The cows are silent
with watchful eyes
the trees a solemn
monument.
Restless thoughts
wander through my brain
and disappear in the crannies.

one night the death pushed the door and said:
-its time to follow me now, venerable master..
master oshiba retorted:
-may I leave the door open ,compassionate death ?
and the death closed the door and went out..

My necklace fell away
It's twine worn thin from wear
I looked down in dismay
At each knot tied with care
Each bead was attentively chosen
To compliment my disposition
Could it be fixed? Tied again
Suddenly i felt a change in position
How long would it stay?
How long would it hold true?
I wondered thoughtfully as it lay,
I thought of feelings of you
A tide of Symbolism fell upon me
As i held it to me near
I realized those feeling of maybe
Were just hiding realizations i fear
Fear of loosing something
That had already been long lost
Fear of replacing my lonely longing
with an actuality unbeknownst
I smiled as the veil fell away.
The one that filtered all but you.
No longer is my heart under your sway
It's Amazing! as i let others through
I looked at the Necklace once more,
Astonished to see what i now held.
Grimy twine from being proudly wore
Beads, Industrial machines had meld
No longer carrying aroma's of frankincense,
Instead, stink, sweat and smoke remain
Suddenly it made a surreal sense
Fixing what cannot be fixed is inane.

There once existed a very shallow sea
Now lying in a desert of shifting sands
Footprints made 570 million years ago
By who knows what kind of wandering bands
A set of lonely tracks two parallel lines
Staggered in rock and recorded in time
It really is all sort of rather sublime
Yesterday I walked through fresh snow
Down came some freezing rain to fill
The depressions made along a path precise
Today the wind blew and everything froze
And my footprints were now cast in ice
So what all does this mean I suppose
I really don’t know as I put into prose

About this poem:
Whose were more important mine or the oldest recorded footprints ever? Well, I don't really think mine will be around quite so long...but they looked cool anyway. :))

This thinking game
has tired me out
When it's all
thought through
I'm left with
doubt
Between the beginning
and end I'm lost
in the middle
Could love be the
answer to this
timeless riddle?

A Poet is ....
Like a painter
Who brings out
From a plain canvas
Such beauty
Like a branch
Of a tree
Of many colors
And make the most
Beautiful flower
With great purpose
To share with
The whole world.
