To A Cricket

Little cricket,little cricket Praytell me your happy tale,Or is it a sad one,my cricket hiden behind a vail. I cannot see you,little cricket. But I hear your sad or marry song. Oh if I only knew my cricket, The meaning of your singing quite long. You sit there day and night, little cricket rubbing together your wing. How little you seem,mycricket. How mono to monus to me you sing. But still,little cricket in rythm until your three. You are small my little cricket,But still large in my mind. Your song by ours is as fine.

Jellyfish

Embedded image from another site

Floating about
effortlessly
red dome with tentacles
unbounded sea

Crystal red jelly
sea nettle lions mane
protecting yourself
stinging spines
burning most everything

Jellyfish
in water of light
sparkling dome bubbling

Floating among shoals of fish
red flame pulsing
the seas medusa
waves gently move you

Sea water shine
leaving no trace
sea cardinal
shiny as steel

Water at edge
float by my feet
may you have safe passage tonight
sea sage of silky movement
ever changing shapes...

~Sabled~

Hooves at the mark where salt waters crest
Bounty of yore, with bounty a more
Sand laden beach gates as host of the land
Sable they call it, made of wave thrown up sand.

Their manes horizontal upon galloping wind
In stride throwing up what their hoof takes away
Wild they remain to this day.......legislate
In 1737 this story began, horses shipped over
Never knowing their fate.

Free as the wind was the means to embark
Colonial settlers left it all, left their mark!

Deported to the island 60 horses or so
Joining the ranks of the ones first arrived
Acadians were asked to leave the east coast
All they took was a pack on a stick at their back.

A graveyard of ships since they built them to float
Three fifty and counting, more like a moat.

Sable continues to this day that we are
The Horses they run, they are wild and free
The ships that were headed to their now journeyed end
In list on one side upon Sables sand bar.

Rainy Day

The rain fell relentlessly
falling down in curtains
blocking things from view
cloaking the world in mist

Trees with near streams
running of their leaves
silvery puddles forming
joining together with others

An incessant sound of drips
drumming out all other noise
then a gleam of hope appears
as the sun weakly starts to shine

It bursts through the clouds
drying up all the landscape
droplets on leaves glisten
perfect prisms reflecting

Watching through

She sang upon to me
and I thought
the guest was me

Entertained for moments
seeking that view
as all that was so cool

He sat and bent
reached the flower
and we clicked

pic the fool

yet got him
on the stool

sucking morning
to rest his mind

we watched as
his baubles

bent in crown

To whisk away
the wings
of sound

lightning strike

in the grand theatre
opening in the Heaven,s
drifting across the sky,
cloaked in darkness

whistling unseen voices
darkened within rage,
nature's forces
at work
rising wind salute

in static
hair raising
falling down the spine
banging drums
growling almighty roars

grumbling unforeseen forces
churning in it's might,
an earth shattering clap
applauding trees bend
wind blowing gale

lighting up dark
bowing to light
in strike daylight
unmerciful power

battle in darkened clouds
alight candy floss
falling rain crystals
in sparkling diamonds
lightning strikes

as the thunder roars
frightening night
rumbling drum beats
upon nature's might
you strike

Deserts

Vast dust bowls surrounding the land
barren bearly suporting an life
Stark and so bleak, just sand
sand as far as you can see

Wicked winds churning up
the forever changing canvass
reforming the dune hills
maps little use to you here

Watch the Grecko lizard
as he dashes over the sand
his feet barely touching
then dives deep down

Harsh and Relentless
yet with a stark beauty
that some how pacifies
Life needs these adversities

It is on them that nature thrives
all we can do is onwards strive

Collection of Haiku's

Eagles spinning down
as together they tumble
locked in combat

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The stars and the moon
together dance to the sun
worshiping all life
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The chorus of birds
rings out joyfully at dawn
celebrating life

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Waves crash on the shore
foam bubbling as they recede
back to the vast ocean
almost forgot..........
i found a spot behind my shed
where early morn sun greets garden bed
upon my make do rainwater tank
i climbed and sat on a timber plank
my back against the shed did rest
while the suns rays did caress
squeezing the chill from my core
saturating with warmth galore
it wasn't long before i knew
my time there was overdue
and spring had sprung another surprise
to covet the norths winter disguise
a little early i'd like to say
means summers not so far away
and those long hot days i envy not
while winters here i'd almost forgot.......
Leopard
Motionless the big cat waits
deep in the scrub shadows
sun starting to set, night draws in
fading light makes her invisible
Only the odd flick of an ear
that gives her position away
suddenly she tenses and coils
a spurt of speed and its done
She and her cubs will eat tonight
softly the mother leopard calls
with a few rustles of undergrowth
they tumble into the moonlight
Furry balls of fun without a care
they belly up to the deer carcass
a few more weeks learning the ropes
then a solitary life awaits them all
Of the four she now has with her
maybe one will make it through
struggling with the strife of living
whilst fighting to rear her own cubs
For now they are safe and well tended
with a soft cry she takes them back
to her well hidden clifftop cave
they are all safe for yet another day
