Train Journey

I sit here by the window
and watch quietly
as the train moves along
Outside
I see land -
wild beautiful land
still untouched by man
and it creates within me
a feeling of freedom
that is wild and boundless

The beautiful trees
in many places
so closely clustered together
though of mixed species
seem to cry out
a message of love and unity
to all mankind
I see flowers -
plain simple flowers
there is a beauty in them -
the beauty of simplicity

There are children on the hillsides -
the country folk
people call them
My heart sings as I watch
They know us not on the train
but yet they wave at us
and we wave back at them
because their action is filled
with some sentiment
that is pleasing to us

Shimmering little pools of water
pulsating with life
appear and then vanish
out of sight
but the picture of life
within them
remains with me

The cows and the horses
graze in the pastures
some sit
others browse slowly along
O how I envy their leisurely
pace of life!

Life and Reality

Life and a living being
can never be separated
See one
and you see the other
Destroy one
and you destroy the other
Pluck a flower from a tree
and dissect it
to understand it
You no longer have that flower
as it existed
on the tree
You may have an understanding
of the relationship
between the components
of a dead flower
but you will have forever lost
the totality of the experience
of the LIVING flower
To see the flower
in its completeness
BECOME THE FLOWER
and understand a reality
that can only be experienced
but can never be put into words
for the whole is more than
the sum of its parts

About this poem:
Poetic Prose

I wrote this piece after reading a comparison of the eastern and western perspectives, by D.T. Suzuki, a Zen Buddhist, on a similar phenomenon.
A Japanese haiku poet, Basho, was walking along a country road when he noticed a wildflower blooming by the hedge. Tennyson, an English poet, observed a flower growing in a crevice in a wall. There is a marked contrast in their reactions.
Basho observes the flower, as it is, in its full beauty and composes a haiku to express his feeling. Tennyson, plucks the flower and holds it in his hand in his attempt to 'understand' it.
Basho sees the 'living' flower and feels its essence as a living thing. He 'becomes' the flower. Tennyson 'kills' the flower thereby seeking to understand a 'dead' flower, devoid of life.
"Life and a living being(thing) can never be separated".

A Single Lonely Cloud Floating By

A single lonely cloud floating by
casting a small shadow on the ground
a shadow that changes as the cloud
is twisted and altered by a breeze

As it slowly moves on, it shape shifts
now a swan but wait a fiery chariot
that thunders by, a forest in the sky
mountains and houses, even a lake

The wind strengthens blowing more
clouds to combine into a shiny city
icicles hang down forming diamonds
that glitter and sparkle in the sunshine

A single lonely cloud floating by
captures my imagination setting it afire
filling me with wonder as I watch it
put on its own spectacular solitary show

TuRninG Green To green

Turning Green to green

Humans are becoming blinds, the eyes only wishing to see green
The God too loves green and so the humans are loving the same.

The soul is right by humans and no question to Gods, but
Humans green is not perishable and no value of Gods green.

I was quick to realize I am inclining towards humans "green",which made my life suffers.

But no one cares of Gods"green" and now God is waiting for his turn
And at last we failed to realized and should love Gods"green"................

Poems from my Youth: (1) - I Live

I live
When in wonder
I look around me
And behold
The Beauty of Nature

I live
When in Quietude
I lay down
And contemplate
Beauty in Life

I live
When I see
An act of Love
No matter how small
It may be

I live
When in meditation
I am transported to a world
Where Truth and Beauty
Reign supreme

Eternity

When I taste the last smell of the evening
Firmament is embracing me with glamour
The moon is giving me a mute smile
And says – you are the star
Taste the smells

When I can hear a concert of a wild bush
Trees are hugging me with the sun’s rays
And the golden melody
Is whispering with lively voice
Taste the sounds of music

When I am climbing to the top of a mountain
Floated by clouds over the earth’s landscape
Sweat is flooding my eyes with tears of happiness
And the wind is whistling
Taste the beauty

When my body is sad and my hand is longing
I am leading it to the stream of warmth
Running it on the velvet of tenderness
Approaching its desire
Taste the touch

When I am kindling a passion in my heart
I am grasping an ordinary day with a smile
And want to be loved
I feel happiness because
I am tasting love

When I enjoy every minute
Staying in undisturbed nirvana
Time is knocking at the door
To remind me:
Taste your life

When eternity comes
It will take away my taste
Take back the consciousness
And will order:
Enjoy eternal life

Hanging out where exactly
It's not supposed to go
Wild carding the future
In full frame slow mo.

That waters passed under many a bridge
With stirred mud from the bottom
Waved ridge gliding tops
Each wave out of water ran aground with a flop.

I guess there's an editor to all aspects of life
In single file they go down
To the initiating one
Does it go in full circle
Or linear line run

To A Tree

In Olive there is a tree I know perfict, strait and just so. Like a clean minded person with a life so high it towerd prowdly in the sky. It was plain that old tree, but yet beautyful to see. When I saw it my chest filled with pride And each time it was more beautyful to my eyes. I travled that road one day and before me Olive lay,And when it came in sight my eyes streached in vain. Lest that old dear dear old tree so plain. But I saw nothing towering agianst the sky. As I looked in wonder tears came to my eyes,That dear old tree was gone forever. But it shall never leave my peaceful mind, no never.

burning tree

The sun was so hot the wind
was like fire.
I couldn't sleep you awakened my desires.
Went thru my mind unlocking a mystery
why am I burnt and tired
will I rise or will I turn to ash
without love and fruits of the tree of life
will I remain in state of wonder.
or will find peace and place where the tree that burnt has
come back to life to shelter and protect me and
Give me sweet fruit to replenish and share with you
in a new dawn as the sun hits our faces.

Bird Songs (sonnet)

Listen when you awake at crack of dawn
hear the chorus of all the birds singing
watch them as they scurry and dig the lawn
until a nasty cat sends them fleeing

How dull and bland without any birds
silence would greet us with it's bleakness
less colour everywhere, half mast halyards
how lucky to have birds to add brightness

So many feathered friends around
delighting us with their wonderful songs
the sound of harmony our souls surround
for the sweet mellifluous songs prolongs

Tunes everywhere blending in harmony
sweetly combining sounding like honey
