Little Honey Bee

Little honey bee
flying wild and free
sees flowers all around
now he's homeward bound

About this poem:
This is with out a doubt my shortest poem to date, simple in context the little bee gathers all the nectar from the flowers then returns back to the hive, job completed.

Trees (haibun)

Watch and listen carefully.
There, do you hear the stirring?
Wander over and move the bracken
see the hedgehog scurry away,
now fat and sleepy

Tall pines are waving
as the gentle breeze blows
branches are dancing

Aromatic scent of their wood
floods the valley, everything
smelling so fresh from the tang.
Birds sing out in happiness
perching high up in the canopy.

The mighty oak who's
heavily laden acorns
crash down to the ground

Squirrels quickly gather them up
to store for winter hiding them
in hollow trunks and small cracks.
Then tuck themselves up
in their dreys to hibernate

Horse chestnut ripens
swelling up in fruition
kernels taste so sweet

Now the hot chestnut sellers
stand by their braziers
toasting the nuts
passing them out in
brown paper bags,
watch the child tossing one
from hand to hand
impatient for them to cool

Ash stately stands guard
over the silent churchyard
no trespassing here

Well tended graves
nestle under its canopy
crosses and angels standing watch too,
a quiet place to come and reflect.

Yew so poisonous
keeps the animals at bay
protecting the graves

Wisdom and Knowledge

a cup may contain water
but it is not the water

words may point to the truth
but they are not the truth

form may express the essence
but it is not the essence

knowledge may lead to wisdom
but it is not wisdom

having knowledge is being intellectual
having wisdom is being intelligent

knowledge deals with the parts
wisdom deals with the whole

the whole is more than the sum of the parts
wisdom is more than knowledge

A Gentle Breeze

A gentle breeze flowing through the trees.
Feels so Peaceful, yet Powerful.
I could almost fall to my knees.

Sun so bright, no rain in sight.
A gentle breeze flies through my hair.
Taking away all of my cares.
Nothing else compares.

A gentle breeze feels so good against my
face and skin. Hear the birds sing, as the
branches sway and bend. A gentle breeze
against the sky, as I watch the lovely
clouds pass by.

A gentle breeze sent softly from above. This
Whisper I hear touches my soul, reminding
me that, YES, I AM LOVED!

The day is Beautiful with singing birds,
changing leafs and sunshine galore. I
believe along with the gentle breeze, who
could ask for anything more.

About this poem:
This is one of the first poems I ever wrote. I chose to post it because it is my favorite and I wanted to share. I like it because it is positive and feels nice. Also, my computer crashed, so I've done little writing. I need prayer for my Uncle who is very ill and myself who has to go back for more testing. Miss all of you. Hope you enjoy this write and thank you. Bless You! Hugz,Pink.

All Colours Are In

Colour floods this world of ours
everywhere it bursts and flows out
as it rains the colours reflect
in bands of yellows, reds and blues

Violet, orange, greens and indigo
making such a colourful splash
if you are lucky at its end
a pot of silver and gold awaits

Vibrant hues colour the forests
with shades of emerald and amber
our lakes sparkle in blue and white
as its waters tumble over the rocks

Lush flowers adorn the gardens
striped with natures pallet
trumpet bulbs of purple and red
each vying with its neighbour

A world without colour so gloomy
made of blacks, browns and greys
muted and drab they drain life away
leaving a world much too empty

Pastels bring back our hopes
as they lend themselves to nature
after all it is on this her canvas
that she paints her own picture

Hush

Sun rising, very slowly
Through the mountain notch
Where mist hangs over
Yellow birches watch
‘Till long autumn nights
Chill the air
Their leaves will fall

Looking up, flocks of geese
Sounded through the valley
Shattering the peace
An urgency for beating
All their wings
Fly in V-formation
Then be gone

Falling apples, make a bruise
Soft rotting smells
Attract the bees
For miles around
With much expertise
Suck in their mouths
The sweet juicy ooze

Shrieking loudly, on a twig
The startled blue jay
Dance a jig and flirt
Feet tightly frizz
Banner ‘blue and grey’
Sounding the alarm
Intruder alert!

Waterfalls, running over
The slippery ledge
Granite covered green
With carpets of moss
Growing down the ledge
Under canopy of
Glowing colored leaves

Winter, coming early
Long shadows grow
Birches are now bare
Before the first snow
Enters hurly-burly
Whispers its wind
A final, ‘Hush’

Fall Is In The Air

Breathe in the crisp, cool air. All around fall is everywhere. Sit on your porch in your rocking chair. Look around at all the colors of the trees. Red, brown and yellow. Sit back relax and be mellow.

Build a stack of leafs and run to jump into them. It's almost like a pool, but way more cool. Play around outside. Kids like to go hide. The fun of the season brings such joy, especially for every girl and boy.

Along with the fun is laughter and happiness. The sun does caress. It will be evening and the day will end soon in a most beautiful way, because there will shine a full moon.

Yes, fall is upon us, so let's enjoy this time of the year. Wishing you all Blessings, Love and Cheer.

Nature Portraits 1 - Waterfall, Thunderstorm

The thunderous roar of a mighty waterfall
cascading down in huge torrents of liquid fury
smashing into the water below
creating mists of water droplets
that transform the sunlight into a rainbow

The awesome power of a thunderstorm at night
with jagged bolts of lightning
that split the darkness
and light up the surroundings
with blinding dazzling intensity

red squirral

Inbetween the graves
The red squirral dash
Collecting the nuts she buriued the fall before
Tenderly she sit on her hind feet

Licking her lips to feast on her treat
Watching knowing she being watch ed
And her watching you
On the look out for flying birds
Watching for owls birds of prey

After eating her tasty nut she merrily scampers up a tree
Hares playing fighting some
With babies
Night falls they scurry home
Into their burrows babies in

They nesttle together
To keep the outside out
Temperture rising to keep night out
Waiting for the mornig dew

The light shine into the burrow out pops the hare running about
Down from the trees scampers the red squirral

morning breakfast to find
A new day is born and new life in the burrow

La Neige

Crystal flakes of gentle measure
tingle on my tongue
Just like the way if felt when
I was oh so very young.
The sun is bright,my breath is cold-
it comes out like a cloud...
Dancing , disappearing far above
the crystal shrouds.
The blankets softly decorate the hills
and winsome trees
In silent adoration of the glory
of the freeze.
I close my eyes-stand very still
enraptured in delight;
And soon the diamonds in the sky
have ushered in the night.
The beauty of the evening gently
soothes my naked soul,
Just like the ones that came before
in ancient days of old.
Resplendent in her flowing grace,
eternal she goes on-
In humble honor do I bow
before the great beyond.
