Cosmic Reality

In the perspective of infinite time
and infinite space
the natural order prevails
there are no problems
only the absolute and ultimate reality
of the cosmos

In A Hollow Tween

Cast adrift your broken web still flutters
Now the dew has become a patterned frost
Hanging down off the ol' clacking shutters
One flapping loudly back and forth is tossed

Barn has gone unpainted another year
Tractor parked quiet in an open bay
Green cat eyes from beneath the hay bales peer
Its shaggy winter coat all tufted gray

Quiet now only the cold breeze echo
Its hollow and dry humming sounds sneer
Moving like waves down the browned grass meadow
Waiting for that first snowfall to appear

The sun slips quickly past the horizon
A scarecrow stands all tattered and wizened

blooms end

Blossoms of fiery colors lifting souls, far beyond ourselves as there beauty quells our off-time sighs. Now all but gone as the stillness of the chill creeps in. plants of summer withering into the depth of winters grace awaiting for the white blankits embrace. Leaves falling in awesome silence to bearen ground awaiting much needed rest. The chills of night and cold winds of day guess winter is well on its way.

The Tree

I have searched the forest to find your maturity
When I came upon you
I knew you were solid and true
You have always been here
Rooted to this place
Even so, I feel freedom within your embrace
I run my hand over your rough brown skin
My eyes lovingly caress your sinuosity
I look at you from your trunk to your end
My head must reach the endless sky to take you all in
I listen as the wind composes a song with you its instrument
I breathe deeply, inhaling your rich scent
I lay against your strength, my new best friend

Mavricks

Mysterious is the ocean,
Waves are seething forward toward the beach,
I see them in the distant so high they reach the sky,

I wonder what the surfers think as they paddle out to the horizon,
To ride the Mavericks as high as the sky.
And guide on thru the pipeline to the setting sunset,

To take it to the other side to ride "The Mavricks". to the end!
Be safe the surfers so sure they will do it again!

The Beauty of Falling Leaves!

The Beauty of Falling Leaves!

Fluttering in the wind floating from the sky

Dancing from here to there, a ballerina opus orchestrating a sonata for you and I

A masterpiece of art, artistic intermingled
colors, brushing lovingly upon canvas skins of awe

Vibrant gold and rustic red images painted by nature, it’s glorious leaves of fall

Yellows and brown leaves fading on the ground

Squirrels scratching beneath them burying their nuts

Wild things preparing for winter, birds flocking to fly away and not be back till Spring

Chipmunks scurrying, excitement everywhere

Oh! What a loving Fall, There’s nothing to compare!

Oh to be an artist and paint them for you to view

I am but a humble Poet, wishing that I could paint them Too!

Watching the falling leaves from my picture window!

Oh! How Beautiful the View!

AUTUMN

Another season of color,
Unto is such and there is no other.
To see those leaves fall,
Under our feet the winter will call.
Many days and nights are so cool,
Now those kids, yeah, back to school.

Cliffhanger

Weakened by the storms crossing my path
Strongest roots exposed as soil awashed
Leaning from a cliff, held only by an outcrop
Will I shudder in the cold of a cloudless night?
Or will I bake in the heat of the midday sun?

Quickly next to me you sprouted, grew!
Your branches in a flash caressing mine
You towered above my height oh so very fast
You sheltered my being with the shadow you cast
Entwined our roots now firmly on ground

Each wind that blows, that bends you; bends me
Each flood that suffocates your roots, suffocates me
Each twig plucked off you is protection robbed of me
Each branch broken is a branch that won't touch mine
Our roots entwined, take yours away and you take mine

no title

it was a rose with no petals
laughing at a thorn with no blood
for my soul was red as Autumn
a sea holding dreams of the moon
echoes in the tide will say
written in miles and miles of sand

In the Wake of Typhoon

I wrote this late last year and rather than write another, I thought I will re-post / edit it. For my people back home...

In The Wake of Typhoon Bopha
(c)gtp2012

Beaten and battered once more,
Last year by typhoon Bopha
And now furious Yolanda
Each year nineteen or so of these
Are headed to my Philippines
About six to nine of them
Make landfall, bringing havoc
In the heart of my paradise
Causing floods, taking lives!

Seven thousand one hundred and seven
Glistening and diverse islands
Each with her own unique beauty
Separated by waters
Food, dialects and ways
Within us beats one heart
Pusong Pinoy, no matter where!
Mother Nature's wrath unleashed
Through Yolanda's force and speed!

The greediness of a few
Has depleted her resources
With money in their hearts
Senses numbed, eyes blinded
Massive landslides, mudslides
Flooded homes awashed
Love ones all a-perished!
How many more have to go?

Yet you my people will take this
On your chin, with a grin
never complaining, never grumbling
Resilient to the core you will,
With a smile on your faces wear
As families a new life forge!
