THE OCEAN AT NIGHT

Tranquility comes from star gazing amid sounds of the ocean
inescapable awe is certain to stir up a soulful emotion
Unforgettable defines spending an evening together ocean side
romance a moonlit evening sky is meant to provide

Choppy waves seemingly piggyback one another on way to shore
watching the Whitecaps glow under dark night never a bore
Crashing rhythm of the Sea crashing beach symbolic of relaxing song
more than one claimed it's healing when things are going wrong

The glisten atop the still Gulf waters never loses it's visual appeal
on clear nights Natures illuminated sky can make heaven seem real
Cool white sand cradles your back as you stare up at vast starry sky
all of a sudden out of nowhere a lone shooting star streaks by

When a breeze is present your nose gets a taste of ocean smell
you may even picture this being a place you'd love to dwell
The silence that envelopes the dark deep Ocean can be haunting
knowing deadly prey lurk beneath the dark waters a bit daunting

'The Ocean at Night' seems to surface thoughts of the spiritual kind
a faint whisper from Nature saying one day I'll free your mind
Beaches adjacent to every oceans edge are the Universes creation
keeping them all free from ruin a must... not just expectation

Sea Fever

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.

WAKING LAND

Cloaked in thick mist, wait dawn
Sunshine heats, so land is born
Gradual clearing, visually behold
Defined valley, kiwi farming gold

Where water lies, heavy mist covers
Dispelled by sunshine, protective lover
Keeps mystique, romantically alive
In sleeping darkness, life thrives

Inlet of harbor, river-valley-runs
Waiting dawn, when rays of sun
Engulfed by dense, ghost-like-shroud
Keeps land safe, later stands proud

A secret land, where floating mist
Wispy shimmers, as rivers twist
Waiting sunshine, summers day
When land revealed, in nature's way

MARIJUANA

Marijuana entered my world the first time at Twelve years old
the best stuff I recall smoking was literally the color Gold
It's about damn time those seeking relief are now legally able
despite medicinal benefits it wont negate it's negative label

It should be legalized for personal use NOW opposed to later
having no personal knowledge shouldn't make you such a hater
Our Nation preaches it's about freedom but deny adults their choice
let the country vote so "We the People" can be the deciding voice

Let's demonize Marijuana while continuing to let alcohol devastate
whats right about those ignorant about Cannabis deciding it's fate
The most fallacious remark about pot is it leads to other drug abuse
TOTAL BULLSHIT that has long been oppositions ONE go to excuse

If it's born naturally from this Earth government shouldn't have any say
America incessantly overstepping their bounds is simply their unjust way
Why not ease stress for the millions who know Marijuana is actually alright
The 'freedom' to inhale marijuana should be every mature adults right!

DEAD RED

LIGHTING DISPERSED ITSELF ACROSS THE SKY, THUNDER HULLABALOO’S ITS NAME,
AGAIN A BOLT CATCHES MY EYE, BUT THIS WAS NOT THE SAME.
FOR IT STRETCHED OUT FIFTY MILES OR MORE THEN THE COLOUR TURNED TO RED,
AN OCCURRENCE I HAD NOT WITNESSED BEFORE, MY MIND RUPTURED IN MY HEAD.
I COLLAPSED ABRUPTLY ON MY KNEES, MY HANDS TIGHTLY COVERING MY EARS,
PRESSURE IN MY HEAD STARTED TO SQUEEZE, BLOOD WAS IN MY TEARS.
MY TORSO FELT READY TO BURST, I CATERWAULED IN AGONISING PAIN,
THEN ONCE MORE LIKE THE FIRST, RED LIGHTING CAME AGAIN.
THE INTENSITY OF ANOTHER BOLT THREW ME ON MY BACK,
THEN MY FRAME GAVE A JOLT, I FELT MY NECK TWIST AND CRACK.
I HEARD MY BREATHING SLOW RIGHT DOWN AND THEN IT STOPPED ALL TOGETHER,
I FELT AS THOUGH BEING LIFTED OFF THE GROUND, I FELT AS LIGHT AS A FEATHER.
NO REASONING HAD I BEEN TOLD OF WHY I WAS TAKEN THAT NIGHT,
BUT TRULY NOW I KNOW MY SOUL, IS PART OF AN ONGOING FIGHT.
AS RED LIGHTENING AND HOLLOWING THUNDER, SHOOT THROUGH THE NIGHT TIME SKY,
TURN AWAY DON’T MAKE THE BLUNDER IN HEAVENS BUSINESS DON’T YOU PRY.

The Beach

As I walk along the seashore
Waves beating against my feet
Skirt pulled above my knees
Hair blowing in the breeze
I reflect on my life
Past times, good and bad
Memories I'll treasure forever
Heartbreak tucked away wherever
The wind makes my eyes stream
The sea salt coats my lips
Natures beauty at my fingertips
I take a breath
Stop and stare
Change my mindset
Sure life's not always fair
The sun shows itself again
Bringing a smile to my face
I'm once again reminded
Life is beautiful
When I'm at this special place

Woman

Women are from Venus?
This orb so similar to the
one with which you
are familiar
Yet, vastly different
in ways that
explain
why you often
feel smothered
By-product breath
three thousand feet
underwater
leaves you
drowning
by design
Women must be from Venus
Morning or evening stars all
the same
these volcanic emotions
lava-hot
fuel the passion
-flames in her eyes-
that say you are wanted
with a look, smile
a touch only for you
You see yourself
in her clouds
the first mirrors for so many
past
now
tomorrow
