On Off

Sweeten smell of grass just mowed

Takes the day with my heart
To lighten the load

Bantering Tui's
swooping like gunners

they flick my brain

to no more bummers

Water, Sun, Clouds

Water

Water flowing down
babbling, full of joyfulness
giving life to all

Sun

Soul of life are you
blazing ball of sparking fire
lighting up our world

Clouds

Gentle clouds drift by
casting shadows over all
blanking out the sun

Who am I?

I can run but never walk,
i have a mouth but never talk,
I have a head but never weep,
i have a bed but never sleep
I give life to plants and trees
I am part of the seven seas
Im one with the earth
I am separate from rocks and dirt
I can be rare in some places
I am the source of an oasis
I will change the earths landscape for ever
But to see it I will never
I can make you cold
I can make you  shiver
But i give you life as i am a river

Rainbow

Rainbow peeking out
bands of colour refracting
in vibrant beauty

CHANGE

Everything in life is in
a constant state of change
A mountain may appear fixed
for it is unlikely to change noticeably
in our lifetime
Yet from the perspective of infinite time
that mountain is just as transient
as the morning mist
Even as one looks at the mountain
it is changing
The sun, wind, rain, snow
and other forces of nature
are continually changing that mountain
It may take millions, perhaps billions of years
for a noticeable change
but Nature has infinite time
for the change

Moon Stars Lake

Moon casting shadows
as it shines down through the trees
forming eerie shapes

Exploding stars shoot
across the sky leaving trails
glittering behind

Still mysterious
the lake gleaming in moonlight
silver in beauty

BECOMING

We are in a continuous state of becoming
with our environment
I am becoming that tree
just as that tree is becoming me
It took in the carbon dioxide that I exhaled
which became part of it
and through photosynthesis converted it to oxygen
which I inhaled becoming part of me
I am the tree and the tree is me
I am becoming that insect, that bird, that animal
and other persons
I breathe in the air they gave up
air that was part of them is now part of me
just as the air I exhaled is now part of them
Earth is becoming me and I am becoming the earth
It becomes me through the food I eat
which comes from the earth
directly or indirectly
and I become the earth through matter
that leaves my body
waste and otherwise
which returns to the earth
to become the earth

Great Lakes Meteor 5/23/2012

Violent green drop of Jupiter
Burning neon in the Mothers breath.
Blessing the night of this reveler
The bearing of this Gemini upon the Earth.
Luna waxing near the path
The "Panspermian" mote's essence dazzled
Searing elation into all that espied.
A scar of felicity brands my spirit
With a joyous aching that will burn brighter than Apollo
And 'til I sleep in Gaya's arms.

Autumns Pain

Winters morning, sky all grey and cold,
wind blowing leaves, yellow, brown, crumbled and old,
shallow pools of misty rain, reflecting distorted images of Autumns pain,
falling drops of crystal perils washing off the red clay stains

In The Woods

I set off along the faint trail
it was one I had not noticed before
plunging me deep into unknown territory
stomach clenched in excitement as I strode on

Tall old Oaks, Aspens, Chestnuts and Beeches
cloaked the way ahead, I was aware of silence
rather a nervous paused silent as if holding it's breath
everything seemed to be waiting for something to happen

Deeper into the woods I went, admiring the new slightly odd
flora and fauna scattered about, beautiful flowers blooming
mushrooms two feet and more wide with red and yellow spots
sturdy enough to sit on while I took a rest

Slipping into sleep I travelled even deeper
until I came to the heart of these mysterious woods
a shout went up from elves, fairies and pixies
she is here at last, our soon to be crowned new queen

A magical glen with a throne in the middle
red carpet made from red flower petals strewn
jewels most wondrous glinting in the trees
birds so colourful that they dazzle as they fly

Clasping me by the hand, the pixies lead me to the throne
once I am seated, they serve me with golden nectar
tasty berries and cakes of flowers on leaves for plates
full of such excitement I gaze around the clearing

A place of tranquillity and majestical splendour
little houses in the trees and small fairy lights
standing sentinel was an ancient gnarled Oak
branches waving as it moved towards me

Shaking as it drew closer and stopped before me
an elf handed it a crown that glittered with gems
turning to me it said let the crowning commence
with great ceremony he uttered the words

"Has any here just cause as to why she shouldn't be crowned?"

A deathly silence prevailed not even a murmur
Then turning to me he placed it on my head
all around were now on bended knee, heads bowed
The oak said "Now you are our ordained queen"

As a great cheer went up I startled back awake
the clearing, throne and all the little people vanished
All that was left behind was a feather of wonderful hues
and the crashing of a startled stag fleeing into the trees
