DESPAIR!

My old friend Despair,
He never leaves my side,
He tells me no one cares,
That there's no one else besides.

He sticks closer than a brother,
As though he was my friend,
But he does not give me comfort,
When I wish my life would end.

In fact, he is the reason,
That I would leave this place,
That I would take my life and plead,
Dear God, forgive my haste!

He says he wants what's best,
But then tells me I should quit,
He says "kill yourself and end this mess!"
But I still want to live!

So it's time we finally part ways,
And agree to disagree,
For me there will be better days,
This I MUST believe,
And not Despair!

About this poem:
No matter how bad your situation is, it will change, and when you've finally hit rock bottom there's nowhere else to go but up! "Why art thou cast down, oh my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, whose is the health of my countenance, and my God." Psalm 42:11

LifeThirst

I Traverse The Path

I traverse the path, groping in darkness,
In search of salvation;
I lose my way now and then;
My head bumps against the stony walls;
I return to the prison
Where all sense is lost.

I want sunlight and the open sky,
I want the touch of affection of the wind,
I want to travel from galaxy to galaxy,
But I lose my way and am compelled
To return to my dark cell of vanity.

So the beauty of the life remains unseen,
The sky remains unknown,
The sunligh and the smell of the wind
Remain beyond reach,
I am sorrounded by endless darkness
Of futile vanity.

Bleeding Heart

They say words can't hurt,
But, they lied.
They said that the truth sets you free
Apparently they were not speaking about me.
I thought it took guts
To say goodbye
But it takes a Goliath
To read the words you write.
Like splinters and knives
They cut into me
Tears flow hot and heavy
The thing is you've never asked why.
Never listened to my plea
All you saw was you
Never me.
I loved you so
How much, you apparently don't know
But the mistake was mine...
I admit freely
Getting in too deep too quickly
For my part in this all I can say...
Please put down your weapons...
Stop hurting me
I have never hurt you intentionally
Please, I hope one day you can forgive me.

emotions rage

There was a time when I was young,blind to the depths of sarrows of time. Now years upon me I sit, lonly,confused,waiting for deaths chime. The child within crys,the adult hides. My eyes drips tears and sarrow my heart colides. Years of broken promises leaving gloom filld dreams,as my soul scream. Beaten,batterd,broken and shatterd leaving my sprit tatterd. Right verses wrong,raging storm closing in, hallucinations of ugly indications, leaving bitterness unfalterd as normality becomes insainity.

Johannesburg News

An eight month baby girl raped, her tiny body torn;
A farmer hacked to pieces, his life’s blood seeping into the ground;
Family of five held hostage in their home, burnt with clothes iron, violated, their lives destroyed;
Violent protests in the suburbs, teargas, bullets, petrol bombs in the air.
Not headlines in the newspapers, but items on page four.

Corruption in the government - rewarded with earnings more;
Policemen torturing and raping - the norm;
A child mutilated while alive - muti for the lovelorn;
Mother and child shot dead - their car a hijacker’s score.
No, not headlines, not even on page four.

Beautiful land of majestic mountains, and cape of storms;
Beautiful country of veld and deserts, gold and diamonds bright;
Beautiful nation of rainbow colours, strong hearted and brave;
Beautiful country with soil soaked with our people’s blood.

Headlines of celebrity hook-ups, football heroes, and Obama’s new shoes,
Not on page four for, this, this is news.

Farewell

Just a cheerful word of hello,
and a sad one of goodbye,
someone is out to torment me so,
it is hard to communicate so will not try,

No matter what I say or do,
the shadow of past lurks here,
your always hiding in view,
this puts others in fear,

So for those I already know,
maybe back one day I have a choice,
a little time out to show,
but my words will always be my voice.

About this poem:
Just a thank you to all those have come to know and appreciate your mails and comments. But alas I cannot get to know anyone here because of my past and also the presence of my ex who lurks in the background following and monitoring my posts this causes a fear to anyone who I may be interested in, it is not just my ex but her brother and nephew and list themselves as TheGreatChase, Yahooliisa, Tiamaria24 (New Collin445)all no photographs they think its a good game to play trying to scare and threaten.. to me its just sad and psychotic.

Not made to crawl

I am tired of having to use make-up
Carefully blending the perfect shade
Painting on a smile
As I bite my lip to ride through the pain
I am tired of having to make up excuses
The doctors do not believe me, anyway
Tired of having to lie when anyone asks "Hey, are you okay?"

I am tired of having to suffer in silence
Tired of broken ribs, fractured collarbones and bruised skin
Tired of crying myself to sleep
Tired of feeling so anguished that all I can do is weep

Tired of being the victim
Tired of being with you
Tired of your cliche words as I walk out of the door

You drag me back and slam the door shut
Yet I stand my ground as we begin to brawl
No matter what happens next, all I know is that I was not made to crawl

Dead love

My heart is getting cold,
My tongue taste very bitter,
How can I feel love?
When I'm empty inside.

Truth to be told,
Hard to keep happiness,
I cannot smile or cry,
When love is just a dream.

Living Like a movie,
Neither romance nor a story plot,
Am I a hero or a villain?
At least they get to keep a girl always.

Love was and is lost,
My life an empty room,
God I'm feeling so old and tired,
Time to rest with broken promises.

Insomnia

I cannot
Fall asleep,
Who can teach me
To stop time?
Please give me
A sign
The minutes are ticking
So quickly
But I still cannot
Fall asleep,

I cannot sail away
On a frigate of my fantasies,
I cannot stay
By the shores of my illusions,
I can not extinguish
Lanterns
My thoughts are like
Pedestrians
Walking in darkness
Without rules

Can you help me?
My solo friend
Will you sing me?
A song
To attract
Morpheus ?
Do not be afraid,
Be an angel to me
I will not dare
To offend you,
I'm quiet when
I cannot fall asleep

Exactly at midnight
a drummer begins
Wound up.
He jumps
Down and up
Hitting my sleepless brain

I cannot fall asleep.
Here you are my sweet Ankou
In white clothes
I’ve stolen
Your years
And
Left you only my tears
And youth

I still cannot fall asleep...

Just a bit of silliness, really

It's beginning to look a lot like EMO, everywhere you go
Tis the season for crying
the season for lying
on yer bed, alone

It's beginning to look a lot like EMO, everywhere you go
suicide's not an option
just wait, yer adoption
to a tribe's, in tow

About this poem:
I was feeling suicidal a few hours ago, and these lyrics just popped in my head.

It made me smile, so I jotted them down
