Pain

Write me a story
Tell me a poem
Sing me a song
Please don’t leave me all alone
My head is spinning
My gut hurts
My heart broken
Into a thousand pieces
I’ve never been in such pain
I’ve never seen the stars so bright
Please somebody make it night
I lay in bed time never ticks away
Tell me I’ll be alright
Maybe I can sleep tonight

I'm not trying to cross any line

I'm not trying to cross any line
But it is so hard, when this life is actually mine
I'm trying to avoid stepping on a mine
But I'm on a minefield, and nothing is fine

The line between life and death seems to be so fine
So don't ask me to hang here, not crossing the line
When my life is hanging on a line so fine
The line has been crossed by someone Divine

I'm trying to keep walking with every step
I'm hoping to live with every breath
I hope that God will hold my hand
And be my guide until the end

I do not know what the end will be
But I still have hope that He's with me
It could end here for me tonight
But if He's with me, I'm gonna be all right

If I do not make it to the end of the line
The only life lost is gonna be mine
But if I do make it to the end of the field
Then I'll enjoy every breath of the wind

The Rose that Died

Ocean waves covered her up as she sank inside.
Her wings withered as she died.
She could no longer feel nor breathe.
The universe urged her soul to seize.
She couldn't be...
the beautiful flower she was meant to be.

Does anyone care

I often wonder in my moments of despair
If I were to die today would anybody truly care
Will they be at my bedside as I slowly slip away
Or will they be off on an adventure many miles away
Will it be quick or will it be slow
Who will be there when I finally go
What hearts will break what lives will shatter
For the loss of someone who doesn't really matter
So when that day inevitably comes for me
I hope those I love will be there for me to see

Farewell

Goodbye my friend
My only comrade
You lie forever
In my heart
Destined parting
Promises
A future meeting
Goodbye my friend
Do not say a word
Please don’t be sad
Dying is not new
But we will meet again
Another time
Another life
Another game
To play
Though if it will never
Be the same
Goodbye my friend

Words Hurt

Better to be slapped with dirt
Memory stained
heart broken
piece of soul taken away
want to forgive
To much pain
Beat me down
spit in my face
Verbally abuse
Up for the game
For the love of my beautiful blessing

Girl Rising

To live under oppression is terrible
watching every word you utter
never quite sure what sets him off
what he laughs at one day, the next
a flying fist smashes you to the floor

Always fearful, guts in a spin of tension
listening at night for the creak of stairs
knowing you will be brutally raped
just an object, a chattel to be used
the heartache, pain and despair.

The feeling of helplessness abounds
you wake one morning to find
all is quiet, not even sounds of snoring
fearfully you walk through the house.

Then, there he lies bloated not moving
he has drowned in his own vomit
a kind policeman takes your hand
leads you off to see a doctor

Who is shocked by your battered body
tenderly they question you
stunned into silence by your words
you are taken to a pretty home

A kindly woman cares for you
suddenly at the age of 14
you are finally free of him
can go out when you like
even finally have some friends

And are able to say what you want
with no fear of flying fists lashing out
baffled, bewildered you slowly adapt
savoring the greatest gift of all

Freedom, yes Freedom, so priceless
the chains of oppression have slipped away
after 14 years of being humiliated and oppressed
suddenly a new world opens up before you
where the choices are limited only by yourself

FREEDOM

yet to speak

a snake charmer
the dance of trance
your distraction is lust
when love holds you
in the vice like grip of a boa
you take control
helpless
its then you strike
dance with the serpent
a strange coldness comes ore
sigh of relief
the spirits of our dead
lift a large cross
of my heavily laiden shoulders
the vermin creeps in
spreading desease on the crops
you have everything to gain
i have it all to lose
i am not walking away
i have just lost
i have it all to say
in time

Letters.....Tricia p3

I've just discovered letters from the past
Dating back to '56
Words of joy that wouldn't last
In a country that had nix
Try you did again an again
To make your life complete
Paupers all around you
In your life you felt defeat
You seemed happy at the start
An proud of who an where
But time has its own plan
To eliminate the care
You strived for your children
To give the best that you could
But the pleasures you once knew
Were simply overlooked
A man who loved his job
An is people even more
His government did acknowlege
His government did adore
Left sitting on a shelf
In the shadows of his beliefs
Four kids in tow
In a country of little relief
Years an years went by
An the letters that you wrote
Revealed an existance
That had your spirit broke
Time it was to come back
To a place that you knew
To heal what you could
In the clouds of your blue
I learnt alot from those words
Of a woman who did care
Of everything around you
An your world of despair
Of how you thought about your kids
An cherished what you knew
Their future in your heart
An the best you could do.....

Here Freedom Ring

For in the days gone past i
feel the pain of another
being person tortured for
the pleasure of thee.
Never was he convicted
but beat and killed for
the pleasure of who watched.
How could this have happened
here at the USA where all
is equal for each person
that is here not partiality
to not a race.
Yet back then there was distaste
about a certain race and color
you see everyone treated them
not so fairly.
Hangings and beating were a ritual
with them that is all they could
see until Malcolm came to save
them and make history.
For now they are proud race
you see with many a scholar
and a president you see.
For women and African Americans
have come along way in history
they fought to set themselves
F R E E .
