the fragrance after the rain

headed towards the door, off on my way
just my daily routine,on this rainy day.
and she was standing their, smiling with joy,
as water glisten in her hair ,she was so coy.
standing with her array,
i counldn't hold back
i fell in love that day.
i picked her up and twirled her in the rain,
she was so precious ,everything i wanted to obtain.
i set her down ,but did not let her go,
i wanted to kiss her,i just didn't know,
so i told her i love you,i'll marry you one day,
i let her go and went on my way.
now years have gone by ,we could have been married with two,
sonia alvarez i still love you.
i thought the rain would never end ,
the clouds would never go away,
i would hold you forever ,
like that rainy day.
the rain has stopped
and it's the fragance after the rain,
the sun has dried up our love,
and left me with pain.
it's after the rain ,the fragance always on my mind,
my heart forever broken, for the love left behind.
she is but a memory now ,forever in the wind ,
i thought it would last forever ,i thought it would never end.
now as the thunder rolls and the rain peirce my skin
i carry a cold chill ,deep from within
then i smell the fragrance ,the fragance after the rain,
it once bought the love, now it brings the pain.
i now look above ,and my tears gently fall,
she has gone with rain ,she has takin it all

Leap to freedom.

Leap to Freedom

At yelping speed she travelled
across an emerald lawn,
pursued by gnarling nightmares
as the darkness nipped the dawn.

Her ears, amber triangles,
bush glittering crystal dew,
body sleek with rivulets,
glowed red with exhaustion's hue.

Her heart palpating bass drums
and panting loud, fit to burst,
'glimpsed a shadow by the gate,
Her escape route surely cursed.

A lolloping great mastiff
of the Herculean type
roused apathetic eyelids
to investigate the hype.

No options left, the vixen
hugged the ground, then made a leap
to clear canine, and gate, and
safely saunter home to sleep.

About this poem:
(The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog)

This piece is about the sentence that typists learn, to gain mastery of the keyboard, and enhance speed. I wanted to try to turn it into a poem without mentioning any of the words in the sentence directly, but to try to convey the meaning in a lighthearted way.

Paint Me In Chocolate!

Paint me in chocolate, smooth dairy milk
Lay me down on sheets of purest silk.
Let your tongue caress every cranny and nook,
Oh come on please - this only happens in books!

Wouldn't it be nice though to surrender
In sweet ecstacy to each other
Giving in to our every desires and shameful whims
Whether it's to the art of sensuality or a bottle of gin?

Smother me in cream, aerosol cream will do,
I am at your mercy, do what you will do.
Touch me with hands so gentle and strong,
Give me that for which I so desperately long.

Let us entwine our bodies around each other,
Giving in completely to sweet surrender.
Make love to me on sheets of purest silk,
Paint me in chocolate, smooth dairy milk.

About this poem:
This is just a sensual poem of what could happen if one was to paint me in chocolate. It's a fantasy, a dream.

Gods slice of Heaven...

At a glance,
remains unknown, fortune seeked, in hearts hath grown, our white sand shore, of Wainuiototo stands, in those that bare the greeded hands, for saith when our time shall pass, that New Chums beach shall surely last, our withered corpses and ghostly towns, left to lay in the oceans sounds, of waves a crashing against her mighty shore, when man nor beast shall stand no more, and in the light of thy sun, thou moon, thine angels trumpet, which play a tune, will chorus to Wainuiototo steed, will come to pass of mans own greed, and clearly too, from sea to ground, this paradise will go back to how it was found.... naturally beautiful...

About this poem:
this poem is about a beach called Wai-nui-o-toto (new chums beach), on the Coromandel, New Zealand. developers want to develope it, activists want to save it, and locals will share till the end of time... cause at the end of time, those who seeked to destroy it will lay for ever in unrest, those who fought to save it will be remebered. and we as locals will die to keep that that is important to us free from ones greed... it is one of the last untouched natural wonders left on the Coromandel, it should be left alone for all to share, not just for the few who want it for them selves... sound familiar?? its happening world wide, wake up people... enjoy.

true love

A young lady both beautiful and smart
A vision, an exceptional work of art
Her laugh, her Lips, her long blonde hair
A perfect picture just standing there
Angels would envy her enchanting smile
I caught her glance that we kept a while

Of our attraction there was no doubt
I had not the courage to ask her out
She patiently and calmly waited
Convinced somehow that we where fated
Then one day she gave up waiting
And bluntly said we should start dating

I remember once when I drove her home
Summers days, clear skies and warm
And at that meeting my heart did say
“I’ve fallen deeply in love today”
We spent the night sat on her parents’ lawn
Talking and cuddling till the break of dawn

We spent a day at Clumber Park
Romantic themes and playful lark
On the way home we went for a meal
And I had planned her heart to steel
I asked the question on that night
The answer made my heart take flight

Through college days when we were parted
Our love grew strong the courtship started
Countless letters penned and posted
And of our love we often boasted
Wedding plans had had some tweaks
Now counting down the last few weeks

Through mist and fog she drove alone
From her college, a lonely journey home
She rang me from a service station
To update me on her current location
Progress was slow but carefully driven
So her lateness was forgiven

A lorry that was travelling far too fast
With a foolishness that’s unsurpassed
Had failed to see the traffic slowing
Or the brake lights that where glowing
I felt her passing even though miles away
A dreadful feeling that had come my way.

It took a long time to recover
Moping and crying on the death of a lover
Eventually I found an inner peace
And my self-pity did finally cease
The promise that I made her on that day
Is the one thing that I’ll never betray.

About this poem:
Writing this poem has been difficult, a roller-coaster ride of emotions, I probably should have written this many years ago, but I chose to stop writing instead. We all suffer hardships and grief in our life, sometimes it feels like our world is falling apart. The one truth I have found is that our dreams don’t just end; they change and bring new beginnings. Without the difficult times how would we be able to identify how precious and beautiful life is, and how insignificant the things we worry about really are.

The Best Ever

Year of Splendour, year of bliss
Year to attain your lips to kiss
Year of Wonder, year of delight
Shine on me with your true light

No more emails, no more maybes
Stand beside me and be my baby
Tender moments all in virtual space
Allow me to touch your pretty face

Year assured to be the best ever
Year that draws you to me forever
Year of passion and kindred spirit
Heart beats robust if you are near it

No more questions or silly quibbles
No more hesitant pensive nibbles
Stand before me and toss the coin
For our spirits are destined to join

Year of hope, year two thousand eleven
Year my true love drops from heaven
Year of change, but for the better
Profound love attached with this letter

Happy New Year to all members of CS
Knowing it will truly be the Best
Thanking poets for wit and debate
Thanks for a Corner to meet my mate

"ZARATHUSTRA SPEAKS

Have you ever had the feeling aS if whAT chicken little said was true?

well something thoroughly confusing has me wondering wht to do

it was well before the sun told the "moon away"

and now i sit upon a plush sofa wondering and pondering what to say

this happenstance is amazingly lovely and wants something to me

but things like this, for me, always have a price and are never free

because the universe doesn't often offer something for me and my mortal coil

but it's difficult to say no to beauty so regal and royal
