HOW I TRULY FELT

You made my soul a brighter place
in my heart you secured a space
The passion you've shown I treasure
reciprocation my immense pleasure

You truly are special that's for sure
joy you give has been a cure
You're a woman of the rarest kind
one just a few are lucky to find

Love for you I have never known
resplendence that makes my heart moan
Being without you I just can't see
I hope 'future' has plans for you and me

Today is deemed a more meaningful one
it is only another soon to be done
My desire is your happiness everyday
you're simply the best I must convey

The " I Love You " Rose is Red
in me chivalry lives til I'm dead
True love for you will never stray
"Happy Valentines Day"

Brown eyed Woman

I stand on a cold snowy night
nothing but a full moon and bright stars in my sight
would like to send a message
but the air is taking my life with thought's we've never
met so how can this be right with only an image of
your face standing in the light should i reach through
the moon or wish upon that one star tonight cause
without that special someone in your life!

It's just another cold night.

?

I've been having drink's setting through the night
thought i should write it down before it leaves my life it's so hard to explain
wasting time writing rhymes is a passion of mine and your picture can't get
off my mind
You say you're looking for a partner of some kind and
something about crime all that's fine but i'm not doing
no time!

So may i call you Bonnie
If my name is Clyde?

(THE) SNOWBALL DERBY

My first Snowball at historic Five Flags Speedway was Two Thousand Nine
I couldn't miss seeing Kyle Busch vie for short tracks most coveted finish line
After witnessing ROWDY win Pensacola's prestigious Derby I became hooked
until no longer able my seat at Americas' most famous half mile is booked

I never thought the drama of 09's Derby could be toppled but I was wrong
pitting with 11 to go cemented 2010's come from behind win for Johanna Long
A Snowball Derby victory has been known to catapult the driver to Nascar fame
why this most worthy of races isn't aired on ESPN is indubitably a shame

The best drivers from near and far flock to Pensacola for their Snowball chance
sadly... each year more than half who attempt fail to qualify for the BIG dance
Nascar greats Wallace, Allison, Waltrip, and others have circled the half mile
sons of greats like John Hunter, Chase, and Steven have won here in style

It's popularity has gotten bigger and bigger every year since my first one
race fans know this tough to tame oval is iconic and second to none
I feel the Derby has significance equal to Nascars Xfinity and Truck races
more seats should mean larger purses which could attract more famous faces

Traveling thousands of miles speaks volumes about the place they're going
what's missed at the Snowball each year is the lack of Nascar drivers showing
When it comes to can't miss races...the Snowball Derby live you've gotta see
many already know... and I'd surmise after your experience you too will agree

Due Thanksgiving

There's many twists and turns in life
There's sometimes love, and sometimes strife
And many people lose their dreams
Amid the currents of life's streams
They stumble here, they get lost there
Then find a dream beyond compare
It doesn't seem to make much sense
At least to my intelligence
But even though I'm not too smart
I put the horse before the cart
I think of all God gives to me
And bow my head most thankfully
For every day I hear a song
That helps me move my life along
I hear a whisper on the wind
Amid the hustling bustling din
Just listen close and you may hear
Some special sound that you hold dear
The laughter of some joyful child
A ballgame where the fans go wild
The sounds of mother making tea
Just warms the very heart of me
Songs of the birds there in those trees
The buzzing of the honey bees
The splashing fountains where I walk
And listen to the old folks talk
The waves that break on yonder shore
Yes, all these things and many more
These things are sounds that I know well
The music of life's carousel
So when I get to feeling low
I jump right up and off I go
To where the wind is blowing free
And speaks of all these things to me
Then life, it doesn't seem so sad
I hear the good mixed with the bad
And if I listen long enough
I hear beneath that other stuff
That joy and laughter still abounds
Beneath all of life's other sounds
So as I strive to earn my way
I thank my Lord for each new day
I live in God's calliope
Where blowing winds can speak to me
And when there's time I think about
What I may have, or do without
And so, my friends, I finally learned
Life's not about what I have earned
Because without what I received
Upon the day I was conceived
The choices that I make, today
They wouldn't matter, anyway
Without the life God gave to me
And so I say this, thankfully
That come what may, both good and bad
For all these things, I will be glad
Because I have a heart that yearns
For all God's gifts, both twists and turns
When I think back on all that's been
The what, the why, the where, the when
Then contemplate what they have cost
And what's been won, and what's been lost
And what may yet still come my way
I thank my Lord for every day
I bow my head in humbleness
Just glad He didn't give me less
And so, my friends, I beg you, “Pray!”
And thank our Lord for each new day
And for the life He's given you
My friends, I think that much is due
Is that so very much to ask
To thank your lord for all your tasks
Well, maybe I don't know the score
But life, to me, is worth much more
And all I have could never pay
For all that God gave me, today
For all that God has given me
I'll thank my Lord

About this poem:
“Due Thanksgiving” is a poem I wrote a couple of weeks before the American holiday of Thanksgiving. Our “Harvest Festival”, if you like. And it’s celebrated on the last Thursday in November, each year.

And, a couple of weeks before the actual holiday, I got into a reflective mood, thinking about that first Thanksgiving, (Which has devolved into a very commercialized excuse for a “family feast/get together”, now.) and what it was about. And I ended up writing the poem, “Due Thanksgiving”.

It’s my take on what “Thanksgiving” is really SUPPOSED to be about. Although it rarely is, today. And there certainly is a religious aspect and context to the holiday, as well as the poem. It started as a Celebration of God’s bounty to his people. And the particular people who started this great “Thanksgiving” were, in fact, “Christians”. A small offshoot branch of “Christianity”, but Christians, nonetheless. And, for such a long poem, something that you may find interesting, is that, from start to finish, this poem only took me between 2 and 3 hours to write. It was almost like there was a hand guiding mine.

But the poem isn’t meant to proselytize Christianity. Most people that know me, will tell you that I’m NOT a “religious” person. And, if you’re speaking in terms of “organized” religions, and/or churches, that’s true enough. But I DO have a “spiritual” side. But I think that a man’s “spiritual” nature is his own business! Between him, and HIS “God”. (Just as I don’t feel MY relationship with MY “Higher Power” is anybody’s business, but mine and His!

And you might be interested to know that this poem was originally written in a 4 beat meter (as are the majority of my poems, for some reason I’ve never discovered/understood). But, after people bugging me to “do something” with this poem (which is one of the few poems of mine that I’ve shared, openly, with people who I thought might appreciate it) for somewhere around 30+ years, now, I’ve finally broken down and had a poster made up, with this poem. And, to do that, I tried to break it down into a more natural “spoken” rhythm, which is the version you just read. But there are actually several versions of this poem. (I have a propensity for RE-writing my poems. I NEVER consider one of my poems “finished”. They’re ALWAYS open to rewriting, if I think of a way to say something that “I” feel is “better” than my initial phrasing.)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

About this poem:
“Due Thanksgiving” is a poem I wrote a couple of weeks before the American holiday of Thanksgiving. The American "Thanksgiving" is, basically, a harvest festival/feast. This banquet became known as “Thanksgiving”, because it was meant as a “Thanks Giving” to God, for the bounty He had given to His people. And this harvest banquet became an annual event, which, over the years, spread to all parts of what is now the United States of America. And it’s celebrated on the last Thursday in November, each year.

About this poem:
This I coined when all of my Best friends were stoned on "The rock", When I was about 15...And upon the rock there was a small stream that cut out a cove under it and this is where I painted this, and it is still there to this day.

Life Lesson From the Sea

While walking the beach today, I learned a few lessons. I collect sea glass and old collectibles, that wash up on shore. I find it very relaxing and adventurous! It isn't always easy to find these treasures, it takes patience and an eye to spot out these beauties, that could be very small, or large. At times, I it can take me 30min to find one treasure. But, then there are times the perfect sea glass is right under my nose. My first lesson I realized today, is when I found a piece of sea glass, that wasn't fully formed into a good sea glass. I decided to throw it back in the ocean, for 2 reasons. One, I didn't want anyone to step on it, two, the Sea needed more time to shape the glass, to perfection. As I threw it into the ocean, I looked down, and right before my eyes, was the perfect sea glass! I learned at that moment, the truth and example of giving back. When you give back, you get back, tenfold. My second lesson I learned from that moment, sometimes, you don't have to actively seek out the right person, job, or friendship. Sometimes, it may be right in front of you; that it will come, when you are not looking for it. How wonderful it is to learn the importance of life's meaning, from nature!

Mr.Right

This topic sends women's minds on patrol
It is discussed by young and old
The qualities are on a long list
Women make sure none is amiss

Some use the lives of superstars as models
To spot the qualities which seem workable
Denzel and Brad with looks and money to match
Mesmerized women as their movies they watch

Mr.Right is imagined as tall, dark and handsome
A shining knight with money in lump sum
The mind captures Cinderella and Snow White
As women imagine happiness with Mr.Right

Mr.Right is not in a movie
But can star in their lives for eternity
Mr Right is not an illusion
He is patient and available to every woman

Desire for happiness is a divine desire
There is focus on a king in shining armour
He'll show up because you are his bride
He will restore lost pride

Jesus is Mr.Right;my Right among all wrongs
When I am weak,he makes me strong
Jesus is my Right among all rights
He ends all wrongs with eternal light

About this poem:
I wrote this poem four years ago.I wrote it a time when I read and studied Isaiah 54 vs.5 and realized how special we are to Jesus. If we were not special to him he wouldn't have died to save us.I want to remind singles here that they are special to Jesus and they should never forget this.I hope this poem will touch someone just as it has help me to stay grounded.

To My Dearest Juliet,

I am writing this in fear that it may be a long time until I find you,
The things I write here come from my heart & I swear they are true.
There is nothing I would not do or try to find your love,
I promise I will keep searching for you even if it means we only meet in heaven above.
I have a painful emptiness deep in my soul that stays with me night & day,
Until our hearts meet & I kiss your lips it will never go away.
I lay on my back looking to the stars always thinking of & wanting you,
I lay my hand on my Lord's word swearing it is true.
I long for your touch day & night,
Until I find you I will never be truly right.
Just know that I will never give up & will walk ten thousand miles,
Even only if I get to see just a couple of your smiles.
I will walk searching for you until blisters & blood come from my feet,
Even then one suttle touch of your hand for me would be a perfect treat.
I will walk in the sun until I grow old and blind,
Just hoping to find you because I can never leave the thought of you behind.
I feel like I have been searching for you since my birth,
I will continue to do so until I have taken my last breathe upon this Earth.
If I ever do find you & I seem to come on too strong,
Just remember it is because it has been forever & the journey has been long.
If I do find you I could hardly wait for the first kiss,
I will want to please you sending your body, heart, & soul into Heavenly Bliss.
I promise to please you more than you can ever dream,
I hope to make our love flow like a fast running stream.
Only in blissfull pleasure I want to hear you moan as loud as you can,
Just to know that I am your ultimate man.
Just please do not give up waiting on me,
For I will always search for you & that is the way it will be.
So please never give up on hope or our love,
I can & will stop only by the power of the Lord above.
I hope to see you soon,
I will always be longing & searching if only by the light of the moon.
Now I must continue on our journey & let this letter end,
Just know we will find ourselves to be ultimate lovers & each other's friend.
Sincerely Your Casanova & Romeo,
Love me forever & never let go.
