All Along The Watchtower

All along the watchtower angels
were burning hell to the ground
The serpent hid within a deathstar
for a thousand years without a sound
Mortal and mortality fought for the
kingship but the sea had claimed
the crown
Men spit blood in fierce battle yet
the jester had murdered them at
birth
Infants floating on a celestial life dream
found the sword determined their worth
A facination stirred in the heavens and the
seventh angel read from a scroll
'Sip air from this lower world, for soon
the goblet will be empty'
Let the devil steal your mind and hells
fire will grow within your soul-

About this poem:
The title is from the famous song from Jimmy
Hendrick' All Along The Watchtower.' I thought I
would do a creative play on that title.

Like an Angel

Shimmery wings spread

Golden halo on her head

She captures my heart

her aura so dazzling bright

she bestowed a peaceful smile

A Mermaid Frolics

If i was a mermaid I would frolic
on the white crested waves
appearing from the shore comic
then plunging down to the caves

Sunbathe on the warm rocks
diving down out of sight
so as not to give any shocks
nor frighten humans into flight

My voice so golden entices
if they follow a watery grave
will keep them in its clutches
until they are now enslave

Beauty of the oceans wide
pearl necklace I do wear
shells and seaweed applied
I don my translucent nightwear

As I travel the oceans like a flash
yet another heart or three I captor
although they struggle and thrash
I place them safe in my ardor

So warn your men least they stray
to wear a blindfold and mufflers
and to walk only on the causeway
only thus can they avoid my amors

Mirror

You hang there on the wall
casting reflecting images
as people move about
capturing briefly faces

How many have you seen?
what secrets could you tell?
mysterious, you keep them
forever held within your glass

Young and old also in between
they have all gazed into you
each with their own hopes,
dreams and aspirations

You hold all of these within
an odd glimpse sometimes seen
when deep into you a gaze lingers
catching a brief glimpse of ?

Being

Being, existing, living
all that entails
a cloud exists
as it floats by

Until it burns up
in the sun's rays
rain falling softly
sustaining life

Moon gives her own
by nightlight
secretive creatures
do exist in her light

Being is, to experience
all life has to offer
so many wondrous things
We Exist, We Are, We Live and Enjoy

Knights of Yore

A story I have to tell of days of yore
when knights were brave heroes
and fought to save distressed damsels
from the hands of their ravishers

One such knight was Sir Fight Alot
with his silver armour all a glitter
he rode a mighty fiery white steed
who puffed out white smoke when excited

Many were the noble deeds he had done
everywhere he went damsels kissed his hand
or told him of another who needed his help
quickly to steed and off to save the poor soul

Now he had heard of a great tournament
he headed there, what a sight it was
hundreds of people in the pavilions
horses, knights and their squires

Feverishly getting ready to joust
he entered his name on the list
now he needed a lady's colours
to wear on his arm showing her favour

He looked at the royal pavilion
there she sat in her splendor
humbly he approached her
he asked for her favour it was freely given

Light of heart he entered the jousting field
looking at the other end he saw his rival
head to foot covered in brilliant dazzling red
bright chestnut was his raging screaming steed

The other knight a most monstrous man
they lined up Sir Fight Alot all a tremble
this had to be the toughest test of his life
the pennant fell they flew down the line

A humongous crash as they met together
lance broken Sir Fight A Lot takes a mace
back down they fly blows ringing out
one knight down de-horsed and stunned

Bravely he struggles to his feet as the fiend
dismounts and swirls his enormous sword
many blows they exchange none winning
at last with a timed thrust our knight wins

Aah, what does he win? Why the damsel's hand
that was the prize all along, the king's daughter
with trembling knees he approaches the king
well fought Sir Fight Alot and places her hand in his

She blushes most charmingly as he smiles at her
a great feast full of rejoicing they held that night
Sir Fight Alot had won his bride he now pledged
to always keep her save cherished and loved

and so ends our gallant knights story

Roses

Roses you astound me with beauty
as I smell your wondrous scents
I stare at you blankly
thinking of past events

A rose you gave me
to mark special times
I think back dreamy
Life seems to rhyme

So many special memories
each one so poignant
full of life's bounties
each one so fervent

Savannah Cafe

Voices mingle with the scuffle of shoes clicking,
and doors slamming shut.
The smell of coffee and cinnamon buns permeates
the air...
Movement...sound...senses rage in overdrive,
and yet still.
Questions of whether the coffee is actually tea,
or are these simply pancakes...just not so flat?

I recognize some of the faces from long ago,
especially the man in the glass.
He stares into my eyes without notice,
melancholy and mystery hovering close by...

It is his frozen voice that I mimic from time to time.
Standing to shuffle my way to the door and you
are here too, in the corner alone..
I had hoped you'd never find me here...
Slicing through plumes of blue smoke,
Your eyes invite me to sit with you.
I am near you now... settled in this booth,
and not alone.

Abecedarian

After the storm eased slowly
Big waves smashed against the shore
Causing havoc every where
Drinking more than he should
Eating until stuffed
Feet sliding every where
Grabbing at straws
He caught on to what he could
Into the sea he waded
Jigging about he got soaked
Keeping to his feet only just
Looking every where
Masts in the distance
Nothing else out there
Or not that he could see
Perhaps a castle far away
Queen could be dining
Royal banners flapping
Swimming towards it
Took a long time
Under the spell
Victory not clear
Washed up on the shore
Xebec sailing past
Yacht moored near by
Zanzibar in the distance

the mateting game

What a joke this game we play with its shades of gray. We piss and moan, wine and cry wishing some day to dine. Dissapointment is the game, attacking those with no name. Breaking hearts the bid, winner will always dread. Only loosers stay unscaved,so hippity hop and play if you dare but fake hearts do not care.
