A Laconic Man

He was a laconic man
of mesomorph build
wearing a himation
he quite stole my heart

His excelsior was truth
he came for me in his fiacre
and took me to the heavens
Lacerta was where we paused

On our starry cosmic journey
there he took off his neb
as he bent on one knee
dauntless he proposed

He promised me a cestos
my amour to encourage
when I said yes I will
he shook the reins

We flew to a church
with a beautiful fleche
there our promises
to each other we made

To Each Their Own

Life has a way of righting injustices
no matter how long it may seem to take
although for some it may seem otherwise
just sit back and wait, Karma sorts it

Time and again, people experienced this
even with people that have never met
Karma looks after those who cause upset
returning what is done unjustly tenfold

Yet for those who retaliate it rebounds
a high price has to be paid by sinners
who are caught this way, Karma sees all
knows all, there is no place to hide away

You may scoff, think no it's not true
but just as the piper pays the price
so do those who wish evil on others
some say it was fate, some say it's god

believe what you like as you pass on
everything goes in circles that turn
like the sun with all its satellites
at day's end, it's each to their own

Poetry's lost children

We are orphans of a magnificent
utopianism
We are the bastard child of an
impossible dream
We insert ourselves into the arena
of division and endless choices
We are the party crashers of a
lust fest
We kill ourselves that you may live
You kill us that you may die
Starve us
Beat us
Abuse us
Mock us
We know the whip
Pour the wine of you
destruction..yet in our
broken bodies and hearts
we shall ever suggest a
better way
We are the lost children
of poetry

Eternitarian Soul (for Paloma)

Nacreous colours fill my senses
as the psiturism flows round me
touching the aeolian strings and
stirring the gossamer shroud

bringing ataraxia to my reverent
cosmogyral brings reminiscence
of days long gone by, yet I reach
my destination, my soul's safe haven

Gracious Beauty of Nature (my challenge)

The odoriferous scents wafted
through the window stirring
the tassel back and forth
looking out I see flowers

They festoon the garden
all shining and glistening
such gorgeous foliaceous plumage
creating hidey-holes and niches

The megalith is standing sentry
the musical notes of the harmonium
blending in with the bird songs
floats through the verdant garden

lush vegetation forms mystique shapes
Soon I will irrigate the rolling lawns
I stand unobtrusive, hidden from view
the backdrop of amethyst hills effective as

They make a frame drawing attention
to the utter loveliness of this mansion

Tick Tock

Time passes slowly
its near middle of night
witching hour approaches

outside all is quiet
seeming not to breathe
silence deep not sinister

the moon peeks out
casting long shadows
upon the lush lawns

this is a time for reflection
as one day draws to its close
another one is starting up

I wander outside
sit on the swing
and gently sway

listening to the sounds
night birds are singing
magical notes rise and fall

the murmur of the brook
adds to their songs
night scents abound

I hear the church clock
it is striking midnight
I breathe in the tranquillity

let myself drift away
pleasant thoughts
fill me with delight

carrying me afar
its times like this
that I feel at peace

what joys will it bring?
I am open to all
tick tock goes the clock

You Think You're The Best?

so you think you are the best
something rather special
you flick back your hair
as you give me the eye

flex a muscle or two
drawing attention
to your fine physic
wash board stomach

a handsome face
heart melting smile
you have it all
or so you think

let me tell you pal
beauty is as beauty does
you leave me cold
with your dark heart

all you want
is to be in control
a flying fist
you feel in command

yes I know you
a little too well
I turn I am no worm
coward that you are

you walk out the door
saying manage on your own
well I'll tell you what pal
good riddance out you go

get out and stay out
don't darken my door
I don't need you now
for I have moved on

Here on Earth

We come into this world
naked and helpless
does it get any better?
as we grow we face trials

each one different from the last
sent to try us in many ways
we struggle trying to live right
sometimes succeeding often not

people talk of hell and its horrors
well I believe that here on earth
we are already living in that pit
that these trials and tribulations

are a life of living breathing hell
take war living through the mayhem
the atrocities that are committed
surely it makes sense hell is here

take the different pains we suffer
the loss of loved ones even a child
taken well before its had time
to live and grow explore have fun

we are born and return time after time
until we reach a perfect state
become a good person who does no harm
only then do we leave this hell behind

Wonder Tree

Like you, I change with the season...
like a shape-shifter...we seem to always alter our appearances
to fit the model...the design....
but unlike you,
I morph into a multitude of sentiments...
until only a mirage of my former self remains.

...now i am a stranger to you,
and even to myself.
...i close my eyes and wait... for the Change to come.
