Making A Stand

It's not wishful thinking
That I offer you my hand.
Let the sound of our hearts beating,
Provoke love to stand.
I hear your love calling,
I hear destiny calling too.
With my arms wide open,
I am here to welcome you.
Your kiss is the key
That leads straight to my heart.
It opens it wide
And lets your love impart.

Daydreams

Jumping, jumping ,over the style
Wasting time just for a while
Dark clouds forming filled with rain
Will my rainbow return again
I miss those days of childhood charms
Held by my parents in loving arms
My adult days approach too fast
As plaits and uniforms, I cast.
Into this world of wonderment
I step with awe and calm content
Will I survive and make my mark
Is life just a stroll in the park
I'll do my best through thick and thin
To reach the goalpost that say's win.

Neighbors (part 1)

Once, everything finally set into place,
All got scattered out- deep into space,
Aliens, they're always watching me,
They hang with my neighbor,
From across the street,--
Strange lights and sounds,
As if making they're plans,
Speaking some language,
No one here could understand,--
So, I set up my perimeter,
Tripwire and landmines,
But, like angels from above,
Lights fell from the sky,--

(chorus): Is this real or in my head?,
What in the Hell is this?,---

Well, out came my neighbor,
Just as no surprise,
With a spacesuit on,
And a glaze in his eyes,--
"Why don't you come take a trip with me?"
"Good accommodations and upper class hospitality,"--
Imagine different places and different worlds,
But just like from Sling Blade,
He sounded like Carl!,--
"ah hmm, You shouldn't be singing songs like that,
you gonna scare these boys and girls! hmm,
Why don't yaw kids come on with me,
We'll go get some of them there French fried taters, ah hmm,--

(chorus) Is this real or in my head?,
Who in the Hell is this?,---

I took a few steps back,
And then I cocked my gun,
But, then came the military,
And the Air Force One,--
What I saw,
Please allow me to explain,
That Biden and the aliens,
Knew each other by name,--
Pissed off and hurt,
Well, my neighbor he walked on home,
His 15 minutes of fame,
That day is now long been gone,--
But, I still see him around,
Once in a while,
Staring towards space,
Wearing a smile!,--

(chorus) Is this real or in my head?
Where in the Hell is this?---

{{ The music fades as a Coocoo bird chirps louder; then,
different sounds of birds over sound into Neighbors
(part 2) Only The Birds Understand. }}

About this poem:
This song (poem) I wrote 1-18-11 should be easy to understand. It's about my neighbor and politics at that time and place; but, a few changes in my writing to fit into today. I once had a neighbor who claimed he was abducted by aliens and the way he spoke sounded actually just like Carl from Sling Blade. At that time Obama was president. This song is comedy.

shades down low

Now the shades down low
evening in the street
puttin' down the rhythm
toying with the beat
taking my time
writing up the lines
feeling my way
with the old time rhymes
grinding to the flow
work it nice and slow
careful how I'm swimmin'
watch the undertow
riding like the dog
know its understood
haters on the corners
get you if they could
Now the shades down low
evening in the street
putting down the rhythm
toying with the beat
..

Vanishing

I dance with the wind
like a broken leaf
swirling in gusts of joy.
Indian summer turns
a thin thread,
and autumn comes to my heart.
Color palette,
fog in the meadows at
dawn in the morning
and nostalgia and some regrets
that time passes
that I will not stay

Rain

I sank my face
in heavy rain
seeking relief.
I thought it would be easier
when will wash away my desires
I wanted to wash my longing
remove all defeats
forget the past
quench my sorrows.
I washed my hair with streams
to be a more greener
and dried them with the wind
blowing from the sea.
I took rain drops
in the vessel of my hands
and I watered my lips
let water protect them.
And for a moment I forgot
about all my life
listening to rain drops
washing my body secretly.

Kill

I remember the easy life,
Pushing rocks uphill,
And how I made it this far?
Living in Hell,-
"Those are the streets where you cannot go"
Mommy told you to stand still,
"That man coming this way and pay heed to what I say"
Kill or be killed--

Into some of the darkest places,
Through cities corrupted by sins,
And why I was made this way?
Built to win,-
"When it's all over and all seems lost"
Mommy said to you wearing a grin,
"That man standing alone out there"
Kill and kill again--

I remember the harder life,
All at free will,
And what made me travel this way?
ha, Just for the thrill,-
"Such destruction he left in his wake"
Mommy pointed out with so much feel,
"His way of bringing peace and love"
Smile when you kill--

i intend to give you many bowls

I intend to give you many bowls
1.

I intend to give you many bowls.
For apples and loose change.

What would suit you
better than a bowl.

Round with primacy,
place for holding.

You are not round
like a woman
but you have more
roundness than most men.

2.

In Korea,
every day a woman
prays for her son to come
home.

Her prayer:

Every day she puts clear water
in a bowl.

She placed it in the garden.

3.

I will deposit light when you’re absent.
Figs. Water. Unchurched compounds.
Tithes and dithyrambs. Light.

4.

A bowl.

Where a mother
keeps a son for safe-keeping.

A bowl.

Fugue on the
pre-eminence of corners.

A bowl.

Cornerstone
of repeated silence.

A bowl.

Something to eat
and light is changing.

A bowl.

Where I keep
my body when my head is raining.

A bowl.

Two cupped hands
made of clay.

Love is sometimes bitter

Love is sometimes bitter
It can also be delicious
Not junk, but, sometimes, you litter
Wasteful and avaricious

What I look for is a moment
Where I have you in the cross-hairs
You are my target, my key component
Don't want to catch you, all unawares
What I look for is more than a minute
Where you and are looking eye-to-eye
In your future, am I at all in it?
Or am I just that annoying guy
That guy who always puts into verse
I want to ad-lib, not be adverse
Look at me as a blessing, not a curse
Not always the best, but never worse

Love is sometimes bitter
Occasionally, it's hard to swallow
All things of value do not glitter
I'd prefer you lead, rather than follow

Queen Searching Lost Kingdom

Queen Searching Lost Kingdom

Geranium whispers in the twilight haze,
A queen wanders under the moon's soft gaze.
Her kingdom lost, her heart in strife,
In every petal, she seeks her life.

Aster stars sprinkle the night,
Guiding her way with their radiant light.
Echoes of laughter, shadows of crowns,
In dreams of old, her hope rebounds.

Lilies pure, standing tall and fair,
Whispers of a kingdom that was once there.
Courage in heart, scepter in hand,
She journeys forth to reclaim her land.

Iris, the rainbow, blooms in her wake,
Reflecting the path that she must take.
Across the mountains, through the dales,
Her spirit strong, she never fails.

Camellia blushes in dawn's first light,
Symbol of love, burning bright.
In the heart of a queen, love knows no bounds,
Her lost kingdom, she finally found.

In the forest of forget-me-not,
She finds a land that time forgot.
The palace stands, proud and grand,
In the kingdom, where love and memories expand.

Azalea, a celebration of life anew,
In the heart of the kingdom, where love is true.
With her people, she dances with joy,
In the land that time could never destroy.

Daisies bloom in fields wide and vast,
Reminding her of a beautiful past.
Now the queen of a kingdom reborn,
In the heart of her people, she'll never be forlorn.

Roses, the symbol of eternal love,
Blessings bestowed from the heavens above.
In the heart of a rose, she finds her peace,
Queen of her kingdom, where wonders never cease.
