The Clouds

All alone and on your own,
Quest for love with a heart of stone,
Of all you've learned,
Still, what do you know?
The days glittering shades of light,
(quietly) oh, so warm--

And now we're here,
Dig, the clouds cloud our minds,
Too young for the love,
Too old for the lies--

You've climbed mountains and swam seas,
You've found peace through warfare,
Survived death, now live in prosperity,
What more could this life ask of me?
Ride hard and die free,
Ha, love is all you need--

And now we're here,
Dig, the clouds wondering by,
Too young to smile,
Too old to cry--

Perhaps now, everything is taking form,
Always the calmest before the storm,
You know too much,
Still, what do you know?
The days glittering shades of dark,
(quietly) oh, so cold--

And now we're here,
Dig, the clouds shatter and break,
Too young to give,
Too old to take--

About this poem:
I wrote this one 12-28-2021. I wrote and rewrote this in a few different ways just because I liked the stanza part (And now we're here, Dig...) Allow yourself to perceive what the song means on your own accord of thought.

Cupid

Cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me, for me
Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me
Now I don't mean to bother you but I'm in distress
There's danger of me losing all of my happiness
For I love a girl who doesn't know I exist
And this you can fix
So, cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me
Nobody but me
Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me
Now, cupid if your arrow make a love storm for me
I promise I will lover her until eternity
I know between the two of us her heart we can steal
Help me if you will
So, cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me
Nobody but me
Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me
Now, cupid, don't you hear me
Calling you, I need ya
Cupid help me, I need ya
Cupid, don't fail me

I have tried

Little is as always was
When romance still was king
Days of prose and days of poems
And days of songs to sing
I looked across a sea of smiles
And none were turned to me
For old I was in my ways
And not I'm meant to be

In the time of here and now
Another man is sought
His mouth must curse the one he's with
And she'll so be caught
Call her whore, call her slut
To you they will gather
Be like me and show respect
And son you will not have her

I have tried to be the man
That I was taught to be
Do not curse, show respect
Just brought me misery
I sometimes try to wear a mask
And be the cur girls seek
Soon still I find it is not me
Back to romantic geek

About this poem:
Just wish I could be like the guys that seem to have women drooling all over them no matter how badly they treat them. I look at my upbringing and wonder why I wasn't taught to be a bad boy type. They get the girls and no matter what women tell you nice guys not only finish last... They aren't even allowed in the race.

Silence

Talk to me Silence
So I will find out
I'm not alone
In the world
Where life is a shadow
Of survival syndrom
Please talk to me
Silence......

Jeeves

A dowager summoned her butler with some duress,
“Please Jeeves, come take off my dress,
Take off my petticoat,
Take off my bra.
For I know the man that you really are!
Please take off my panties,” she said with some yearning,
She knew that her butler was discreet and discerning.
“Yes Ma’am,” he answered with respect and with tact,
Finally she said in a language exact,
“Now if you wear my clothes again, you’ll be sacked!”

Adoring You

Draw close
Draw close and you will surely
hear the melody that is playing
softly..in my heart.

Playing sweetly,in the part of me
that is all yours, that truly adores.

And no matter if you’re here with me
Or, sometimes very far away, I pray
that we are always close in spirit everyday.

For, I will always be loving and adoring you.
Adoring you..my prescious one ..for who you are.

Adoring...you...adoring you,
for...who...you...are

Together 'til the end of time..

Should fate decree I win your love...
Then sure as there are stars above...
A lifetime's seeking now is done...
My search has led me to the ONE...
With beauty far beyond compare...
A wondrous love with me to share...
Two souls as one, two hearts entwined...
TOGETHER 'TIL THE END OF TIME.

Ten Little Girlfriends

Ten little girlfriends looking so fine,
One obsessed with religious cults,
And then there were nine.
Nine little girlfriends going out so late,
The demons would attack one,
And then there were eight.
Eight little girlfriends searching for heaven,
One never told the truth,
And then there were seven.
Seven little girlfriends so full of tricks,
One wanted everything,
And then there were six.
Six little girlfriends were just so alive,
One sought perfection,
And then there were five.
Five little girlfriends always wanting more,
One desired money,
And then there were four.
Four little girlfriends couldn't agree,
One always argued,
And then there were three.
Three little girlfriends wouldn't pursue,
One couldn't leave the past,
And then there were two.
Two little girlfriends basking in the sun,
One couldn't cope with age,
And then there was one.
One little girlfriend had charm by the ton,
But he couldn't see it,
And then there was none.

About this poem:
I was looking through some of my past attempts at poetry and I found this one. I thought I'd submit it to such an esteemed site. Remind me to write the book someday. My thoughts are when it comes to girlfriends never over complicate the issue. It will do your head in!

Christmas Tradition

Once upon a Christmas a long time ago,
Santa was getting ready for his annual trip,
But problems began to appear high and low,
It was enough to give even Santa the pip.

Four of Santa’s elves got sick, life can be cruel,
The trainee elves could not produce toys very fast,
So Santa was becoming behind schedule,
And as a result he felt very downcast.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her mum was coming to stay,
Santa couldn’t stand the whining old biddy,
This stressed Santa even more on this important day,
It made him nauseous and quite giddy.

When Santa went to harness his reindeer, what a mess,
Three were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence,
They were out there somewhere which caused him more distress,
His face grimaced as his body became tense.

When he began to load the sleigh it cracked like a gun,
The toy bag was scattered all over the icy ground,
This Christmas Eve was turning out to be not much fun,
Which was echoed in the sleigh bells’ hollow sound.

Santa needed a drink; his usual apple cider and rum,
But the elves had hidden his liquor and he had nothing to drink,
He began to get frustrated and morbidly glum,
He could see that his career was teetering on the brink.

Then he accidentally dropped his cider pot on the floor,
It broke into a hundred little pieces all over the kitchen,
When he reached for the broom, mice had eaten the end with straw,
It was like some horror story fiction.

But just then when all was doom and gloom, the doorbell rang,
Santa opened it and saw a little angel with a great big tree,
“Merry Christmas…what a lovely day,” the little angel sang,
His face beaming with Christmas spirit so joyous and free.

“I have this beautiful tree for you, where would you like me to stick it?”
He said like a happy queen bee,
Santa without thought knew where it would fit…
Thus began the tradition of the little angel a top the Christmas tree.

Cold thorns

I came from heat were the summer is no treat
Stepped off the plane and froze my feet
Just getting to a warm place to eat
Felt like forever, put me back in the heat
I finally got warm no clothing was torn
A tear was a dare even my socks over my feet
The cold was like thorns removing all the heat
I must walk my dogs in this cold without heat
Along came a dutch girl looking like she was warm
How can it be so cold and she doesn't feel a thorn
She was walking so warm and very cozy almost hot
Like slow motion she moved, scarf swaying I must stop
That day I learned something and I grew a great grin
It can look like it's cold even feel like it too
It's really not true the cold isn't in you
When I arrived at my home I'd told what I'd seen
And I still tell that story to all it could mean
The cold is not a friend but to me it's not mean
I become like that dutch girl the heat won't beckon me

Live in Holland and enjoy it.
