Friends and Lovers

You don't have t'sleep on that ol' couch,
My bed is soft and warm.
Not tryin' to put no moves on you,
Don't mean you any harm.

But as they lay there side-by-side,
Him with his back to her,
There came a soft and timid voice,
That caused in him a stir.

"Can we cuddle?" she sweetly asked.
"Well, sure," came his reply.
And as her breasts pressed to his back,
He stopped to wonder why.

Does she want me or is this just,
A crying out for touch?
He pondered for a lengthy time,
Their friendship meant so much.

He fin'lly turned to her and kissed,
His need he did not hide.
They did not stop until they both,
Were fully satisfied.

So now they're friends with benefits,
I tell you that it's true,
You can be lovers and be friends,
This is my gift to you.

Sometimes Impatience, Is A Far Greater Virtue !

I sat, and I waited so very patiently,
for the life, I had envisioned for me.

Only by chance, to at last realize,
that it would take more than patience, to win that prize.

For the time for some action, was long over due.
And that sometimes, Impatience is...a far greater virtue !

About this poem:
I decided to make impatience into a true-blue virtue, for it can come in really handy when, we aren't getting the desired results from patience, n it has gotten a bad rap for centuries. Who got to decide that anyway ? It is now one of my own special personal mottos ! aware3

Love Lied

Never you.
Never me.
Somewhere in our dreams.
No more tears.
No more glee.
Only haunting themes.
Jagged shards,
Of my heart,
Poke me and I bleed.
Terrified,
Undignified,
Heartfelt and in need.

I scream in my mind...
Trapped inside,
Breaking out,
It gets harder to contain.

I scream in my mind...
To confide,
To let it out,
It gets harder to refrain.

Love lied to me.
It lied to you.
It pushed us to our knees.
Love lied,
To our face,
Behind our backs,
We`re just casualties.
Love lied, you see?

Open arms,
Open minds,
Success is the strain.
Tear it apart,
Tear it up fine,
Diagnose the ugly stain.
Burning coals,
Of my soul,
Feed the fire within.
Never know,
Intense glow,
Feeds the fire of sin.

I scream in my mind...
Trapped inside,
Breaking out,
It gets harder to contain.

I scream in my mind...
To confide,
To let it out,
It gets harder to refrain.

Love lied to me.
It lied to you.
It pushed us to our knees.
Love lied,
To our face,
Behind our backs,
We`re just casualties.
Love lied, you see?

OH MORNING BREEZE

Oh morning breeze, You gentle tease,
How delightfully sweet you are.
You've lifted me, to heights of fantasy,
I feel as though, I could soar.

But here I sit, so lazily dreaming,
caressed in your cool loving arms.
A most willing prisoner,
Held captive, by your charms.

WHY ?

Impatiently, I wait here
and here, I shall forever be.
Forever here and longing,
for my love's return to me.

I exist only for him
and for each next ardent embrace.
For the gifts of ecstasy he brings,
are in his touch, his scent, his taste.

My love does not keep me waiting long,
though he knows, I wait faithfully.
Eternally beckoning only to him,
in calmness or calamity.

Yes ! it is I that he returns to,
as he shall forever more.
For why, oh why would the sea,
ever want to be, away from it's shore ?

About this poem:
I wrote this poem, the day I turned 60, (09-09-2007) out on Johnson's beach, walking barefoot on the sand. I was completely swept away by the awesome power of the beautiful gulf, n found myself just a little jealous of the waiting shore. ! I offer no other explanation.

Collision!

When two worlds collide,
There's mayhem far and wide.
Equators and poles,
Explode with gaping holes.

In orbits sublime,
We've spun through space and time.
Not knowing one day,
This crash would come our way.

Now pending events,
Will end our ignorance.
But surely, it's true,
We will collide, we two.

On that fateful day,
Will true love come our way?
Will this be our start?
I pray with all my heart...

Hunger

Real hunger clouds the judgement so,
All traps use tasty food as bait.
When love is what you hunger for,
It makes you rush when you should wait.

If lonliness brings hunger's pain,
You must beware the siren's song.
Don't let your need select for you,
The first one that should come along.

While tangled in love's tender trap,
With someone that is not your one,
You could miss one that better fits,
Your heart, when all is said and done.

My hunger for a love that's true,
Has led me often far astray,
So if I move too slow for you,
I strive to keep the wolf at bay.

Love In Bloom

I've seen loves flower blossoming,
In poetry and prose.
As lovers reach across the seas,
I wish good luck to those.

Until you meet it's hard to tell,
Which way the wind will blow.
It's difficult to know just how,
The chemistry will go.

I've been accused of placing too,
Much weight upon these things.
But I know from experience,
The burden that it brings.

It's great to take a holiday,
To travel far and wide.
I say it's hard to count upon,
What's on the other side.

I cannot say that I will not,
Find love in one afar.
But for right now, I'll stick with those,
That can be reached by car.

Driving

Been car-less now for quite a while.
In fact, it's been a year.
I've had to hitch to get around,
Been quite a challenge here.

But now I've found a friend who has,
A pick-up truck to drive.
It's made a difference in my life,
This feeling, so alive.

Jump in the seat and turn the key,
The engine springs awake.
Now don't forget to click the belt,
No chances now to take.

Get it in gear and press the gas,
A simple little thing,
But having been without so long,
It makes my heart to sing.

The open road, the freedom to,
Just come and go at will.
A feeling so empowering,
It really is a thrill.

I thank my friend for bringing back,
This robust sensation.
Liberation! So much more than,
Basic transportation.

Love Realized

When I hold you, in my two arms,
On that sweet day when first we touch,
Then you will know, beyond a doubt,
You've found the one you want so much.

And I'll know too, because of you,
I will no longer have to wait.
All of my dreams can now come true,
So darling please don't hesitate.

When we are one we'll have such fun,
'Cause we've already learned to play.
We'll have a ball, we'll do it all,
As through life's paths, we make our way.

So take my hands and look to me,
As in our eyes the tears will form.
We'll realize, each other's eyes,
Are all we need to keep us warm.
