Sugar time sweet

your curls wrap down
in the season of the sun
oh I been waiting, waiting
so long, so long baby
angel dance for me
slow movement in the dark
feel you drawin' a breath
come ride with me, ride with me
been a long time, long time
sugar time sweet
come shut the door
for the night
now you feel its right
I know the rain come down
it come pouring down
washed my blues away
washed my blues away

I’m stuck in Medford (Oregon)

Giddy anticipation
as the wheels are touchin, dowwwn
Can’t contain excitement
once my plane is on the grouuund

Grabbing my suitcase, a’rollin
heading through the gate
I’m prayin all’s okay
cuz the flight’s a little late

a little laaaa-ay-eh-ate

Been tryna hook up, darlin
ever since the light of day-ay.
But when I call ya, honey
well your phone just rings awaaay

Awayyy – ay – eh hay

Well I, been stuck in Medford
and I don’t know what to do – ooo.
I’ve done all that I could,
tryin to get ahold of you.

I’m stuck in Medford…
wooo wooo.
I’m stuck in Medford,
what can I do?

I’m stuck in Medford…
wooo wooo.
I’m stuck in Medford,
what can I do – ooo?

See the plan’s to be out
in celebration of Thanksgiving
Holy rollers giving chase:
“Repent, you do the Devil’s bidding”

Anxiety’s a’houndin me
inside this airline
No matter how I’m callin, you
just won’t pick up the line

It was kinda short notice
so things didn’t go as planned
Plus the phone went dead
meanwhile, traffic is at hand

aaa-aat haaaand

I’m stuck in Medford…
wooo wooo.
I’m stuck in Medford,
what can I do?

I’m stuck in Medford…
wooo wooo.
I’m stuck in Medford,
what can I do-ooo?

You approach, shaking your head
so, apologetically
You say: “Traffic outta nowhere
and a dead phone battery-eee”

Somehow forgot the charger
so I couldn’t let you know.
I’m so sorry, by the way
How did your flying gooo?”

“It’s alright my love, shit happens
The flights were, such a breeze
Now I’m ever-so elated
cuz I’m with the bee’s kneeees

The beeee’s knee-heee-eee-eees

Been tryna hook up, darlin
ever since the light of day-ay.
But when I call ya, honey
well your phone just rings away

I, been stuck in Medford
and I don’t know what to do – ooo.
I’ve done all that I could,
tryin to get ahold of you.

I’m stuck in Medford…
wooo wooo.
I’m stuck in Medford,
what can I do?

I’m stuck in Medford…
wooo wooo.
I’m stuck in Medford,
what can I do – ooo?

About this poem:
This is a song that I wrote when I was dating the Scorpio Chiropractor. I'm still trying to get a melody on it - when that doesn't come, it tends to be the absolute most difficult part of the song writing process for me.

Wish I played an instrument, I am certain that would help.

Vlad To The Bone

On the day I was elected
The Russians gathered round
And they gazed at a wonder
at the joy they found
But the Ukrainian spoke up
Said leave this one alone
She could tell right away
That I was bad to the bone
Vlad to the bone
Bad to the bone
V-V-V-Vlad, V-V-V-Vlad
Vlad to the bone
I broke a thousand hearts
Before I met you
I break a thousand more honey
Before I am through
I want your country pretty baby
Yours and yours alone
I'm here to yell ya honey
That I'm Vlad to the bone

Between waking and sleeping

I'm afraid,
between waking up and sleeping
I will lose myself in desires.
That you will disappear
before sunrise.
Sleep is not a place
everyday life.
I'm afraid
longing for an unknown longing
I know well
reality of existence.
I'm afraid to be afraid
my feelings
leave without knowing how
taste your lips.

Wild, Wild, Waterfalls

We both bought into the mystery
easy lovers I suppose
kindred spirits through the ages
of the summers and the snows

We both bought into the sacred
as lovers have their codes
and I wished to walk with you,
my sweet, sweet, girl
down those sunlit dusty roads

And although we may be separated
by one hundred thousand walls
still I hear you calling,
calling me, calling,
for those wild, wild, waterfalls

We both came out of the darkness
where the streets had left us cold
as a light up on the horizon
you brought us back into the fold

We both found new tomorrows
took on our separate loads
yet I still wish to walk with you,
my sweet, sweet, love
down those sunlit dusty roads

And although we may be separated
by one hundred thousand walls
still I hear you calling,
calling me, calling,
for those wild, wild, waterfalls

Cycle's End

Oh yes there were golden moments,
I can remember quite a few,
But I cannot help recalling,
The ones that left me black-and-blue.

The times I ran and hid away,
The times I took it like a man,
Though I was just a kid and that,
Was more than one should have to stand.

My father was an angry drunk,
Sometimes he took it out on me.
Some of his abuse was verbal,
But often physical, you see.

Until one day at seventeen,
When he had backed me to the wall,
His fist was clenched with arm drawn back,
And things weren't looking good at all.

"What can I lose?" I thought, and then,
Dropped down into a fighting stance.
I knew I could not beat him but,
Felt like it was my only chance.

"Wadda you think you're gonna do?"
He then asked incredulously.
"Well, I'm not just gonna stand here,"
I said, "and let you beat on me."

He shook his head and chuckled then,
Turned round and slowly walked away.
You know, I never will forget,
The lessons that I learned that day.

The very first revelation,
That it is wrong to run and cower
When you stand up to a bully,
You take away all his power.

The other lesson learned back there,
The message that I want to send,
I vowed I'd never beat a kid,
And that the cycle would now end.

Weather The Storm

Before the storm a cold, cold breeze,
Begins to show its power.
The clouds all black and water filled,
Will burst within the hour.

And in the distant darkened sky,
There comes a flicker of flashing light.
And far off sounds that rumble and crack,
Thunder answers with all its might!

And that gray space between ground and black,
Too strong to call a shower,
Will soon be here to drench and soak,
The ground that now bears flower.

Now it nears and drops do fall,
First gentle then with full force.
The storm, it makes its pathway known,
Staying persistently on its course.

When all has past, all calm and clear,
And the sky is bright with sun,
A beautiful rainbow just might appear.
God's promise, 'tis all said and done!

Missing You

"Soaring higher and higher,
On the clouds and winds of love,
My ever yearning desire,
For you, seems not enough.

Could I reach up to turn back time,
Just to love you once again;
To sing to you my songs and rhyme,
ever hoping to ease the pain.

Again, to hold you in my arms,
to kiss the hollow of your eye,
To whisper some words of charm,
and to never say goodbye.

When all the tears have dried
there seems to be no end,
to the song my heart has cried,
No more time with you to spend.

Today, tomorrow, like yesterday seems,
my memories can't bring you back,
And I am left with empty dreams,
of reality which seems to lack."

From the Heart

Some things come straight from the brain,
Some come from the heart.
And then there's stuff from lower down,
At least that's where they start.

No matter where it's comin' from,
Still goes through your head.
Yeah, sometimes that's a problem, too,
Get tangled up in threads.

But other times there is a need,
Give a little thought,
To what you write or what you say,
Before you throw it out.

Now some folks go a diff'rent route,
Always off the cuff,
And that's okay, if that's their way,
But can be kinda rough.

Well I prefer to run 'em through,
Whole chain link by link.
I ask my heart and ask my my mind,
"Hey gonads! What you think?"

Nature's Calm

The sight of white velvet stretched across the land,
A breath frozen in midstream.
A calming quiet is at hand,
The day is such a wondrous dream.

People pass by, steady and slow
With a greeting, a smile, or a look.
And children excited with faces aglow!
A night's snowfall was all that it took.

The world seems purified from all of its sins,
A magic that only Nature provides.
It seems to promise anew, to begin,
Through the cold, a warmth born inside.

No man could hope to create an event,
With such an awesome affect.
Though some would try hard to their fullest extent,
Nature's ability commands a respect.

Not only just in its most powerful state,
But in its most gentle, too.
It has strength in its gentle, that all can relate,
Changing conscience which no human can do.

About this poem:
This poem is under my © Copyright 1999-2010 by HMc . . I Wrote this piece after a Blizzard, While I watched how the attitudes of people became kinder, calmer, and more caring after a snow storm . . Your grumpy neighbor comes out, smiles, and he/she gladly helps you clear the snow from your driveway . . . yet on a sunny day he would be his/her grumpy neighbor self . . . An Amazing thing, Snow!. . I wonder if in a place where it snows quite frequently, if it has the same affect, as in places where it doesn't snow as often. ? . . . Be Blessed Always Everybody and thank you again for your reading my work.
