first song

{Every single day I wake feeling low and down
Somethings telling me, the way it needs to be
With no faith in love and lust, she came into my life
She liked me as I am and accepted all my flaws
I gave it all to you made you special number one
Now I’m stuck between two worlds, one where you still here
Back in my own time this feeling cant unwind too near}

{Have you ever in your heart, seen a light so bright its clear
Feeling colors seeing it load, this connection brings to tear
I knew you were the one, you told me not to fear
I believed you when you said, always I will love you feel it here}

{Knowing is the key, I can see how they treat me
I’m never the one able, to be what she needs of me
This enables them giving to rite easy into leaving flight
You promised when to me, he was a distant memory}

{On that happy day you ask me could you go
After making love all day I wanted you to say
On that happy day I should have held you tight in sight
On that happy day I gave you your own way
On that happy day it echoes make you stay}

I Have

Have you ever been with someone,
Who made you lose all sense of self,
Just made your ego run away,
Put all agendas on a shelf?

I have.

Have you known a love so tender,
That it took all your pain away,
Erased all thoughts of the danger,
And made forever seem a day?

I have.

Have you felt lightning in your loins,
As if you feel that you will burst,
From the storm raging inside you,
While in sweet passion you're immersed?

I have.

Have you bathed in the afterglow,
Your bodies quivering from lust,
And been so completely sated,
As all the love from you has gushed?

I have.

Ms. Wrong

She emailed me out of the blue,
And claimed to look for love so true.
I was suspicious but I thought,
I'd play along, see what it brought.

I sent to her my alias,
Old throw-away email address.
We chatted for a little while,
I then saw through and had to smile.

Her profile said she's from the states,
Though this, in fact, was not the case.
While her page said California,
She's somewhere deep in Africa.

I've blocked her now from my I.M.,
The scammers, I've no time for them.
For ones like this there's no excuse,
Profile deleted for abuse!

My Round!

Twas Saturday night at the local pub,
But not a smile could be seen on the lads.
A visitor came but there was a small rub,
That had the whole place feeling so sad.

A Clurichaun name of Patrick McGee,
Was the guest who had caused this depression.
He had a strange quirk of magic you see,
That caused all these frowning expressions.

Each time a glass was filled up at the bar,
All the booze vanished in just a twinkling.
Any man consuming that much by far,
Would have died from what Patrick was drinking.

Then a fine wit name of Willie O'Darr,
Found a way all this madness to stop.
"Draw one for McGee!" he called to the bar,
And the imp disappeared with a pop.

Where Once Was Love

A teenage wedding, Halloween,
A Pagan priest, an ancient rite.
There was no one to stand between,
The two of them that autumn night.

He had a job, they got a place,
A second story three room flat.
What otherwise would go to waste,
They furnished their new home with that.

And then there came a baby boy,
Their blessing and again their curse.
He brought into their home such joy,
But finances became much worse.

So there were fights and arguments,
She cheated then and he did too.
The vows that they had never meant,
Were cast aside and they were through.

This happened all so long ago,
The baby boy is now a man.
The teenagers, now gray and old,
Where once was love, now nothing stands.

The Dancer

He crossed the stage in three strong leaps.
His legs looked like the trunks of trees.
His jumps so high were almost flight.
As in his prime he danced that night.

His prima partner did not show,
But that was fine with me, you know.
For in her place another flew,
The lovely little ingenue.

He threw her in the air so high,
She really seemed at times to fly.
A fairy princess in our world,
As effortless he caught the girl.

Around and round they whirled and spun,
And won the hearts of ev'ryone.
A magic moment trapped in time,
This memory of dance sublime.

I am so glad I went to see,
This performance and to be,
Awed by such a wonderous sight,
Of Rudolf Nureyev that night.

Missing a Friend

She said she loved me as a friend,
That she still cared for me.
But now the mail and messages,
Are few and far between.

Is it she fears I'm still in love,
And that for her I pine?
Thinking that by letting be,
She's only being kind?

We were good friends before we fell,
Just spoke of ev'rything,
Of art and beauty, poetry,
The gifts of life, the stings.

Yes life goes on, she has her own,
As I am leading mine.
So many things to do each day,
So very little time.

I hope someday that she will see,
This shouldn't have to end.
So we may chat from time to time,
A message, friend to friend.

Was There a Chance?

She told me it was nothing,
That I had done or said.
Which left but one conclusion,
Twas who I am instead.

Though I will always love her,
She's not in love with me.
Sure seemed it was, but sadly,
It wasn't meant to be.

If I had fought and argued,
What diff'rence would it make?
Was there a chance to change things?
Or was it much too late?

It's hard to know what action,
To take or what to say,
When someone tells you gently,
It's time to go away.

This Old Porch Swing

I sit upon this old porch swing.
The creaking, moaning sounds, it sings.
Weathered wood and rusty chains.
The youth I had, through thoughts regained.

Between the trees a flicker flash of light.
At dusk, a humid, breeze less night.
Children chasing glowing stars.
To hold them tight in Mason jars.

Barefoot babes, green tarnished knees.
Playing games between the trees.
Mother May I, Hide And Seek.
Count to ten and don't you peek.

Memories come play with me.
Fill my mind so happily.
Remember slumber time on swing.
For this my mind to me did bring.

I sit upon this old porch swing.
The creaking, moaning sounds, it sings.
Weathered wood and rusty chains.
The youth I had, through thoughts remain.

Pennies for Heaven

He came home from work and sat down,
"I don't feel so good," he said.
She went to get a cold washcloth,
When she came back he was dead.

How can a girl be a widow,
At the age of twenty-eight?
A heart attack is what they said,
What a cruel and brutal fate.

The family gathered for support,
In the basement of the church.
And people did what people do,
Try to heal each other's hurt.

The oldest daughter of the three,
Although she was barely six,
Had made her grandpa buy a tin,
Of a fancy candy mix.

This she sold to the other kids,
And she gathered up the change.
Then walked up to the coffin,
Where her fallen daddy lay.

She gently emptied out the tin,
Of coins on her fathers chest.
"Daddy never goes anywhere,
Without money," 'sall she said
