My Lucky Silver Dollar

Embedded image from another site

Yesterday was a little dismal and today is still a little gray
But I'm hoping before tomorrow comes that you will stay

We can lay under the moon and look up at the stars
We can talk about how long it takes to fly to mars
Or we don't have to say a word and just meditate on love
Give our bodies to the heavens when hell has had enough
The first second that we met wasn't true romance
She was an angel in the dark so I had to take a chance
You see Ive been searching this whole world just to meet a girl
One who knows the lyrics to my song or one sung by The Cure
Then my compass pointed in her direction when I wasn't searching for affection
I was looking in my wallet to see if I had protection
She was dancing to her own beat- - Letters to Elise
Striped pink and green socks pulled way above her knees
I could see it in her eyes they were different in the light
She wasn't standing in the sun, but I knew she was the one
So I grabbed a shiny dollar, yes a silver dollar
I didn't have any cash just my lucky silver dollar
I held it in my teeth as she came down to me
I dropped it down her top and she kissed me on my cheek
She then said lets get out of here I really hate this atmosphere
I said let me tell my friends while I finish drinking up my beer
We jumped into my truck I said my Porsche is in the shop
She laughed and said that I was funny and she thinks thats really hot
We pulled up to my house and barely made it through the door
She started tearing off my clothes and threw them on the floor
We made our way down the hall bouncing like a ball
Knocking down my family pictures and breaking holes into the walls
I kissed her on her cheek, I kissed her on her head
I kissed her on her navel, and then I kissed her on her neck
I kissed her everywhere, but we never made it to the bed
And when we were laying there breathing this is what I said

Yesterday was a little dismal and today is still a little gray
But I'm hoping before tomorrow comes that you will st..............

The next morning I woke up naked on my rug
There wasn't anybody there just a lot of empty rug
I started looking all around I must of really been knocked out
Because the angel in the dark took everything inside my house
But there was a letter on the counter it said thank you for your truck
You can find it on the highway probably burned up
Just to let you know If things were different I'd want you to be my man
But I had a really great time so you can have your silver dollar back

Seasons

Someone asked me recently,
What was my favorite season.
I had to think on that a bit,
Which one and for what reason.

Autumn is so colorful,
Ah, the smell of burning leaves.
Pumkin pies and turkey legs,
Bright sweaters with long sleeves.

Winter's crisp and cold can be,
Quite refeshing too, you know.
Gutters hung with icicles,
Over freshly fallen snow.

Swimming in the summer time,
With bikinis and short-shorts.
Lemonade and car'mel corn,
While we're watching summer sports.

But raking leaves can be a chore,
Shov'ling snow, attacks can bring.
Summer sun and heat may burn,
So that only gives the spring.

Tender, sweet young limbs unfurl,
With bloom shyly opening.
Moss spreading ov'r gentle knolls,
Ah, the loving kiss of spring.

Sad State of Affairs

People killing people,
And grownups raping kids.
The sickness and disease,
This country's on the skids.

The money is all gone,
I wonder where it went.
So after paying bills.
There's nothing to be spent.

The price of gas is high,
The cost of living too.
So many unemployed,
Just what are we to do?

You can't walk down the street,
Without a gun and knife.
Just hope to make your car,
And lock it for your life.

Hate to be a downer,
But these things are all known.
Just hope the powers that be,
Might throw us down a bone.

So help your fellow man,
He needs it much as you.
And lend a helping hand,
For you may need one too.

On Sensitivity

Being sensitive by nature's,
A blessing and a curse,
For to feel things very deeply,
Means pain can be much worse.

Being sensible about this,
I think you will agree,
That all the hurt is worth the joy,
Of sensitivity.

Insensitive means heartlessness,
And that we can't abide,
So we must take the bad with good,
From feelings deep inside.

If I should give my love to you,
Just so you are aware,
My heart is very sensitive,
Please handle it with care.

Matters of the Heart

One can never quite predict,
In matters of the heart,
At what point one should full commit,
When does the loving start?

If you lay it out too soon,
You run an awful risk,
Of singing love's unhappy tune,
A sad and aching twist.

But then, if you drag your feet,
There is an outside chance,
That you'll lose your love so sweet,
And miss out on romance.

I've heard it said that timing is,
Nine tenths of ev'rything.
But what time's right, this I quiz,
When should the lovebird sing?

Guess the thing is just to know,
Your partner down so deep,
Wait for certain signs to show,
Til then your heart just keep.

THAT MOST MAGNIFICENT TAPESTRY

Let me remember, that I am love
It's what I am created of...
For long before I came to be, this same someone I know as me
I was woven into, a glorious mystery...
Like golden thread, so very divinely spun
Then entwined into the Wholeness, of that greater One...
Just as a tiny raindrop that's drawn, out from a great vast sea
Though separate, an infinite part of...
That most magnificent tapestry...

About this poem:
My own perception of Divine Oneness, that I believe we all share. A oneness that does not see race, age, country, creed, or any of the self-imposed barriers, that we put between ourselves and others. And then we ask, "Why is there so much loneliness and suffering on this beautiful planet, that we inhabit"? We must somehow, find our way back to that sameness, and return to our true origin. To see beyond the exterior, which is only temporary-to the infinite Spirit, that created and connected all to it and to each other. As a Spiritual Advisor/Catalyst, it is part of a collection. I hope to soon complete them to share...

Mane of Moonbeams

Sparkling, long, and flowing soft, and shimmering through a comb,
A little hand ,with love, caressed each strand and knew a home.
Her eyes alight with awe to see the splendour falling there
in the magic that was moonbeams, that was grandma's silver hair.

A web of love she wove in it when plaiting it each day
and trapped the little heart that had no other place to stay.
Grandma lent her patience to the comfort of the child
and just let the little fingers roam about at eventide.

Then when the mane of moonbeams had been prettied for the night,
the child would hold that rope that led her safely to the light
of a heart that filled to bursting, and a safety so rare,
in a world that was upended, save for touching grandma's hair.

The years flew past, as swifts in flight to greet a summer's day.
The little child grew up and left the nest to fly away
to do great deeds of courage, and to plant some seeds of care,
letting other little fingers weave their patterns in her hair,

just like grandma, now long gone , had done so many years ago,
she helped them braid their patterns, and encouraged them to grow
to be full and loving people, and to laugh and share and play.
So the lesson of her grandma's mane of moonbeams lives today.

Rain

Off in the distance to the west,
The thunderheads are gathering.
A blust'ring breeze foretells the tale,
Of what will soon be happening.

The smell of damp earth fills the air,
A storm is coming there's no doubt.
The first few drops explode in dust,
As wind is whipping trees about.

The lightning's flash and thunder's roar,
From clouds so dark and ominous,
Enthralling beauty holds in awe,
Stirs feelings deep in each of us.

And then the clouds burst open wide,
Start sending torrents to the earth.
Thus quenching, drenching, pouring down,
To give us all a glad rebirth.

Going Slowly

Met her online, she seemed very nice.
As it turned out I should have thought twice.
Used and abused then left in the end,
My broken heart took a while to mend.

After some time another I met,
Perfect we seemed, at least on the net.
As it turned out I wasn't her man,
Though we're still friends, it's not what we planned.

Whirlwind romance sure can be a thrill,
But when it ends, it leaves you unfilled.
I have now learned the real value of,
Taking my time in matters of love.

So I still seek to find my true heart,
Could it be her, or will we soon part?
Guess time will tell and then we'll know,
But we've agreed, we're taking it slow.

Friendly Love

I have a friend who's very dear,
Though I've not known her long.
But still to me it's very clear,
She'd never do me wrong.

We started out to look for more,
But that was not to be.
You never know just what's in store,
Or if there's chemistry.

Still friendship means so much in life,
That you should never doubt.
Friends help you through your times of strife,
A helping hand reached out.

But I love her and she loves me
On that you may depend.
Though not romantic'lly you see,
The love of a true friend.
