"It All Starts Over Again"

We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?
We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?

I hear the screams of children running, I hear the sounds of people gunning.
I see the bombs flashing in the sky, as my mind is screaming, "Why?"
Why fight this useless battle, why fight this useless war.
In 20 years we'll all be back to fight for something more.
This scarred flag that we all fly, raising high to show our pride.
Hides the fact that we are shamed by our leaders that have lied.
Greed is the motive that our leaders use to fight.
Yet they hide behind their words and they hide behind our strife.
Their banks are packed tightly up to the brim, their futures bright while ours are dim.
They fly around in their expensive jets, while we're up to our eyes in debt.

So will we fight for our right to ignite our inner light?
Or will we fall to them all and crawl to their call?

Stand up! Scream it! We don't want any more of this.
Rise up! Speak out! We are done with this.
It all solves nothing, because in the end.
It all starts over again.

A wife sits with a baby at her home, crying as she clutches onto the phone.
In another country, in another land, there is another family that would understand.
Two apparent enemies, their families torn apart.
By a war that none of them ever had any part.
An oprhaned child sits all alone on the streets.
His parents killed by strangers marching in fleets.
The innocence in our hearts dying as our soldiers stand to fight.
The hope in our hearts dying as our soldiers fall to the plight.
They all claim that they are doing what's best, meanwhile all of our voices are oppressed.
Yet their family and friends are all protected, while the rest of us are affected.

So will we fight for our right to ignite our inner light?
Or will we fall to them all and crawl to their call?

Stand up! Scream it! We don't want any more of this.
Rise up! Speak out! We are done with this.
It all solves nothing, because in the end.
It all starts over again.

So will we fight for our right to ignite our inner light?
Or will we fall to them all and crawl to their call?

Stand up! Scream it! We don't want any more of this.
Rise up! Speak out! We are done with this.
It all solves nothing, because in the end.
It all starts over again.

We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?
We will cry, and we will shout. But will the angels hear our call?

Oh, oh, beware. It will all start over again....

About this poem:
This is obviously a war song. I'm in the middle of writing a story, and it in the main character is fighting in a war she has no choice but to participate in. I wrote this song as sort of a "background song" to them marching to an ongoing battle. It is a mix of rap/metal. Italics are of a regular, flowing singing (by a woman in my head), while the rest is harsher obviously, (this time in my head, it's a male.) However it pops up in your head is up to you though.

The Sun Will Never Shine Again

The Sun Will Never Shine Again
nor thunder will the sea.
No moonlit summer skies ahead.
There'll be no nights of ecstacy.

Tomorrow's only promise now
is barren emptiness.
The dazzling world
I once saw through raptured eyes
has fallen cold and colorless.

I remember laughter with you.
Your silhouette against the sunset captured me.
The dazzling autumn days held no glory next to you,
the starlit sky no magesty.
My very life began with you.

Now that you're gone
there's nothing left to do but cry.
Two lovers torn apart
though love will never die.
and since you've gone away
I know the sun will never shine
for me.

The sun will never shine again...

People say This

Today's a new day
so let's start a fresh
dancing and singing
to a new wor-ld

(People say this
people say that
words get twisted
this way and that)

churning and burning
laughing and dancing
spinning to-get-her
falling head over heel

(people)chorus

hoping and praying
for a new day a
listening and singing
turning and spinning

(people)chorus

heart in a spin in
not up nor down
loving and giving
of the new day a

(people say this
people say that
words get twisted
this way and that)

...if i could

If i could stare at you
Dripping like dew
If i could take you away
A town away new

If i could live the night
Could Only with you
If i could wake up next
Only beside you...

Lilac and Rain

On the the outside, you look peaceful
But I see the storms in your eyes
You've got memories of broken hearts
And the sadness of too many goodbyes

On the inside you've a strange world
Peopled by the children of dreams
You've got open arms and lullabies
But in the distance you can still hear the screams

(ch)
And when you put it all together now
The mixture seems quite strange
Hot summer nights, city lights
Lilac and rain

On the outskirts of your small town
You can listen to the stories of fall
They've got misty eyes and purple hearts
And rose colored glasses for all

(ch)
But it's lonely here in winter time
And nothing ever seems to change
Long winter nights, city lights
Lilac and rain

(bridge)
So you live with the hope
That you'll someday meet a stranger
Who will take you like you've never been before

Darling, don't you know
That you're never out of danger
No matter who comes knocking at your door

So if I add to your discomfort
You know I can always go
I'll just disappear back to somewhere else
Where I can walk in the soft autumn snow

(ch)
But if you should feel you need me
You know I'd feel the same
And I could get by, sharing your
Lilac and rain

About this poem:
Yet another stinkin' lost love song. This one about my troubled ex-fiance' in Georgia, who's 3-year old had been murdered by her previous husband, who also happened to be chief of police. Long story short, I held on the best I could, but she eventually took her own life in order to be with her daughter. I never wrote about that one, some things just don't lend themselves to words.

the girl

the girl that walked on glass. now it is broken and she is free at last. free to travel the roads that bound her, free to travel the roads that unwind , leaving leaving the world she left behind. the girl that walked on glass , now it is broken and she is free at last. by peggy anne

Set Me Free

I can't believe what I am seeing
Ego burned into my eyes
You say that love is in the making
All I hear is a bevy of lies
A twist of shadows hidden in truth
A host of apathy as your proof
Bring me to the slaughter house
I've begged you so many times
Taste the bitterness inside me
Still you continue to commit the crime

Can you ever forgive me
For the things you've done
A fistful of anger
To block out the sun
Blind my eyes so I can't see
Make me deaf and set me free

"It'll kill the core" I know you've said
"If one leaves the rest are dead"
Now all I hear are fake transmissions
And all I see are new acquisitions
Falling in place like a pawn on a board
Picking up parts that were already scored

Can you ever forgive me
For the things you've done
A fistful of anger
To block out the sun
Blind my eyes so I can't see
Make me deaf and set me free

How The Light Reflects

Play it just that way son
Said the old man with a smile
'Cause when you play it sad and sweet
It feels alright for awhile

And the stained glass of his eyes
Was like a worn out movie screen
With screenplays of lost promises
False hearts, and broken dreams

(ch)
He said; I've searched the world for answers
But I haven't found them yet
It's never quite the way it seems
It's how the light reflects

In the angry city evenings
One can vaguely hear the cries
Of the children born in hunger
And the anger borne in lies

And the night holds desperate promise
But it wants to shred your soul
If you stare into those lights too long
You know you'll lose control

(ch)
You try to put the past behind you
But you never quite forget
It's not the game that draws the crowd
It's how the light reflects

So I sit here on the beach
An old guitar in weathered hands
And think about the days I used to
Wander through this land

And the ripples on the sea
Reflects the light of a billion stars
While the memories that I run from
Start to gather around my heart

(ch)
Oh, I thought I'd lost so much there
As I paid my last respects
But it's not the pain that wounds the heart
It's how the light reflects

why did she kill that child..?

One day I was passing a door of a labor room in a hospital
I heard a scream of a lady from inside that room
I felt she was suffering more pain that cannot control her
It hurt my inner soul and I asked one of the bystanders there
Who is crying and why she is doing like this?
One told me, she is doing an abortion by a doctor
Doctor trying to put medicine to her uterus
To cut all relationships from that mother with the child
That procedure touches into that motherhood
And it was not sufferable for her
That makes more pain than pain of a delivery of a child...
After half an hour she came out and walked slowly to home
And she will come back tomorrow to complete the procedure
And to clear all deposits inside
Tonight she cannot sleep well
Bcuz the medicine will clean all connection of that child from her
I thought why she ready to do that...
Thousands of couples are spending millions for a child
And for their dream to come true...
I thought she killed that child anyway
It may be a boy or girl with their face on earth….

FRIEND

Say friend, don't I know you ?
You've been, around here before.
But now, come to think of it
I can't place, just who you are.

But you sure seem so familar,
Say now, don't you know me ?
Yeah, friend I'm sure I know you,
So, tell me who could you be ?

Or, maybe you just remind me,
of this old pal of mine.
Someone, I have needed,
to have a talk with for sometime.

But he never really wants to hear,
what I've got to say.
So, he just tries to ignore me,
hoping, I'll soon go away.

And friend, I must tell you,
You're not looking so well.
Not, to put you down none,
But you're looking like hell.

See how your hands keep shaking,
while you're holding that glass.
Friend, you sure could use a shave,
Say when have you eaten last ?

Hey friend ! Can't you hear that bartender ?
Shouting it's closing time !
I'd like to hail us a cab,
But, you've spent our last dime.

You keep sitting here, just drinking.
Don't you care, about nothing else ?
Please friend won't you look at me... I'm talking.
Or can't you bear, to even... take a look at yourself ?

About this poem:
This poem/song just came together, after seeing a drunk, having a conversation with himself in a bar-room mirror. It truly made me sad, at the time. aware3
