Foolish Man

I suffer in my silence since you've gone away
Not knowing the reason why haunts me everyday
Lost in confusion and trying to understand
Why I feel like such a foolish man

A foolish man is what I am for loving you
And now that your gone I don't what i'll do

Everybody said that we were meant to be together
I believed the lie our love would last forever
You believed something else, I guess I wasn't
part of your plans
You left me looking like such a foolish man

A foolish man is what I am for loving you
And now that your gone I don't know what i'll do

Winters kiss was cold but not as cold as your goodbye
The clouds can hide the sun but not the tears in my eyes
I wake up alone every morning to face who I am
Just a lonely foolish man

A foolish man is what I am for loving you
And now that your gone I don't know what i'll do

Such a foolish man that's what I am, such a foolish man that's what I am,such a foolish man,such a foolish man.......

their will awakes

when the winter was over
you'll return there to find me
and my memories filled you with light

you'll remember my beauty
you'll remember desire
as my memories filled you with light

i am the sun in the flame
cold from the flame turns away
and in these winds came a change
you'll awake...

Humans walk through these fields of delight
but I want you to know
desperation's the tenderest trap
so gently you go
what will it take
For their will to awake

when mans beautiful cults of desire
have left you for dead
isolation will cradle the lies
of things left unsaid
what will it take
for their will to awake

you'll look to the heavens above
and taste it's deceit
these temptations have blinded desires
to sleep at their feet
what will it take
for there will to awake

and I'll hear them call out your name
invoking the fates
chances are you've travelled too far
in stirring their hate
what will it take
nightmare awakes
their will awakes

"Empty Spaces And Broken Parts" 7-8-09

I loved a girl
who didn't love me back
she was my whole world
but it was all a act

she had me think she was so sweet
but i turned her bad
like i tore off her wings
and broke her halo in half
but now i see
she was just a sociopath

and if i knew then what i know now
i would have never built my life around you
and would of never helped you tear it down

and in the end im better off wihout
you around
but the damage has been done
no i won't trust
another soul with my heart
cuz of you i don't feel much
except empty spaces
where these broken parts
fit once.....

"The After Thought Of A Start" 8-26-11

I can't give you the world
but i'd make you mine

and i can't always buy you exspensive things
like fine jewery
but you could wrap me around your finger
and for you i'd always shine

i could be
anytihg
just tell me
who you'd want

i can be
sensitve and so sweet
or confidant and strong

no i can't give you the world
but i'd fall for you like the stars
and for what it's worth
if anything
you could take my heart

i just wanna get to know you
to show you
i'm so much more
than first impressions might tell you
even before
the after thought of a start.....

Four Leaf Clover

If love is black and white why am I red all over
I dont want to fight
I just want to run for cover
But if you push me again
Im telling you now
That its the end , Its the end of your four leaf clover

Of this one true love
Two hearts that beat as one
Without a doubt
Three strikes your out
Dont wanna hear it anymore
Its the end,Its the end of your four leaf clover

Lucky in the world
Everything that you do
Seems to turn to gold for you
But you cant sell a heart thats black
What we had aint coming back
Cause its the end, Its the end of your four leaf clover

Love is black and white
There aint no shades of grey
I turn my back to the wind
Sorry things turned out this way
Now Im facing the Sun
Cause its over, gonna find me a four leaf clover.

All titles sound like cliches :)

Here’s a song you danced to for a while, but never wrote
About something almost real, like a famous author quote
Here’s a twist of words for you, to help you redefine
And here’s a glass of wine to me, who put the I in “mine”

The time’s too short, we should make it worthwhile
The distance between us exceeds a good mile
Don’t try to fix your hair, I’ll run my fingers through
And mess it up again, just like I always do

Your fingers caress gently the chords that you have tamed
For years, while thinking of things that you restrained
Obsessions, broken wings, lost ones, and constant change
Small pieces of your soul that had to rearrange

We were enough for this song to be born incomplete
In the iron diamonds city, that’s pulsing to the beat
So raw and so intense, brought together by fate
Perhaps too soon for some, for others way too late.

Chorus:

Do not try to resist it, just listen to my story
About a sweet attempt, and its attempted glory
Don’t try to make it last, it’s nothing but a state
The ramblings of a drunk, demanding soul-mate

Lover Bleed

we ran so fast -ya know we couldn't slow down
we flew so high - we couldn't see the ground
we fell so hard and it isn't right
we're far apart, I think I might

have been dreaming. was I just dreamin?
on sunday...sunday morning

I wrote a note, ya know I tried to say
I love you so I gotta get away
I'll find you when you find yourself
and this is real, I think, or else...

I was dreaming...just dreamin...
on sunday...sunday morning

out on a limb, cut away the excess
he's a knight, she's a train-wreck - a big mess
lost sight of what you really need
so take a bite, and watch your lover bleed

so line them up, and knock them down
light it up, let's leave the ground
we're out of luck, you know we're out of time
so shut your mouth and just be mine

we're dreamin, just dreaming
on sunday, sunday morning

out of the gate, but still in deep shit
up late - tryin to keep this
love alive what we really need
take a bite, watch your lover bleed

About this poem:
I knew someone last year. If things would have different, we may have been more than friends, as it was I became part of her support system as she tried to kick alchoholism. she was in a re-hab facility for 6 months. she did not.... that is to say..... I've heard rumors. one can try, but must walk away sometimes. some people you cannot help. she inspired a few songs. it's really sad, and tragic. I'd never dealt with that evil of an addiction. not like that. a learning experience, to be sure. some people are only in your life for a moment. like a shooting star, if you will. flash! zip! gone.

train wreck (for micheal)

I'm a train wreck, all aboard.
I'm a never was, nevermore.
I'm a dark cloud pourin rain
an effort made in vain
to keep warm

I should've been the one
to pass away from this place
I'd have given anything to see his face
why'd it have to be
him instead of me?

well, this isn't what I expected
and life shouldn't
be this way
from the outside lookin in
it looks like i could win
but I'm rejected

am I so easy to walk away from
no-one stays I'm
feelin like a big mistake
now it's gettin hard to see
the point of me

lifetime

I was born such a long time ago
I've had many dreams
and I've got a long way to go
farther than it seems

no matter how hard I try
I can't get you out of my mind
even though we said goodbye
the love you gave to me
will last a lifetime

I wear my old soul on my sleeve
I'm walkin in these shoes
I'm tryin hard to believe
I'll get over these blues

no matter how much time goes by
I'm just not satisfied
no need to have another try
I've loved and I've died
through many lifetimes

my family wants to know I'm fine
I tell them I'm okay
I'm earning my wings, I'll fly
don't know how to say

I want some things not meant for me
I wasted what I had
must learn to let your memory
make me feel glad
for the rest
of my lifetime

'smile'! a song

welcome to my world, come in there's room for you.
leave your troubles on the doorstep.
the fire is burnin bright, I'm glad to be alive.
tell me something about yourself.
and if we find some common ground
I think we might just hang around
for a while
so smile for me
the snow has gone away, the sun is comin our way
days of never ending
not goin to waste my time, every minute is just fine.
surrounded by such beauty.
and if we find some common ground I think we might just hang around
for a while
so smile for me
here at the end of the song I'm thinking what went wrong
with the world around me
the truth is evident - old ways are nearly spent
at least that's what I see
and if we find some common ground
I think we might just hang around
take a walk with me and what we'll see
will make us smile for a little while
