When I think of you
When the darkness turns to gray with the sun's first soft ray making all the world look new ,it is then I think of you.
When the dew kissed rose I see, birds singing from the trees to welcome day as they do ,it is then I think of you.
When soft winds arouse the trees with a gentle summer breeze drying off the morning dew, it is then I think of you.
When the sun glides across the sky settling into its mid day high with cotton clouds against the blue, it is then I think of you.
When there's afternoon thundershowers lasting for a few dark hours and then the raindrops cease to few, it is then I think of you.
When the rainbow then appears erasing all the storms dark fears, the sky again is baby blue, it is then I think of you.
When I see the orange sunset reminding me how we first met and then the sun sinks out of view, it is then I think of you.
When the evening shadows fall starts the crickets lonely call giving the fireflies their cue, it is then I think of you.
When twinkling stars adorn the night accompanied by the moon's pale light, beams dancing on the distant hue, it is then I think of you.
When in my dreams I often see fantasies of you and me and I know my love is true, it is then I think of you.

It is about the differing results of how we react to a warning.
Pain is my friend
Seems like Pain,
Pain is my only friend,
Yeah, Me and Pain are lonely old friends,
I said "Hello, How are you?, How you been?",
When Pain came and seen me again,
See She's a Pain I'm still caught up in,
A Pain I don't think ever ends,
Maybe Baby made a hole I can't mend,
When pain came to see me,
Earlier this evening,
Pain came and seen me again...
Pain is my only friend,
Yeah, Me and Pain are lonely old friends,

Maybe in New Mexico,
I don't know...,
Some time ago...,
I met a leather man out on the road,
Crease and fold,
Bent and old,
Had the saddest story ever told,
Chill your soul,
Cut the bone,
He said "I been on a roll,
On the road,
I been on a roll for so long,
It's so wrong...,
He said "What's left of me is cold,
Bought and sold,
Had no one to hold for so long,
It's so wrong...",
He said "No place feels like home,
No, No place feels like home...,
No place has felt like home for so long",
Saddest story ever told...,
"This path is one I chose",
On he goes,
"Up and down the oceans coast,
On a boat,
With nothing of my own,
All alone,
In Alaska where its cold,
With freezing snows,
Spent some time in Mexico,
Way down below,
But no matter where I go,

Playing the Loners Game
I'm alone and I guess that's okay,
She said she didn't want me anymore,
So, I moved away,
My biggest mistake,--
Playing the loners game
A possible dream becomes a nightmare,
And as that nightmare becomes a fact,
And as the clouds clear from last nights storm in your mind,
You place down the bottle- to watch another sunrise,
Just to damn yourself; no way to justify, you can't go back
You go to bed, lay there,
You can't sleep,
You haven't ate nothing for days, you don't care,
Yet, you know this isn't me,--
Endlessly wondering what to do now?
Which way to present yourself how?
How to wear a smile behind this frown?--
I'm on my own now and I guess that's okay,
She said she doesn't love me anymore,
So, I'm moving farther and farther away,

About this poem:
The poem/song I wrote is complicated, yet; understandable. I grew up in the Army traveling from one state to the next, so by the time I hit my teenage years I came to realize that I was/am a loner! I really never belonged or fit in anywhere. The girls liked me and the boys wanted to fight me!! lol Til one day in December of 1988, I met this girl, she was 16 and I was 18; and from that point on life gave purpose! The word loner no longer existed. Unfortunatly, over the span of 30 years being together our love lost it's luster. A little over a year ago she told me she no longer loved, nor; wanted me anymore and that she's felt that way for a long time. When I talked of future travels out of state and perhaps living there for awhile, her thought of travels are to the mailbox! lol

I am the definition of insanity
My Love for you keeps throwing me into the flames yet I keep running back into your arms, hoping something has changed ....
Nothing Ever Changes, We continue to run around in this endless circle,
Me: Lost & Confused, Hurting inside, tears on the outside, running down my face
You: Laughing, telling jokes, happy in your love, clueless that I'm in pain, caused by you.... Can't seem to explain....
Here we are, so many years later, so many tears I've cried, so much my heart has been through.... All For You and You have no clue that I've died!!! You swear you love me but Only in words!!! Only in Your words!!!!
How can you say you love me when all I do, upsets you
How can you say you love me and say such mean and hateful Words??? Your Love is insanity.... That is so clear to me..... And Yet...
I've made excuses, so many excuses for the way You've been treating me.... Excuses as to why I return to allow more pain to come from you....
You have broken my Dreams of You, of Us .... You've broken me. I was already broken when you met me, swore you'd fix me..... I was the one trying so hard, dying so hard to fix You...
Insanity, The Definition Of insanity is Me here now, still hurting as I try to keep my distance from you, while finding myself falling for it All, All over again.... Over again
So tired of feeling broken and dead watching you live like nothing has ever happened.... Listening as You Tell me you love me!!!! Swearing I've hurt you just as much as you have me!!!
If that were so true, Why am I always the one with tears in my eyes and scars on my heart..... Tell me.... Why am I the one with tears in my eyes and scars on my heart and you seem to prance around careless and free....
