A factory full of odds and ends, assembled and arranged in lines by non-mechanical beings.
Punchdrunk time cards chart their lives through typical weeks with typical tasks.
Printing the barcodes, scanning the barcoded things.
Plotting points on a graph, crunching numbers - like a cog in a machine.

Pail of water,
Where is Jill?,
Jack got some magic beans for sale?,
Someone show me a wishing well,
What happened to the fairy tales...?,
See I remember when that
Humpty Dumpty
Was picking up pieces,
Little Bo Peep
Was chasing her sheep
And Goldilocks
Was locked up with the
Three bears sleeping,
What happened to the fairy tales
I used to believe in?
What happened to the fairy tales,
Seems nobody reads them,
They sit upon the library shelves and
Few ever see them,
And new generations have nothing to believe in,
Tell me what happened to the fairy tales...,
What happened to my fairy tale...?

It's Liberty or Death,
Until my dying breath,
Libertas Aut Mors!,
Re-forge the broken sword,
War to end all wars,
What are we fighting for?,
Liberty or I can't function,
Mutually Assured Destruction,
Mutiny aboard the Dutchman,
Liberty or Death!,
Yes!...,
Liberty or death!,
Libertas Aut Mors!,
She holds a flaming torch,
What are we fighting for?
Liberty!,... I mean it,
Liberty!,... I bleed it,
Liberty!,... I scream it,
Liberty!...,
Or Death!

One shadow cast caught in itself.
Fear induced myopia with matters of the heart.
To cascade alone, or know loss?
Each will give birth to sorrow, and this tired heart can only take so much.
Lost in the fog, marooned with a monster - the world shrunk in size to a staring contest, and the end of hope was the space in between, cradled in the confines of another's blindspot.
Dark diluted light.
Now grey where once white, but deluded eyes can't tell the white from the grey or the grey from the black.
So the dark becomes home.
And I know the dark, an awful place to visit, dead ends on all sides.

About this poem:
When someone who does not know how to express love has children, they pass that inability on to their child. This coupled with knowing how things can go wrong in life, creates a fear of closeness in that child because already being fragile generates the resignation of feeling like any loss will be to much to take.

the dark swam down from the ceiling.. to a world all studded with stars
and she turned the key in her pickup.. and drove home like all the rest of the cars
she waited for a noise like a phone ring.. to break up
all the stories in her mind
and the lights that stalled all her journey.. made her think for a second of the blind
now I walked up the hill by the dockyard.. because I saw
her name on the screen
just then a bird flew out
of a building.. and I forgot
about the ghost in the machine
and I'm far, far.. from mean
the cafe played songs from the sixties.. and the waitress had a smile like a dream
and she wrote down her number
on my napkin.. and I forgot
about the ghost in the machine
she hot showered alone in her apartment.. hearing lovers
wreck beds through the wall
and her mom rang to say that she loved her.. and she cried when she knew she was gone
see a memory's just a memory if you let it.. and your time is like a poem in your mind
but some of us just can't write a love song.. and for some there ain't no other kind
and I'm far, far.. from mean
I lit my cigarette with the lighter she bought me.. I felt no guilt although I knew that I should
and I finished my coffee around midnight.. to the strains of "johnny b goode"
see a marriage is just a marriage
if you let it.. and a promise is made a promise by time
through the years I've learned life
is a poem.. and some of us just don't want to rhyme
and I'm far, far.. from mean

It's a long journey
And a hard fate.
There is no elevator going back.
Falls and take-offs again!
I play my life
Like plaing music notes.
I never stop by staircases
And floors.
Only one way ticket.
There is no choice,
Questions and answers.
Who drew a line of fate
On my hand?
And why does it lead me to you ?
I will reach the clouds on foot.
Only that stage from now
Seems to be very difficult.....

Walking down these empty roads
My mandolin at my side
searching for the lost melodies
That are buried deep in my mind
It's like searching for a ghost
Although I feel them in my soul
I follow the notes that I hear
But they disappear like melting snow
I'm Lost in Hidden Melodies
That I've yet to recover
Holding on to the echoes
Of the melodies I can't uncover
I hear a whisper of a tune
But it fades away so fast
I always try to chase it down
But the music never lasts
It's like searching for a ghost
They disappear like melting snow
I follow the notes that I hear
I can feel them burn my soul
I'm Lost in Hidden Melodies
Of the music I can't uncover
Holding on to the echoes
That I've yet to recover
I've strummed my heart out
Yet my search persists
Each song I play my soul into
Each note played by wrist
Even if I never find them again
The melodies not heard but felt.
I'll keep chasing after them
Thier imprint on my heart'll never melt

In the realm of twilight's veil, where darkness reigns supreme
A tale unfolds, of ancient pain, a war that can't redeem.
Elves, pure and fair, verses drow, twisted and cruel,
Bound by hatred's chains, forever locked in duel.
Eternal strife, shadows collide,
The ageless battle will forever ride.
Bitter scars carve their mark tonight,
As the children suffer, trapped in this fight.
Moonlit glades bear witness to the sorrow and despair,
As silver tears fall softly, sacred melodies in the air.
Elven kin, armored bright, resist the Drow's deceit,
But the treacherous Drow's, nocturnal whispers cruelly meet.
Eternal strife, shadows collide,
The ageless battle will forever ride.
Bitter scars carve their mark tonight,
As the children suffer, trapped in this fight.
Blood-soaked ground, echoes of history haunt,
A never-ending cycle, destiny's relentless taunt.
Will the future break free, or forever stay the same?
Only time will tell, as tears merge with the rain.
Elven children, innocent souls caught in the crossfire,
Their laughter fading, replaced by fear, as the world conspires.
But a glimmer of hope still pierces through the night,
As valiant heroes rise, fueled by compassion's light.
Eternal strife, shadows collide,
The ageless battle will forever ride.
Bitter scars carve their mark tonight,
As the children suffer, trapped in this fight.
So let us stand together, united, unafraid,
Break the chains of hatred, a new path to be made.
For the children we fight, their future in our hands,
In this bitter war, may peace and love once again expand.
Eternal Strife, Endless Shadows the echoes of a timeless war,
A haunting melody that has scarred us forevermore.

Occasionally…
I desire the company of a gentleman,
Someone mature and wise.
A man who knows his own worth,
But is also aware of mine.
A man who…
Doesn’t feel the need to pretend he knows it all;
He listens and reflects.
The things we’d share would bring to bear
Our mutual respect.
Kind and content, faithful and true,
These would be some of his traits.
Understanding, strong and brave too,
Would certainly suffice as good gifts.
And what about his company in places of privacy,
When there’s nobody else there but us?
Well, just as a gentleman never kisses and tells,
That’s not something a lady’d discuss.

In the shadowy smokey haze she stands,
mesmerized by his fingers dancing on the keys,
he feels her presence, not of this plane,
she feels his magic, playing with her soul,
too late now, destiny in motion,
she sways back and forth to his entrancing rhythm,
taking in the pounding of staggering passion,
each sound he directs, to be imprinted inside her,
their fate has started her beauty aglow,
he tunes in the universe, with her mind entangled,
making a symphony of love,
purposefully planned, from ages ago,
he sends her his music, through the air it floats,
now they are one, in the same song,
a child was born from the notes on those sheets,
their time together, lives on and on
