RE: cures and remedies

That's a long time indeed but you did save the life of an innocent and helpless snaillaugh

RE: cures and remedies

You can also soak a cotton ball in vinegar, squeeze out the excess vinegar and tape that over the wart (try to avoid contact with the surrounding skin). Change daily until the wart is gone. You get to kill the wart and avoid any unpleasent confrontation from the Snail's rights groups. laugh

The Nanny State

I doubt this has much to with fear of lawsuits. The state's own statistics, claim that of more than 640,000 children who attend camps, less than two-tenths of one percent are injured in any manner.

In any case, I don't think this constitutes a huge problem that needs to be dealt with in this way or at all for that matter. This reeks of yet another way for the state to extort money and call it looking after children. What other reason could one come up with to explain why the state of New York or any other state would require any program offering two or more physical activities from their risk list to pay a $200 registration fee and have medical staff on hand.

Next thing you know, the state will be telling us how to raise our children, what disciplinary action we can and cannot take, etc... Oh wait, they're already doing that
doh

The Nanny State

This is just another example of a well meaning but misguided government entity trying to do what best for us.

New York State legislators have targeted freeze tag, kickball and dodgeball as kids' games posing a "significant risk of injury" that must now be regulated at day camps, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

The rest is available at:

Fortunately, shortly after this report came out the bureaucrats backed off.

Do we really need the government to regulate children's games, summer camp, etc??? This coming from the same government that's so concerned about childhood obesity. It would seem they would encourage physical activity and alow kids to be kids..

RE: Obama should not be elected to a 2nd term

Perhaps so but I'd be willing to bet that ice cream parlor would actually be able to deliver on the Vanilla. I don't have the same faith where President Obama's concerned. He's a great campaigner and orator and that's about all I've seen.

RE: Muslims please, dont bother abt book burning.

Hey Rumyet, This is one of the more positive ways I've seen anyone address this issue. If you are a Muslim, we need more people like you from the Islamic faith speaking against some of the extreem reactions to the stupid and inciteful Quran burnings. If you're not a Muslim, you're one of the few I've seen speak to the Muslim population in an understanding tone. Regardless, I hope the more moderates from the Islamic faith are paying more attention to things like this and less to the stupidity of those who lack religious tolerance.

RE: Wealth for the common good

There's some truth to this but you fail to see the amount of welfare adn unfettered spending in the name of "social programs" Besides, the Nanny State as I referred to it is much more encompassing and while economics is the crux, it also has a lot to do with the state taking the role of responsibility for taking care of most of our needs. They become our protector and are more than willing to do whatever they feel is necessary to protect us. All that really does is create a velvet glove form of "nice" Fascism or socialism. What they should be doing is creating an environment where people can succeed for themselves. That's not what's happening and getting progressively worse as time goes on. Personally, I don't need the government to tell me what is right or wrong, what I should eat to be healthy, how to raise my children, how I should think, etc...

RE: Wealth for the common good

To lump all conservatives into a neat little category of cold blooded haters is rather unfair don't you think? Does that mean the other 99% of the world's population are bleeding heart liberals? I think not. And, are you really trying to guilt people into allowing some liberal, progressive or whatever their calling themselves this week, to take our money without our permission. That's what this seems like.

If you or anyone else wants to be creative, sing songs, make art be kind, etc... One would think they would start by creating their own means to persue these lofty ideals or is this the method of obtaining the necessary funds i.e trying to guilt people into giving the well meaning but financialy unsound liberals access to their funds. That's a hell of a fund raising strategy and one would think if one is asking for a hand out, they would ask a little nicer rather than being insulting and disrespectful.

Thanks but I for one will spend my money of things and organizations that I see fit and worthy of such funds. I don't need the Nanny state or some well meaning Liberal telling me what I should or should not do. And I sure as hell don't need them in my pockets

I'll take that as a compliment coming from a conspiracy theorist like you. laugh

RE: Obama 2012! YES WE CAN again! Support Obama and keep working for american prosperity!

Deception and half truths are the name of the game nowadays. Honestly, people need to look at different issues from different perspectives and discover things for themselves instead of listening to some political mouthpiece.

RE: Obama 2012! YES WE CAN again! Support Obama and keep working for american prosperity!

Thanks Freddy and to those interested, this poll is sitting at 72% against President Obama. It appears Dude will not be a happy man in 2012 but that'll give him plenty of time to discuss the evil Trumpies, Repubeheads, etc... laugh

RE: Want to balance the budget and get us out of debt?

Right, let me know if you or anyone else finds it. laugh

RE: Want to balance the budget and get us out of debt?

According to Snopes this is a hoax (not sure if you meant it as a joke or not). The normal distribution of IQ scores goes like this and there's no meaningful rating above 150 or below 50:

Over 140 - Genius or near genius
120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence
110 - 119 - Superior intelligence
90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence
80 - 89 - Dullness
70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency
Under 70 - Definite feeble-mindedness

Also, very odd that the Presidents lised show almost exclusively republicans on the lower end of the scale.

182 William J. Clinton (D)
175 James E. Carter (D)
174 John F. Kennedy (D)
155 Richard M. Nixon (R)
147 Franklin D. Roosevelt (D)
132 Harry Truman (D)
126 Lyndon B. Johnson (D)
122 Dwight D. Eisenhower (R)
121 Gerald Ford (R)
105 Ronald Reagan (R)
098 George HW Bush (R)
091 George W. Bush (R)

RE: Obama 2012! YES WE CAN again! Support Obama and keep working for american prosperity!

Let's be fair Conrad. He's only a war monger because President Obama did it. Had Bush been in office, there would be "Bushney's a war monger" comments.

Honestly, he has no clue about right or wrong. It's really very simple. President Obama can do no wrong and he'll (Dude) will be contrite to anyone who doesn't see things his way. He's quite simply a fan of Obama's yet he fails to understand fan is an abbreviation for the word fanatic.

RE: Obama 2012! YES WE CAN again! Support Obama and keep working for american prosperity!

Dud, Dude,

I'm not concerned about my job. I enjoy it but if it were to go away I would be just fine. Besides, I'm one of those rich Bushneys you're so phobic aboutlaugh So, money is the least of my worries.

I'm actually shocked that you're so negative about Afghanistan since the chosen one thinks so highly of it. Then again, according to campaign promise 4264.5.23, we were already supposed to be out of here.

I think President Obama is going to have a really tough time explaining his record on promise keeping during the next election. Last time he ran on what he was going to be able to do, this time he has a clear record that he'll have to answer to.

RE: Would you vote for Donald Trump for President?

That's the new style... C'mon.... give the man a breaklaugh

RE: Would you vote for Donald Trump for President?

I actually thought Clinton was going to win for a while there. The thing is, ther may have been some male chauvinists behavior but as I recall (and I may be wrong), he won a majority of the women's votes as well.

President Obama, IMO is a master of public speaking even if he uses a tele prompter. He was well versed in knowing and saying exactly what the people wanted to hear. Clinton, while not a bad public speaker did not send as clear a message. Unfortunately, President Obama has gone from an unknown to a known person. He's not going to be able to pull off the same magic in a re-election campaign.

President Bush provided the motivation before and is responsible for some of the problems that still exists today but we're much worse off today than we were before President Obama took office. That and the fact that he's failed to keep most of his promises is going to bite him in the butt. Might not be a bad time for Clinton to challenge him for the democratic nomination. Would be interesting if nothing else.

RE: Would you vote for Donald Trump for President?

Nope, her and President Obama are birds of a feather, they flock us together. laugh

RE: Would you vote for Donald Trump for President?

But they're great at giving us the business.laugh

The Reps need to come up with someone a little less tainted. DT may very well have the skills necessary but those have been overshadowed by all the publicty and his public image. The Reps need to move away from folks Like Huckabee and DT because they have simply provided too much ammunition to the Dems through their extensive TV roles.

In any case, I couldn't see myself voting for him unless he won the GOP nomination and was running against President Obama. Frankly, I would almost vote for anyone rather than see a 2nd term for P. Obama.

RE: women

It's in the mail..laugh

RE: women

I don't know that they should be banned but I do think they should have to be removed for identification purposes when required i.e. when checking in for a flight, applying for and receiving a drivers liscense, etc...

They don't remove the covers here when checking into the airport so who's to say who or what's under that cover. And it would be really silly to have a drivers liscense with a photo of a veil clad person. Though I guess that would make it easier for people to use each other's liscenses. laugh

A little morning humor

A man was dining in a fancy restaurant and there was a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He had been checking her out since he sat down, but lacked the nerve to speak to her.

Suddenly she sneezed, and her glass eye came flying out of its socket toward the man. He reflexively reached out, grabbed it out of the air, and handed it back.

'Oh my, I am so sorry,' the woman said as she popped her eye back in place...

'Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you,' she said.

They enjoyed a wonderful dinner together, and afterward went to the theater and later had drinks. They talked, they laughed, she shared her deepest dreams and he shared his. She listened.

After paying for everything, she asked him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful, wonderful time.

The next morning, she cooked a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy was amazed. Everything had been SO incredible! 'You know,' he said, 'you are the perfect woman. Do you treat every guy you meet this way?'

'No,' she replied... (scroll down)

My bad, this is a poll. Maybe these should start going under jokes..laugh 70% opposed to 30% for. Thanks for keeping us informed Dude.. laugh

RE: Obama 2012! YES WE CAN again! Support Obama and keep working for american prosperity!

Maybe it's just me but I haven't seen Dude's threads in the normal Poll format lately. Could it be because the polls about President Obama have been negative lately? laugh The fact is they have been negative. Dude is saavylaugh

RE: Republicans are willing to shutdown the government...again

Ooby, I posted this in another thread.

Here's the tax rates for US tax payers.

The wealthy are paying between 36 & 39.6%. Are you suggesting they need to pay more income tax? If so, how's much will be enough?

Last evening on CNN one of the Democratic congressment being interviewed mentioned that if the Bush Tax Cuts had been lifted it would have resulted in another $488 billion in revenue which means we would still be operating in a defecit of $1.1 trillion dollars for FY-11.

These number vary depending on which news agency or political party is reporting them but what is more consistant is the assertion that the bulk of those tax cuts affect families making less than $250,000.

Anyway, here's the income tax table for married couples. The rates for single earners is higher.

Tax Rate/2011
Married Couples Filing Jointly Most Single Filers

10% Not over $17,050 Not over $8,525
15% $17,050 - $69,300 $8,525 - $34,650
25% $69,300 - $139,850 $34,650 - $83,900
28% $139,850 - $235,550 $83,900 - $194,150
36% $235,550 - $380,500 $194,150 - $380,500
39.6% Over $380,500 Over $380,500

So, how much would be enough? Even with the removal of the Bush tax cuts we're still operating in the red to the tune of $1.1 Trillion dollars.

BTW, I'm a reasonable person and as you mention in this post, those bonus payments are extreemly excessive, especially to companies we the people have recently bailed out.

RE: Republicans are willing to shutdown the government...again

Of course they do. No sense of responsibility whatsoever. The lot of them need to go. God help me if I ran my personal finances in the same manner the government does.

RE: Obama 2012! YES WE CAN again! Support Obama and keep working for american prosperity!

This says a lot for your integrity and sense of fair play. As I recall you once supported President Obama correct? In any case, your post is correct. If we fail to get rid of the extreemist in both camps we're screwed.
