Momma do you remember (Alzheimer's)

Momma do you remember the day I was born
late in December when winter
takes away the warm
Momma do you remember
Momma do you remember

Momma do you remember when I was in my teens
with long curly hair
and bell bottom jeans
Momma do you remember
Momma do you remember

Momma it wasn't long ago
you where working in your yard
planting fresh flowers
you use to work so hard
now you can't make your flowers grow
OH no Oh no
Momma do you remember

Momma do you remember the day I was wed
let no man put asunder
is what the preacher said
Momma do you remember
Momma do you remember

Momma do you remember my one and only son
born one day after your birthday
that's when his life begun
Momma do you remember
Momma do you remember

Momma do you remember, Me?

About this poem:
I wrote this about a year before my Mom died of Alzheimer's
wondering I guess what might jog her memory when she forgot me
thinking if I reminded her of important things in my life that are considered mile stones of my life.
My Mom passed in July 2011 not knowing me.

DEATH

DEATH-----
WE THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY
WE SEE YOU IN SOMEONES SMILE OR WAVE
WE SEE YOU IN ARE PHOTOGRAFES
IT MAKES US MISS YOUR LITTLE LAUGH
WE STOP AND THINK YOUR DEATH NOT REAL
I TRY SO HARD TO SMELL YOUR SMELL
I TRY TO THINK HOW YOUR SKIN DID FEEL
YOUR DEATH STILL DONT FEEL REALLY REAL
WE COMFORT EACH OTHER NIGHT AND DAY
IN HOPES ARE GREIF WILL GO AWAY
BUT THEN HERE GOES THOSES FEELING
ALL OVER AGAIN
YOUR LIFE WITH US WILL NEVER END
YOU'LL STAY RIGHT HERE IN ARE MINDS AND HEART'S
YOUR MEMORYS FROM US WILL NEVER DEPART
THESE ARE JUST THOUGHTS IAM HAVING OF YOU
I JUST THOUGHT ID WRITE DOWN A LINE OR TWO
I JUST REALLY LOVE AND MISS YOU
IAM JUST SAYING YOUR DEATH
FOR ME, WAS REALLY HARD TO GET THROUGH

The Grave

The woman slowly through the graveyard walks,
She stops a while and at a grave she talks,
Oh Jimmy! oh Jimmy! oh why did you go,
You were my joy oh didn't you know,

On her face she wears a frown,
The sky so soft on her looks down,
The drizzle rain it blinds her eye,
her wobbling lip lets out a sigh.

The woman kneels down and places a flower,
She seeks her God in her neediest hour,
She always thought Him meek and mild'
But can't comprehend why He took her Child.

She fights and fights the rage within,
The thoughts she thinks she knows are sin,
She had always tried to follow the Lord,
For all her sacrifice twas poor reward.

He took her son though only five,
and yet lets the evil remain alive,
At these thoughts she begin to cry,
She kisses the stone and says goodbye.

I AM

In an instant
The world turns on a dime
Back where it started
Staring, thru time

How far i have come
and yet
I remain true

It doesnt matter
What others may think
My strength wells from within

Strong will
Strong spirit
I am

An Ode ToMy Friend And Boss

I LOST MY FRIEND THE OTHER DAY,
HE JUST SILENTLY SLIPPED AWAY
FROM THE FETTERS OF THIS LAND -
- BUT - THAT WAS THE MANNER OF THIS MAN.

I VALUE ALL THE TIME WITH HIM,
I FELT A KINDSHIP DEEP WITHIN.
WE THOUGHT ALIKE IN MANY WAYS
WE LEARNED,WE TAUGHT ,
I LOVED THOSE DAYS.

THERE NEVER WAS A WORD OF IRE,
WITH ME AT LEAST,WHILE IN HIS HIRE,
OF ALL,HE WAS MY FAVORITE BOSS
AND NOW HE'S GONE,IT'S SUCH A LOSS.

I NEVER HEARD HIM BRAG OR BOAST
THOUGH HE HAD REASON, MORE THAN MOST,
A QUIET GENIUS TO THE END,
OH GOD, I MISS MY FRIEND.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem a number of years ago in tribute to a man who was not only my boss but also my friend. He was a quiet genius in electronics and one of the earliest developers of cable TV. At one time he owned 9 systems in 4 states. Since this is Memorial Day I thought it fitting to post my poem.

12 YEARS
TODAY WE REMEMBER
THE LAST MOMENTS,
THE PAIN & HOW IT HURT,
THE SUDDEN EMPTINESS
JUST FEELING NUMB,
WISHING & PRAYING
IT WAS`NT HAPPENING
WISHING YOU WERE
STRONGER,STRONGER TO
JUST HOLD ON,
STAY WITH US.
YOU WAS OUR ROCK
OUR STRENGTH,
WE WERE HAPY TO BE
STUCK WITH YOU,
OUR HERO,OUR STAR.
NOW 12 YEARS TODAY
YOU BECOME OUR
LOVING,SHINNING
GUARDIAN ANGEL,
YOU WILL ALWAYS &
FOREVER BE IN OUR
HEARTS & MEMORIES
R.I.P DAD
LOVE & MISS YOU SO MUCH

Another Rose

Another Rose

Another rose has left this Earth
To join the Lord in her real birth,
Where love will have endless girth
And laughter follows wholesome mirth.

She will be missed by all she knew,
But her journey here is not quite done,
She will hug you all before she's through,
And then a kiss good bye,one by one.

While wearing a smile through her tears,
She'll ascend the stairs in Jesus arm,
While thanking Him for the joyous years,
To join her family safe from all harm.

There's a mist upon my sight
Clouds the daylight and the night
Like the passing of a life , without you;
Days are speeding moving on
Dreams are wishes built upon
And all i have is ever gone, without you;
And all i am i am
And all i be is me
Yet all i am i am for you
And this will always be;
There's a mist upon my sight
Clouds the daylight and the night
Like the passing of a life, without you..............

RMS Titanic

Embedded image from another site

RMS Titanic leaving Southampton

Twas in April nineteen twelve
That she set sail for sea
She was the pride of the White Star Line
The RMS Titanic

The firemen below, shovelled coal
So relentlessly for steam
To power her mighty engines
For to propel her across the sea

From Southampton to New York City
Across the North Atlantic Ocean
Two thousand, two hundred and twenty eight
Aboard, passengers and crew

On the Bridge stood Captain Smith
Surrounded by his officers
Orders given, “Full speed ahead
We’ll push to reach destination”

On the A deck the rich sat
In their cabins most luxurious
Next deck down in restaurant grand
Orchestra played to accompany dining

Down below, in the bowels of ship
There they put the immigrants
Hope in heart, New York bound
To seek a life much better

From bow to stern and all below
They all felt safe, secure
This mighty ship, they were told
Even God could not sink it

It was on April fourteenth
Just four days gone
That the lookout yelled
“There’s ice”

Decision was made to carry on
Full steam straight ahead
Nothing is going to slow us down
New York we’ll reach on time

Twas eleven forty in the night
By the clock on the ship
A mighty shudder ran through her length
As an iceberg she hit

Even then no panic ruled
Was more something of interest
But down below the truth was known
As water flooded her innards

The order was given to abandon ship
First women and children
Unfortunately the sad fact was
There was a shortage of lifeboats

As she slipped beneath the waves
To rest on the bottom
More than half she took with her
One thousand, five hundred and twenty three

A disaster too shocking to comprehend
Never should have taken place
Arrogance to play with life
To think nothing will transpire
