For all the men that tried to do you wrong..

What were you thinking?
Did she not kiss your
Cheek like a dove from
Heaven?

Can't you remember
Her glowing smile
As you walked
Through the door?
She just needed a
Man to comfort
Her..
To protect her
She really saw
You as a knight
In shining armour
But somehow
You took a
Different path in
Life
Something in your
Mind said..
"I'll take an approach
To violence
You thought, " I'll
Scream and shout"
I'll make her fear
My presence
Because.. I am
MAN!
Really?
What are you?
I have an answer!
You are nothing
But bone and muscle
You are yesterdays
T-Shirt that reads,
"I'm to stupid to love
A woman"
And now she's trying
To get away from you
Because she realizies
You are a loser of
The first class
She should have
Never put her hand
Upon your cheek
Because you are
Death warmed over
Do you know what
You missed by
Your subhuman
Behaviour?
Of course you
Don't
You're dried up
Slime on a hot
Sidewalk
Her cherry lips
Were meant for
A king
But you took her
Sweet loving heart
To the dungeons
Of hell
And when you're
Sitting behind bars
In some hellish
Prison for all
Your demonic
Abuse
Then perhaps you'll
Ponder..after twenty
Years
That you traded the
Kiss of Heaven
For the fires
Of Hell!

The Sun Will Never Shine Again

The Sun Will Never Shine Again
nor thunder will the sea.
No moonlit summer skies ahead.
There'll be no nights of ecstacy.

Tomorrow's only promise now
is barren emptiness.
The dazzling world
I once saw through raptured eyes
has fallen cold and colorless.

I remember laughter with you.
Your silhouette against the sunset captured me.
The dazzling autumn days held no glory next to you,
the starlit sky no magesty.
My very life began with you.

Now that you're gone
there's nothing left to do but cry.
Two lovers torn apart
though love will never die.
and since you've gone away
I know the sun will never shine
for me.

The sun will never shine again...

About this poem:
Written by Moi, l'meme, back in 1984. Came to mind this morning and I thought I'd better share it somewhere before it disappeared into my decaying graymatter.

Gadzooks, I was emotive back then! {:-)

Tears in a Smile

She gave me a smile filled with tears
She asked I kept it a secret for her
I hoped I could soothe her despairs
So I questioned her a little farther
In the voice of a child she spoke
The smile filled with tears kept her centred
She said, "This morning I woke.
From the sleep that for years I had entered."

"I closed my eyes twelve years ago, you see
Wide awake without even a dream of my own
I sent my dreams downstream in a canope
Just to be used and left all alone."
She sighed the sighed of lost hope
Patted my hand that held her smile filled with tears
And whispered, "My child I just can't cope
Too much hatred, dashed dreams and fears."

As she walked away I was left with a smile
No longer filled with tears but lost
I thought she was not even hostile
And I wanted to help at all cost
So off I went to find her once more
I walked to the corner where she had turned
I followed my aim to reassure
But I was forbidden with a smile that burned.

You Have Left

An empty space you left behind
A hole to big to fill
All around the angels cry
To sing they’ve lost their will

Even God in heaven sits
And somberly stares down
Shakes his head, wipes a tear
Just cannot move his frown

Gone you are, no longer here
But in our hearts you’ll stay
The memory, so strong it is
It will never fade away

Day will Come!

Day will come I'll be dead,
Placed with grace into grave,
Heart and feeling I'll mingle
Mingle with cold of the sand…
Worms my heart will beset
Feed voracious on flesh,
To no avail will be sobbing
Of beautiful haired I loved,
To no avail will be wailing
Of violets – sisters of mine.
To no avail will be downfall
Of stars to the plain from above,
To no avail river’s howling,
Rushing from downstream high,
To no avail fall of cracked rock
Down to grove where it’s stuck…
Oh, woe is me, I won’t see them
Turned into the dead as am I.

About this poem:
Vazha-Pshavela (1861-1915) - a classic of the Georgian literature - was born in a small village Chargali (Pshavi mountainous province in Eastern Georgia) in a family of clergyman. He was a Georgian thinker, poet and writer. Vazha-Pshavela wrote most of his verses, poems and stories in the vicinity of his native village. His poems and narrative stories are widely translated into a number of languages (translations into English by Donald Rayfield, Venera Urushadze, Lela Jgerenaia, Nino Ramishvili, and others).

This one is not quite as joyful as one would expect of someone who's been away for so long, but this is what I have chosen to translate this time, dear poets. I have added the video of a recital of this poem for those who would like to hear how it sounds in Georgian.

one plus one...............

Mirrored souls.... ..a diviness of two
Identical in nature.... but not in you
Thoughts procured ......teleported too
A wholeness of one splitting atoms two

Senses multiplied..... awareness acute
Pain aquired ........will never dilute
Distance......... not a problem though
Feelings spent .....some high some low

Together forever..... within your mold
Not one but two........ of joyous gold
Roaming the countryside..... as a pair
Living a life ..of uniqueness to share

But alas....... ..the alarm bells ring
One's pain is felt the other heart does sting
Too late too late .........to be aware
Destiny's fate .....a journey of prayer

But you lose nothing...... in your mind
Your reflection bound by your mental bind
Keeping it real......... keeping it sane
Keeping your heart from the anguish and pain......

Rest in peace

Dear father,
its been years...
Since
you being gone...
yet, your spirit
lives on..
Your lagacy, i will
carry on...
i die a little every time
i say good bye...
good bye... good bye..
So long farewell..
But, its not the end of
the chapter..
i will see you again
after..
Death is a meal
we re all going to taste
my heart aches
so my pen bleeds,
in this world,
im proud to be your
seed
your words, echoes
in my head
every single day
mom keep starin
at your bed
she day dreams
and wish you weren't
dead
you use to be a man
now a ghost in the
in the dark
i wish i could turn
back the hands of
time
life with you was like
a sweet lime
i miss you, we miss you
mom miss you
most
life is like a poker
you played your game
yet, forever we shall
remember your name..
Rest in peace

Old

I sat on the cold wooden bench
It was a bleak wintery scene
dead leaves rustled by
I rose and put down flowers .
Visiting a grave is not my thing
But I had promised her
And so I muttered words
In way of the bereaved.
How quiet is the graveyard
So Peaceful so bare of life.
I turned away to my solitude
There is no sweetness,
no bitterness
Just a vacuum of emotion
Yet I am alive
A mere husk of a man
All my friends are gone,
Can you live too long?

Last Night

At night my lost memory of you returned
and I was like the empty field where springtime,
without being noticed, is bringing flowers;
I was like the desert over which
the breeze moves gently, with great care;
I was like the dying patient
who, for no reason, smiles.

Too young............

Dear Sarah
You were my son's mate
You hung with the boys
'Twas never a date
Probably cause your twin
Was a boy
You ran with the pack
It was no ploy
We shared a conversation
Or maybe two
I loved your enthusiasm
And your point of view
Thick as thieves
And even more
You and your brothers
And my welcoming door
It saddens me to think
That hidden away
Their lay a darkness
That would surface one day
Unfortunately one day came
And then went away
And you were gone
And a life you did betray.............
