Blindfold

I wanted love
she desired gold,
love is priceless
gold is cold...

She was blind...

Her gold
cannot see
touch or feel
powerless to cheer..

Gold has no soul..

Perhaps I saw
so desperately,
picture of her
I wanted to see...

A falling star...

I gave true
poetry of feelings,
sunlight on morning dew,
she turned out to be

A horrible love poem...

twilight alone..........[ 40 word challenge ]

lifetime of love
finally alone
retirement house
or your own home
precious the memories
that line your walls
sharing everything together
that life befalls
you would rather die there
alone in your bed
together forever
from the day you wed.......

Unsung

My best friend for years only good times I remember
With a sense of humor that would make the hardest surrender
But some time ago we lost touch with each other
He fell in a hole where his charisma would slumber
From time to time he would call me for help
He would speak of his pain and all of his hell
I would listen for hours and try to give him advice
He would pray for the best but lose to his device
He would snort it or shoot it or smoke it if he could
I took him to rehab but this fight we did loose
This time he must of felt hopeless and faded from what was left of his light
Today he silenced his struggle and took his own life
I lay here thinking why didn't he call me did I fail as a friend
The last time that I saw him replays over and over again
Way back in high school his future was bright
Now just a memory lost to the night
George you'll be missed but right now I'm so angry with you
There could of been a better tomorrow this was the wrong path to choose.

Handkerchief

While watching sunset
Drowning in sea
Every breath of fresh ear
Sun reflections
In blue sea
Collars
Sink inside me
Awakening hope
Waves as handkerchief
In distance

Is that beloved waving ?
Is it my mother?
Or brother?
Or sister?

I am feeling as passing
Image
Caught
In immortal circle of mortal pain

I sow so many handkerchief in distance
Each one soaked with tears
Promised of waiting
But wind of time took them away
Stacked in branches
They live they're own life
Whistling wind blow them
Roll them
Twist them in ear as dancing ballerina
Makes them remember laughter of past
With tears of present
In wind of dreams
Past endeavours
They cry as neglected children
Waiting to be picked up
And find they're way
To be kept close to chest
As treasure of heart
For someone to cherish

Each handkerchief has it's own dreams
Some to dress a wound
Some to hold the candlelight
Burning on heart as Faith
Some dream
To grow bigger on mainmast
Withstanding storm
To stand proud waving - against time
While life destiny that our nature shapes
In this or that room
Waiting
With handkerchief

humanity, we're losing it

humanity where are we?
in full gear, fully armed
we are on the war path
and directly heading to be damned
Paris, a city of beauty and light
accosted by the atrocities
of what is wrong and unjust

have we gone berserk
have we lost our minds?
have we embraced the dark
and forget there is light?
oh what an excuse, imperialist
here and there:
making the rich live in decadence
while the poor and wretched live lower than dirt?

you have forgotten
this day has been prophesied
it has been written and destined
alas, the eighty percent in jubilation
thinking it is their redemption
perhaps, it is..

but oh no, this is the mark
the progression of the "haves"
at the expense of the have "nots"
sure, laugh at me, I face your contempt
it is my fault for not standing up
as you remain silent to my pleas

the time has come
let us face and dance
your God and my God,
is one and the same

but my right to live,
my freedom,
doesn't make any difference
we're both born naked
and back to dust no more no less
one and the same..rotten
buried in the same dirt.

Missing you

She wakes with tears in her eyes
She cries for the guy she use to have
He's no longer alive
Yet the fire still burns in her heart

EMPTY SPACE

In my life lots of empty space
Forever missing that loving face
Empty spaces for the last seven years
Making for lots and lots of tears

In the car with an empty passenger seat
Always makes me want to weep
Looking at empty dining room chair
No longer seem able to eat there

Big piece missing in my heart
Memories seem never too far
Going everywhere all alone
Then returning to an empty home

Broken Heart

Sifting through the rubble
of a broken heart
trying to understand
the pieces that fell apart
curled up in a corner
where the light went dark
frozen eyes in the dead of air
with a tear falling to the floor
a sniffling nose
broke silence of the night
laying on the floor
holding a knife
closing eyes in dead of night
9am knock on the door
come on in
there is blood on the floor
birds singing overtaken
by the screaming
there you stood
with a
broken heart

When I was awakened
on that Mother's Day night
to hear you were missing
I began praying you'd be alright

As I drove to the Lake
In the dark, alone and fast
I prayed you'd be safe
and be found at last

But as minutes turned into hours
and the day slowly went by
Our hopes and faith began to weaken
we were afraid. We didn't want you to die

Searchers and dogs had found
at the bottom of the lake your boat
Divers were called in, markers
and buoys were set afloat

Divers went down in pairs
to look for you
Now coming towards us
Oh God, No! please don't let it be true

It seems our 16 hours
of standing on shore
was coming to an end
Only there was so much more

We would all have to learn to live
without you here
without your laugh, smile and your love
without you always being near

Its been two months now
I have good moments and bad
I love you and miss you so much
the best brother I ever had

The Darkest Rose

Less fear scares me as dark shadows enclose
Under black shroud of a widow's blind-fold
Wearing the scent of summer's darkest rose
Blooms in a lonely field that death foretold

Eyes never drying when tears stop their flow
Nothing is as moist as the mourning dew
Nor stark the color of carrion crows'
Coal black feathers turning purplish-blue

Sick in my grief was love lost in the grave
More vulnerable yet lest I ever dreamed
Continuous fear wearing down depraved
Bitterness cast from the nets unredeemed

May ones' good life be made from what's gone past
Living in sweet dreams that forever last

About this poem:
Such is an emptiness now found in the New England woods this time of year. Visting the grave of my mother, this sonnet is very darkly reflective of my suffering a deep loss, followed by a timeless bitter mourning from a death so deeply personal. Perhaps only in our dreams can such sadness be balanced by the celebration of another happier time in life and also with the hope of her eternal love.
