Contained ~ Kickit’s Challenge

A thousand steps,
walking a crooked fence,
full of barbs,
wires, and hacked limbs.

~A Bad Dream~

Haunting, daunting.. perhaps merely a dream..
A myriad of not so quite silent screams..
The essense of evil.. as blasphemy coated it's ugly self
like putrid cursed words on a profanely painted shelf..
Sarcasm slithered like vile snakes on the ground..
Forked tongue, pointed directly at all who abound..
The escape route is closely guarded
No chance you will win..
Abandon all hope,
All ye that enter in.

No Tears

It is not my tears I shed
For you children of Norway
For my grief
Lies far beyond that pain
I am not so innocent
As so many of you were
Comprehension has left my mind
For numbness has overtaken me
And I can only mingle, as one
Of the so many heavy hearts
That does not understand
But can only plead
Why! Oh why

Hope has been replaced
By despair
And compassion
Lies bereft at the waters edge
I shed no tears
For I am far beyond that sorrow
And the parents of the innocents
Can only cry
Why! Oh why

I can hear a man downstairs
Whistling a happy tune
I so wish today
I had the will to whistle
But hope lies fallen in despair
As humanity takes one further step
Backwards into the dark
The world mourns
With Norway
For the innocents it has lost
And the parents of the children
Can only cry
Why! Oh why

About this poem:
I realise Bill has written a poignant poem, I just wanted to express how I and I know so many of you feel. Inhumanity has no bounds in morals or compassion, it is pure cowardice to me. I can say no more

Loves last moment

Eyes swelling
becoming tearfull
spilling over
tear drops fall.

Words failing
mouths open
unable to speak
emotions choking.

Hands tremble
fingers entwined
clenching the hand
that clings to mine.

doors open
light has entered
darkness closing
hold me im scared.

Angels calling
last breath i cry
door closing
i whisper goodbye.

A Birthday Wish

I can not smell your hair
I can not touch your skin
I can not see your smile
or the scar upon your chin

I can feel you close to me
I can feel your chill
I can feel happy
and grieve for you still

I can see its not my time right now
I can see the girls need me
I can see that you are free my son
but with you I want to be.

No Regrets.

You gave me gifts, that few can,
that I struggle to hold on to.
Showed me,from your eyes,
that I struggle to still see.

I see evidence of you in the fields,
when like you,the bailer has been active.
In the character,of our children,
when they are kind and tender.

Precious letters,in torn envelopes,
of a time past long ago.
Pages of yearning,and love calling,
resurrected as melancholic prose.

A time of innocence, and feeling true,
of loving fully,giving willingly.
Such longing beneath my surface,
that time and facts still can't allay.

A moment of surrender,to my lost love,
days that your light, shone my way
Bring again happiness of your loving me,
in the gentle caress,of memories gone by.

See you in heaven

Embedded image from another site

It has been almost three years
since to heaven you did fly
We miss the beauty of your soul
now you share it with the sky...

Heaven now knows the warmth of your heart
So bright you put the stars to shame
the glow of Springtime's sun
will never be the same...

Our son has the strength of your soul
the passion of your heart with much to share
in his eyes your majesty of the cosmos
like you a love of animals with much to spare...

My love add your wonder to the stars
enhance the blue of the midday sky
we miss the unequaled shining light
and the tenderness in your eyes...

Soar all the way to heaven my lady
for eternal love has set you free
I await here among the living
for you to greet me in heaven so splendidly..

Has anyone
seen my brother?
He was just here the other day
perhaps he is just sleeping
in the ruins of some city
so far away...

Has anyone
seen my sister?
a lovely country song
neither one said good by before leaving
or they would be gone
just left us alone and grieving..

Has anyone seen my brother
or my sister too?
They were here the other day
but they can no longer breathe here
I keep reaching for their hands
to tell them I can't really either...

They won't be back
this I know
I allowed them today in my mind
the past is healing so slow
the love I have in kind
suddenly came back today...

Loss

Embedded image from another site

At the service
relatives not seen
for such a long time
begin to appear in succession...

A mixture of joy and pain
pain for the loss
of a loved one
joy for uniting with kin...

Tears shed
for the beloved
are not a sign of weakness
but a sign of heart...

I know you cannot
read loss
only feel it
eventually, everything goes away...

Remnants of Love

Nearly ten years since you were called away,
yet still I recall as yesterday your touch,
Your smile, your sense of fun and joy with life.
I remember you playing your guitar, singing along.

You cooking a gourmet meal with great a-plume.
Sharing a bottle of wine over cards or backgammon.
You filled my life with the sunshine of love as
together we shared glances at a humorous joke.

We shared daily strife's with practiced ease
facing each and all together standing strong.
Still I feel your touch in night's shadows
as you softly flit by reminding me of us.

Lonely now is life as I travel onwards,
none can take your place within my heart.
Some good men have tried, yet they can never
be you or be able to share life with your ghost.

Yet as I pause, remembering all you taught me
and experiences we had together I am happy.
Sometimes in life less is indeed far more
now I treasure the memories we made together
