A Million Times

You never said I'm leaving.
you never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it
and only God knew why

A million times we've needed you
A million times we've cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died

In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place
No one else could ever fill

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
Part of us went with you
The day God took you home

You're leaving

I know it hurts, don't say it isn't worth it.
I know there's pain, don't tell me there is not.
I know your grief; your pain in fact is nothing
Compared to mine - just look if disbelieve my words.
You've been abandoned thus when you most needed
His caring touch, his eyes you miss so much.
In vain we comfort you, of no avail entreaties,
Your soul to loss can not be reconciled.
There's love and loss, there's joy and sorrow.
There's life and death, who knows where goes the line?
Death's coming, we don't know what holds tomorrow,
Your shattered dreams are all that's left behind.
God bless you, oh I wish that your departure
Were painless as can be and peaceful, so I pray.
Hold on, my friend, in time of need and trouble,
You're not alone, we'll see you through to end.

About this poem:
It's about my friend, who is suffering from devastating disease and we just hope she will live as long as she can. But the most dreadful thing is that she was abandoned at a time when she most needed a loving husband beside her.

Incident on Raple Road

You're a fire fly
of tiny broken bones
Fire works in February
Left with out a sanctuary
and the street lights
have lit up Raple Road

The neighborhood is tucked in bed
Where you once laid your head
is a snow angel
in snow flakes of glass
Cuts in our ears
where we heard the crash

If you find you can't get home
Lost but not alone
I will walk with you
Together we can find
what we don't know we're looking for

In memory

"I miss you my friend, you left us so suddenly, leaving lives empty, a void you have left, memories recalling, but with sadness and sullenly"

"I miss your 4am wakening thuds at my door, 'what are you doing asleep, there is so much more to do!'..you would roar"

"You were best man at my wedding, that's how close we were..always joking and laughing, mayhem you would cause, a mischief maker and prankster, you caused quite a stir"

"Remember when we were in Cyprus, we roamed the market stalls where live stock were sold, you would unlock the chicken pens which caused a riot, so funny and so bold"

"I am writng this for you as your friend, in memory and anniversary, you are in my thoughts, your friends and family remember you..no adversary's"

"I wish you were still here, close and among us..but I'm sure your in a better place watching over and above us"

"I have a tight hug waiting for you, a bonded handshake which is long overdue.....Until that day comes my friend I'll remember you strongly, with a mixture of joy and sadness, family and friends will raise a glass or two and celebrate your life, remembering you fondly"

tardy

I trust I'll get to my funeral some time
procrastination being a timeless trait
I meant to end this life sublime
But I seem to be terminally late

I apologize to you making my eulogy
I really am sorry to make you wait
I appreciate the kind words you'll say
But I seem to be terminally late

The pall bearers stand by idle
While will readers prize the estate
I just knew I wanted to be there
But I seem to be terminally late

The flowers look splendid I'm sure
The songs are lovely and sedate
The choir's never gonna sound better
But I seem to be terminally late

Don't worry about me or my soul
If ol' devil comes lookin' I'll skate
Cause I've loved this life I been livin'
But I seem to be terminally late

Sign the guest book please, I thank you
Say hello to my sorrowful soul mate
I'll make it up to you all, someday
But I seem to be terminally late

Follow the Flowers

I can smell the winter in the air
reminds me of a funeral
It smells of rotting pumpkins,
car exhaust, and you.
All wrapped together,
and perfectly chilled.

Fear what the winter brings,
they call it change.
Because when its all over,
and flowers return without you,
will I still remember
what you looked like

Please help those in need

please help .. the disaster is disaster on all scales ..those caught by not being able to get out of the way ...gone are those who have been loved ..gone are children and the old and those not quick enough .. gone are the hopes and dreams and a normal life ..please help those who can not help them selves ...give what you can if you can ,even moral surport ,just open your heart or your wallet and show the world you do care

My Best Friend

I look into those wonderful brown eyes of yours.
I don't think anyone could love me anymore.
It is hard on me to see what you are going thru.
And soon I know what I might have to do.
You have been there for me
A friend who ask nothing in return.
Sometimes just sitting together
Letting life be.
I will miss you more than you will ever know
I have watched you grow.
You protect me when you think harm comes my way
I can't protect you back because old age is here to stay.
So lets sit and watch the sun go down.
And remember when you were just a pup and run around.
