A Life Cut Way Too Short...

Travelling down a lonely road..
Oh what a heavy burden you must have felt
that you carried..
Although you always wore a smile to hide your frown..
Things might have ended quite differently.
You know you let so many people down..

We can't always see inside of you..
We can't always be expected to know
if you don't say..
But hindsight is always twenty twenty..
At least that's what they say..

Why did you make the choice to just checkout..
We could have found a better way..
Where twilight's always dark and cold,
Tomorrow's always another day..

And I know that you weren't thinking
At the time about anyone but you..
But trust me we're not holding
that against you,

But maybe if we knew..
If you had tried to talk this over..
Might the ending have been rearranged..
If you had let us in , leaned on us.
Maybe you'd still be here and ok..
Where you belong..
Who's to say..If you had waited for a new day.

So many times I've asked the question why..
How could you just leave us without even saying good-bye,
So many times I've wondered all the what ifs
And never any answers.. no reasons why..it is what it is..

Nobody is indestructible..
None of us should think
That if we choose to end it all..
Someone will save us in the nick of time..
But I know that's what you were counting on,

And then time got in your way..
You didn't really want to go....
This we all know..
But now you're gone away...
If only hindsight was twenty twenty
Then I guess we might have known..
Oh Jay.. why did you have to end it all this way?
I'd give up anything, if only you could have stayed..
Please God keep him in your sight... I pray.
For Jay.

God Took You

We were togeather for 29 years,

we laughed and we loved,

but we also shed tears,

you were my husband,

my lover, my friend,

and this is a loss,

that will never mend.

The pain and the sadness

i feel everyday,

the tears and the sorrow

my heart died that day,

You told me your dreams,

your secrets, your fears,

i relive those stories,

i relive your tears.

Heaven was waiting ,

God reached down his hand,

he took you to his house,

It was part of his plan.

Your body was sickly,

you were too tired to fight

so God held you close

and took you that night.

I feel lost without you,

my grief is so deep

but i know in my heart

that in Gods house you sleep.

You are now happy and healthy,

and so full of life,

I thank God that he helped you

I thank God I was your wife.

The Queen Of Queens

Submerged in shame in a sea of flames, she hears her people cries
As an angry sun rises up each day, against her blackened skies
A stunned world watches in disbelief, none believin' what is seen
All asking how could this happen, to that most beloved queen ?

In a watery grave around her, she waits now in grim despair
How will anybody save her ?, somehow we all should care
But she will rise again someday, like a phoenix through the fire
In a fortress befitting for a queen, built up strong and higher

For she will always be the queen of queens
Our lady fair, our New Orleans
Our precious home, sweet precious home
Oh mon Dieu... save our queen, Save our home, our New Orleans
Save our queen, our precious queen...our New Orleans

Broad road to Destruction

Their minds thought evil
Their lips spoke lies
Their eyes saw corruption
Their ears heard gossip
And their hearts knew death
They would not be conformed
Could not be reasoned with
They had no pity
Knew no compassion
Showed no mercy
They spat hatred on the
gentle heart
Violent cursings tore from
their throats
Blood lust was their morning
drink
Their fists hammered revenge
Their malice poisoned the air
The earth fled from their presence
The pit opened up to them
A horor beyond imagining awaited them
The father of lies greeted them
The gates of Hell opened and they
were forced through at the speed
of light
They beheld the horror of every vile
thing
They were chained to a dung heap more
vile than the stench of a trillion dead
Every evil that could be thought or
dreamed chained them within the blazing
infernal a billion suns and tormented
them forever
There was no release
There shall be no release
Screaming for all eternity
Screaming in the fire
Screaming in the blistering torture
of a burning that shall never end
The Hell of all Hells
The blackest dark, thick as dead black
steel cutting their heart out
Their souls being ripped in bloody
torture yet they can never die
They cannot die!!
They shall never die!!
Forever they will know only the
firey sword of the flames of wrath

Save Your Last Tear For Me

The war has changed you so
Made you mad how life will go
Does nothing makes you smile
Spending time with me awhile
Your days were full of strife
And taking away so much life
Your nights are sleepless now
Just can't adjust them somehow
Rounds going off all around
Ducking from every sound
Your face - so staight laced
Lacking joy and lacking grace
Such sadness in your eyes
Reflections that you despise
Can you feel how hurt you are
How hurt you make me feel
Is there hope up in the stars
That still shines down from afar
Please hold me close and dear
And not make me shake with fear
And promise you'll save for me
When you shed your last tear

Loss and Love

In the absence of loss
There could exist
Love
In the absence of cruelity
There could exist
Kindness
In the absence of darkness
There could exist
Light

The drunk

Just a few words half
scribbled on a scrap of
paper blown to the gutter
It said:'To tired to live..
To tired to die..
To tired..
Goodbye'

Loss

So much is loss in a dream awoken
Fading away like little torn swatches
Trying to recall her soft words spoken
A Dali painting of melting watches

Sadly how thoughts mired into the lonely
As the morning sun wisps away her face
In thin air escapes my one and only
Vanishes as consciousness takes its place

Me alone into this world to survive
Being torn away from her flesh and blood
As only happens when death does deprive
Feelings washed away in a rising flood

A good memory better than a dream
Is what only the spirit can redeem

the soul who suffers long

these blackest days, these darkest nights
oh the wicked frozen cold
my darkening eyes adjust to view in the absence of the light
with broken hands i grasp the wind, but nothings there to hold
despite my might and wit and skill
as marooned ive missed the tide
I wait and pray and search dismayed
to find a place to hide
and in this deep canyon of shadows and night
i'll dream of you until im gone
i'll dig beneath the abyss in my soul and bring you up a song
I'll sing it low, and sweet, and loud, for the soul who suffers long

Queens

Tonight .......i saw another star
Shining bright ....an not too far
Had not seen.... this star before
Before you left..for heavens door

You shone so bright when you were here
The people you touched.. made it clear
They'd never met....... a man like you
They never will .......an that is true

Passionate about ...the things you did
Your bike , the stamps , even the quid
But none so more ......than your girls
As if they'd come from different worlds

You committed .....every second you had
To secure your rights an make them glad
Share with them.......... all you could
Precious time ........as still it stood

You baked with them .......all the time
Cardboard castles......... were sublime
The squeals ...........of their delight
Echoed......... in your dreams at night

Analytical mind ....brilliant an unique
A memory clear .........for you to seek
There wasn't anything...... really hard
Your approach to it....... never marred

You dealt with people..... individually
Communication your forte.........easily
So when god called .......an needed you
Shocking all ..............in your view

As i look up .........into stars tonight
I know i'll see one close shining bright
An as time............ slowly ticks away
I'm sure this star ......will never fade

So raise your glass..... an have a drink
To remember the kiwi...... who did think
That his girls were queens in his domain
While the sun shines ...on tears of rain
