Good bye :-(

I tried to let go....but its hard for me to do.
When I have one hand always holding on to you.
If I would release.... You'd just fly so high.
Not even a whisper a word of good bye.
Your colors are here for the world to see.
But I keep on holding you close to me.
Now the time has come.
And I must let you fly.
So I will start to run.
Where you can reach the sky.
It will be clear sailing into the blue.
To places I don't know.
But I will release and let you go.
May your journey be a good one.
May you reach your permanent home.
In a gush of wind my friend you are gone.

Black Pearls on a Broken Heart

On a cold Nebraska morn
Another loney day is born
A broken gate swings in
the wind
That old heartache starts
again
She pulls herself from a
lonely bed
And drags a comb accross
her head
She pours a drink to help
her start
Wearing black pearls on a
broken heart
She reads the letters he
sent from the war
A hundred or so sprawled
on the floor
But all this is doing is
tearing her apart
Cause she's wearing black
pearls on a broken heart
She kisses his picture
hanging on the wall
As her millionth tear
begins to fall
She draws the curtains
and the tattered blinds
And locks the door for
the very last time
Such a shame she'll have to
part
With only these beads around
her heart
She drives to the plot that
bears his name
Knowing nothing could ever
be the same
She lays a wreath upon his
stone
Her final tears ..now she's
alone
In her purse there's a
sharpened knife
With this steel she'd take
her life
And she ended the life that
would never start
Wearing..black pearls on
a broken heart~

Love like candy.

You gave love like candy to a child,
and dragged laughter from my belly.
Your voice filled my thoughts and mind,
leaving no space in the between times.

I wonder,at the complete invasion!
to death-like quiet..and..
our all or nothing view of love.
I breathe deeply of the silence.

If I fight to understand,
I'll watch it fly out of reach.
Associating things with you,
that pull at my heart.

I breathe deeply of the silence,
and like an old familiar quilt,
drawn close on a cold winter night,
let the peace settle over me.

For I Will Not Leave This House

The sadness comes,
like a hurricane,
like a tidal wave,
but I am brave,

You were lost,
beneath its furls,
head in the sand,
dead to the world,

I'll always find a reason not to go,
I'll always find some reason left to stay,
I fell in love with a monster, outside the window,
I fell in love with a widow, who never sleeps,

Through the night,
I hear you still,
singing songs,
from my window sill,

In my dreams,
of way back when,
you knock down doors,
coming in again,

______________

The road is cold, and it just gets colder,
When you break a heart, it grows back older,
The road is long, and it just gets longer,
When you break a heart, it grows back harder,

You are all that I can see,
The Drowning - A floating hand not far from me.

About this poem:
The most terrible of goodbyes. This is an implicit poem for a friend Steven after a personal tragedy. His younger sister was lost at sea and never recovered. This is for both of them and about both of them I guess.

A September Day Tribute

It’s happening again this September
The echo of the cries of 3,000 souls
So very difficult in mind’s eye to remember
The emotional drain each year takes a toll

The sights and sounds of buildings falling
Trying to fly like birds on the wind
Tortures the souls of those remaining
Wishing the memories would be dimmed

The definition of 911 forever changed
Heroes and murderers were born that day
Each in their own way coming to fame
Both facing burning Hell come what may

The murderers are still there to this day
Leaving others with tortuous memories
The Heroes were able to fly away
Facing Hell they left legendary stories

Stories revisited each and every year
For some these stories are of brave men and women
Others the memories still recreate the fear
As each of these visions is summoned

For me I think of 3,000 new stars in the sky
Each one winking at me from above
As I look at them way up high
I send each and every one of them my love

Christmas without you

A tiny star flickerd in the sky
angels rejoiced, knowing it was time
they all gathered round, loved ones you once mourned
unto them,the eve you passed
an angel had been born.

It's like a dream i wish to wake from now
if only, someway .. somehow
what to see you there in your fireside chair
but it's no dream to waken from
for you are now, an angel mom.

We'll meet again such a time will be
for i have faith and much belief in me,
it's what keeps me going when you i always mourn
all this my sadness with come to pass
when i am the angel born.

Untill we meet again..
i shall be missing you always till then.

Remembering also the gentleman of the blogs that he was...
our friend, our darling Simmo..

Defeated dreams

Some nights I see you again in my dreams
coming with wind that brings fallen rose petals on my bed.
I see you're hand riching to gently touch my cheek,
to give me the pleasure of your affectionate flesh,
eyes that smiled at me,hands that welcome me,
whispering to my heart that awake passion flower
to blossom into my blood.
Than suddenly I wake at night alone;
carrasing empthy place next to me
where you left the mark of your body shape,
for me to nurse the barren memory of you.

We part;you're forever gone to land of defeated dreams
where my sorrow and love sparks blown out upon you
longingly comes in dreams to enfold thy sweet love remembered
and yet in these thoughts lies my soul shadows deep
were at heaven's gate in one spirit we meet again
to immortalize a mortal thing to the edge of doom,
to enternize lifeless dust that lies in cold silent land.

In eternal lines you live in me...like a seal of happy time
to recall that tender touch; no more to grieve or to be sad
but to be flushed with sun that brightness my foothpath before me
so long as I can breathe to plant seeds of love.

The End

It is true this is it then,
the last, the end.
My life, this journey,
did it not just begin?
It seems not long ago
when I first did breathe,
now as a breath is my life
our lives and suddenly,
its over and all our
glad smiles and happy times,
are gone like grey clouds
with the dawn of sunshine,
and all that is left is often
sadness and regret,
for what remains undone
perhaps the life that we led.
But alas, it is too late
and nothing can be done,
as now we must return
to the earth we came from.

THE EMPTY ROOM

SHE SAID, SHE WAS COMING BACK, AFTER A CHECKUP; IN A HOSPITAL, I KNOW NOT WHERE! WE SAT DOWN FOR BREAKFAST, THE DAY BEFORE; AND SHE TOLD ME, OUR BOND WAS SO RARE; SHE JUMPED UP, GAVE ME A BIG HUG, AND SAID; MY DARLING, TRAVIS; TAKE CARE! COULD IT BE, THERE'S SOMETHING SHE'S NOT TELLING ME? I TOLD MYSELF, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG; SHE'LL RETURN, AFTER HER CHECKUP, AND OUR DAYS, WILL AGAIN BE, FILLED, WITH SONG! WHEN THE NEWS CAME, THE NEXT DAY, I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK; I CRIED; DEAR LORD; PLEASE, TURN BACK THE CLOCK; PLEASE, DON'T TAKE MY MOM; TAKE ME, INSTEAD! I THEN RAN TO THE EMPTY ROOM, TO LAY ON HER BED; I PROMISE YOU MOM; I WILL MAKE YOU, SO PROUD; YOUR BABY BOY, SHALL STAND OUT, IN A CROWD!

Whenever.........

Island girl your spirit is free
No more worries will you see
Over hills , valleys and the sea
The land has claimed your identity

But memories will always last
And tears wept will eventually be past
And never a shadow will be cast
While your flag flies at half mast

Island girl your spirit is free
Look over those who need to see
You lived your life as you see
In your direction t'was yours to be

But whenever I see beautiful blue eyes
Or a lovely smile that does surprise
And a natural laugh with no disguise
I'll think of you and carry my sighs.......
