Daddy

Daddy you have gone,
Left mamma and me all alone.
You went across a mighty sea,
With all your company.
Daddy I do pray for you,
That you shall all come through.
In safety to come home,
We Love you Daddy we feel alone.

Together shall we watch the eagle fly?
Shall It make lazy circles In the sky?
You told me as long as the eagle does fly high,
Our America shall never die.

Daddy you walked so sadly away,
I did cry when you could not see.
You went off to fight for liberty,
So that people they could be free.
Oh daddy I'm crying once again,
I promise to stop but only when.
You come walking through our front door,
My heart shall return forever more.

Together shall we watch the eagle fly?
Shall It make lazy circles In the sky?
You told me as long as the eagle does fly high,
Our America shall never die.

Daddy I am so proud of you,
You're so brave to do what you do.
Fight so bravely to the stars and stripes be true,
All come back my daddy especially you.
Daddy all I ask Is that you be a soldier brave,
Please don't stay In some strange land within a grave.
Come home soon to mamma and me,
Once you give these strangers liberty.

Together shall we watch the eagle fly?
Shall It make lazy circles In the sky?
You told me as long as the eagle does fly high,
Our America shall never die.

With the stars and stripes to lead you on,
May your hearts be staunch and strong.
Marching ever onward strong and proud,
The country behind you one heart beating loud.
Our hopes are with you every single day,
All you brave soldiers straight Into the fray.
Onward ever onward no retreat,
Sons and daughters of the eagle come back with victory or defeat

Come home soon all of you, especially you daddy.
I Love you.
Mamma sends her Love too.
Bye Daddy.

About this poem:
The 21st Century and we still have war, what does that say about the human race. What pointless reason will there be for the final war that will destroy all. Time to travel on a ship of dreams.

His Words bring Him to life.

An old tin box rusted slightly with roses that have faded gently at the corners,
Soft hands tenderly lift the box onto her lap, the key turned slowly and the lid lifted.

Inside the letters bound in a ribbon that at one time was a bright pretty red, the pages curling at the edges and the writing faded and hard to read.

From inside that box a rush of memories and feelings come flying at her, she closes her eyes and slow tears fall, a few drops added to the old stains already there.

If she opened the pages she would read his words and again be with him as he sat in the bush with the gunfire around him and wrote his feelings and love down on the pages he sent to her.

She runs her finger over the paper and suddenly his hand seems to cover her hand, she feels the warmth seep into her soul and his eyes are suddenly smiling into her as he stands her up and takes her into his arms, they dance and twirl and he smiles.

She sighs and gently closes the box, the letters still the same, the ribbon still perfect and in place, she has every word he wrote in there, but her eyes don't need to see them, her heart remembers them too well.

So many years after he never returned as he promised, the words still connect him to her soul as it would do again.....one day, she feels it in her heart.

The Scare

I got the call
Call me said Shane
The next morning I got another call
Your Dad is in the hospital
No explanation of what was wrong with him
I called the hospital to find his room number
Found him in bed and Mom waiting with him
He had a seizure
He can't drive for six months
I ate an omelet Mom made with ham and toast
I watched the Packers beat the Cowboys with Dad
It was the first meal I had eaten alone with them in years
I felt bad
Bad for all the meals I had missed because of bad words
I got some homemade salsa from them
I got a scare
But I got some time I wouldn't have had otherwise
Time with my Dad

MY GLORIOUS CATS

MY CATS HAVE IT MADE; EVEN WHEN THERE'S NO SHADE!THEY SAID; DADDY; WE'RE TAKING THE BEDROOM, AND YOU CAN HAVE THE COUCH! I'M THINKING TO MYSELF; THAT DOES'NT SOUND TOO GOOD; OUCH! BUT YOU KNOW;THEY'RE MY LIFE! EIGHT OF THEM, HAVE QUALITIES, I'D LOOK FOR, IN A WIFE!THE OTHER TWO, ARE MALES; WHO STRUT AROUND, PROUDLY, WAGGING THEIR TAILS! MY LANDLORD, ALLOWS ME TO HAVE ONE! IF HE KNEW, I HAD TEN; HE'D PULL OUT HIS GUN! WITHOUT SKIPPING A BEAT; HE'D THROW, THIS POET, AND HIS GLORIOUS TEN; OUT IN THE STREET! I FEED THEM, TWICE A DAY; AS THEY RUN, JUMP, AND PLAY!TONITE; WHEN I CLOSE THE BEDROOM DOOR; THE'LL HAVE LITTLE TIME TO GLOAT; FOR THEY WILL SOON, FIND OUT;I HID THE REMOTE!

Time

Time..will tell..or so..they say.
And what will be will be....
come what may.
Time
Waits for no man,
However it is of the essence
So,make the most of the time you have.
And...cherish...your... loved ones presence .

Will You Be My Roommate for Life?

Embedded image from another site

Where are you hiding, my darling?
Are you missing me, your other half?
Let's come as one to fill our hearts
To show each other that love is true.

Full of me? I've not yet been through
Waiting for the crew to sail on the ship
Keep exploring until we finish
Inspire next generation with endless stories

My biggest dream, oh you know it's family
With cozy nights with frequent smiles on face
As the home nothing can replace
Will you be my roommate for life? ??

Hidden Tears..........

your family is your love
your life and so much more
a tapestry of connections
woven through life's door
it binds your heart together
like a silken spiders web
beautiful and strong
but also delicate as a thread
the values that you hold
nurtured through your years
give credence to your life
to overcome your fears
at the centre of it all
is the one you hold so dear
your beautiful loving mother
whom you wish to be so near
to show her the love
which comes from deep inside
the seed that she planted
has bloomed with loving pride
the blossom that you are
shines brightly everyday
i see it in your garden
and in the words you say
keep your smile shining
for distance has no fare
love is an angel
that travels on wing and prayer......

Me

I love you
I hate you
I need you

Afraid to love
Afraid to be loved
Push most away
Scared of you

Have many fears
Don’t abandoned me
Tell me you love me
I won’t cry

Shadows always running through my head
Living with this condition
I’ve been given
My head hurts

Don’t judge
Show respect
Nobody’s perfect
