Grandma and Her Hero

She walked with beauty and elegant grace,
but sadness worn on her lovely face.
The years had passed that brought her joy.
And a glow that burnt so long ago.
A memory so dim, of how her heart was won.

He was always full of joy,
A joke and a laugh,
And hands that knew a metals worth and how to bend it to his will.
I knew him not but in stories only,
of how he spoke in earnest with rare and even temperament.
Who knew his time was short?
That time would come and go
And leave only scars and distant laughter spent.

But this was a love story true and real,
I know because she told me.
She was the storyteller, the one who cried the tears.
Who told of listening to the music he would play and tell me of how she danced with him.
Though the years have past and so has she, I remember and so must we.

slow your roll

Life begins in an instant and ends in that same moment at the speed of light we have no time to fight for when the dust clears and the sun does rise it will all be seen through someone else´s eyes

dont cry daddy

Today I stumbled from my bed
With thunder crashing in my head
My pillow still wet
From last night tears
And as I think of giving up
A voice inside my coffee-cup
Kept crying out
And ringing in my ears

Don't cry daddy
Daddy, please don't cry
Daddy, you've still got me and little Tommy
Together we'll find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please don't cry

Why are children always first
To feel the pain and hurt the worst
It's true, but somehow
It just don't seem right
'Cause ev'ry time I cry I know
It hurts my little children so
I wonder will it be the same tonight

Don't cry daddy
Daddy, please don't cry
Daddy, you've still got me and little Tommy
Together we'll find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please don't cry
Oh, daddy, please don't cry

From Dad With Love

You can make mistakes and still be OK.
Everyone has made mistakes.
Most of them survive.
Not everyone learns from them, though.
Learn from your mistakes.

You deserve good things to happen to you.
The only people who don`t get good things,
are those who don`t think they deserve them,
and therefore don`t let good things happen to them.

It`s good to have goals, but sometimes
they seem so far away.
When that happens, break them up into smaller steps
and stay focused on what you want.
Keep going, one step at a time.

Our fears can`t happen,
unless they get a lot of help from us.

It`s your responsibility,
but it`s not your fault.

The best thing people can tell us about
ourselves, sometimes, is the truth.
Just make sure they are telling you the truth
for your sake, because they care, and not just
because they`re dumping their
anger, or frustration, or unhappiness on you.

The best way to make friends is to tell them
good, positive things about themselves.
But make it real, and true, and not empty flattery.

When you`re not sure what to do, ask
yourself, what would your Dad do?
It might not be the best idea,
right for you, or the solution you ultimately
choose. But it`s a good place to start.

You must feel the joy of life,
just as much as the pain.
Life is about both of these things.

And remember, no matter what happens,
there is at least one person in this world
who loves you no matter what.

About this poem:
This actually my father wrote for me when I moved to La Crosse. He wanted me to have me words of encouragement so I`d keep my head held high. Of course, a lot of bad things happened there but I did experience those things at least and kept on living. Thanks dad. I`ve kept these words close. Hopefully these words can help all of you too.

DEATH

Oh! Death, I do know you are, much waiting, to take me away.
I know I am much dearer to you, as I am, to the others too.
I know you want me for yourself, for you too love me, as the others do.

But tell me one thing my dear.
How would you ever feel, like taking me away, from my dear ones?
Who love me more than, you do.

Would you ever be able to, separate me, from my love,Who never lets me free even for a moment, from the warmth of his hugs.

Would you ever feel like departing me, from my dear most friends, Who are much dearer to me, than you are?

Would you ever be able to snatch me, away from my dear mother, Who cradled me, in her arms, through my childhood?

Oh! Death please wait for now, till I become strong enough To bear the separation, of my dear ones. Please wait for me, till my dear ones are strong enough, To stay in this world without me.
Please wait! Now, is not the time not the time yet?

For you, to take me away…………………..

Within Get Out

The pretty colors
in the sky.
The twinkle i see
in my baby's eye
when where watching
the rain come down.
There is water all
around.
The clouds are full
of colors too: yellow
grey black and blue.
Water falling faster now
filling holes it seems
like every where.
Beauty all around me
now i take it in
and put it in my poetry
then all can see the
beauty that is within me.
I can share it now with
thee for all eternity.

To My Octogenarian Aunt

If you're still out chasing fellas
and you're wobbly on your feet,
Catch one that can tie his tie,
and dresses rather neat.
Be sure you sleep in seperate beds
so you can't hear him snore,
Seperate rooms are dandy too
so you can close your door.
And if he comes to pester you
just kiss him on the cheek,
And tell him that your headache
should be gone this time next week !

S E A R C H I N G

For i think i have found
the family i longed for.
For God has lead me to
where he wants me to be.
For He has shown me how
to let my sadness out
to just be happy and free.
To be who i am a christian
with a family.
To be praising God's word
and worshiping him in all
that i do and say each day.
Look into yourself and see
where God wants to lead thee
so you can follow him for
all eternity.

Who Are You?

Who am I?
You must find the answer.
How do I do that?
Seek with all of your heart.

Where do I look?
Inside, everywhere you have been.
Why am I so lost?
That is your question.

How can one lose oneself?
By losing focus.
But what if there was no focus?
There is always focus.

Can you help me to understand?
If you listen, you will hear.
Why am I scared?
To face oneself is the hardest task of all.

Why is that?
The unknown is terrible to behold.
Who are you?
I am you.

Sports

My son's sport is ending soon
he wants only to let his
skills bloom for all to see
even the coach from the
high school which he will
be in real soon.
He loves to through the ball
you see for his team and in
the future some university.
His position is looked up
to by all around as he is in
the limelight for all to watch.
He is the center of attraction
for the team you see he is the
one with the ball trying to
get a goal just for me.
Now go enjoy the last game and
be all that you can be for
you not for me.
