fresh moments

Everyone should be given the chance to be new every minute,
Not labeled, limited and listed in catalogued classification.
Foolish words uttered yesterday are unsaid by the setting sun,
washed away by the new moon tides: fresh thoughts have already begun.
Release me from patterned opinion, let me be new; and i'll tear up the stagnant records i kept about you.
Everyone should be given the chance to be born again minute by minute,
The world isnt standing still nor anything in it.........

take pause

my son comes by and looks over my shoulder
at his picture on my PC's wallpaper
he analyses it carefully seeing
himself as so young, so innocent
he can't believe he was ever that
young and innocent
(he's twenty now)

life spans before him like the view
from a tollbooth at a suspension bridge
his motor revving a little
he looks at the collector in the booth
then at the long span
over the river of life
ready to ride, he presses the gas,
confidently grips the wheel
and pulls away, the music in his ears

A "Nanna's" Thoughts...

Loving them means more to me
Than words could ever say,
They're the warming rays of sunshine
That welcomes each new day,

They're the singing of the swallow
That welcomes in the Spring,
Without them close beside me
Life just wouldn't mean a thing,

They're as gentle as a summer breeze
Upon the morning mist,
As fragrant as the morning dew
By which each rose is kissed,

When all around is darkness
They brighten up my life,
Brighter than the brightest star
That lights the sky at night,

They're locked forever in my heart
I've thrown away the key,
There could never be another love
As great as them and me......

ME

ME
HOLD ME LOOSE BUT LOVE ME.
LET ME SEE WHAT I CAN BE.
ALL MY LIFE I'VE BEEN FOR OTHERS.
SOMEONE'S CHILD, SOMEONES WIFE,
SOMEONE'S MOTHER.
I'VE LOVED THEM ALL.
BUT NOW, YOU SEE.
I WANT TO KNOW WHAT I CAN BE.
IF I BE ME

ol' bones

she circles slowly
teetering in life
hard to move
hard to hold
patient she enjoys
sun and rest
and rest and sleep
won't be long now
but still a purr
can be coaxed
from the day
satisfaction in
the waiting

My Gan-gan

A single mom at age fifteen,
A mind of her own, entire.
When women's lib came on the scene,
No changes were required.

She raised her daughter up to be,
Equally independent.
In ev'ry way, I have to say,
She was her mom's descendant.

She didn't like the "Grandma" name,
Being only thirty-five.
So Gan-gan was the name she chose,
When her first grandchild arrived.

She worked at jobs for other folks,
No time to be romantic.
My first memory of her work,
Shipping vitamins organic.

Her only child raised up and wed,
She started her own bus'ness.
And quite successful was she too,
To that I am a witness.

Chiropractors phones she answered,
Black phones with dials dismounted.
She never missed a call for them,
The only thing that counted.

Twice a year she would take time off
At Christmas and Thanksgiving.
On Black Friday, go downtown,
To do our Christmas shopping.

The window decorations charmed,
Our little eyes with wonder.
We'd stop and stare in rapt delight,
As the crowds around would thunder.

On streetcars we would make the trip,
Those special times with Gan-gan.
And memory still melts my heart,
Even now as an old man.

No Strings Attached

To every tear I might ever wipe away, to every hug and every kiss,
to every moment that I spent with you or a moment I may ever miss,
to every smile you've ever smiled at me in ways only you could do,
to every kind wish you have ever made and felt I'd made come true,
to advice I may have given and you've felt it coming from my heart,
to times I've held your hand to get you through the toughest part,
to every bit of laughter I may have brought you to lift your day,
to every moment you ran into my arms and never chose to run away,
to each and every moment I was there to catch you when you'd fall,
to every time I might have been ready to answer in case you'd call,
I say it's because I love you with no strings attached to my heart,
without you here in my life I'd be missing a most important part..

life's pram

perpetually pushing perambulators
can be the effect of licentious satyrs

kids, children, progeny, the like
a boy, a girl, a toddler, a tyke

can fill up nights and days as well
with incessant demands as kids rebel

forever pampering the coddled child
will make man or woman increasingly riled

launched offspring like springs to return
to cause their parents some measured concern

so beware your actions that carry the day
lest life for you change in a significant way

BOUT BE VALUABLE

She was formed by a love and hope are wonderful. Planned by a gift of the Spirit in which the simple hearts wrapped. Who can touch what can not be seen by the world. Exhaled to find beauty. Given life to take advantage of the time. Lived by the soul in mind that can penetrate the words. Determined to be valuable.
She was born without knowing what to do. Brought up in a place that is not wanted. Surrounded by dreams that haunted her childhood. Covered lonely without touching the heart. Restored by the spirit that's easy to go out. She stepped in uncertainty. Deny what has been believed. Following a false heart desires. In her hesitation, she tried to chase time. But the more she ran, the further time left. And she wept for herself over and over again. Reason often rebelled, pressing the rest of the pain. She lost in what she called "personal failure". But God called it: "Learning Process".
In the midst of her nightmare, she woke her dressing destruction. Venture at the Future, eliminate uncertainty. Learn to wait, no longer chasing time. She could stand in the suffering of her soul. She was against the pain with hope. And she closed the empty spaces with Love and Forgiveness. Now, she stood in front of me. Giving another meaning than before. She developed a smile on her face with something that has long I been waiting for, that is Thanksgiving. I was standing in front of the mirror. And I looked at her face, saying: "You are worthy, Great Price".

The Bright Red Train

The Bright Red Train

With unbelieving eyes, though it was a glorious day,
I saw a bright red train quickly pass along my way.
At the very first sight of it, the likes I’ve never seen,
I couldn’t help but wonder where the hell’s it been?
It wasn’t until later I thought, where will it now go,
I think I should have followed, now I’ll never know!
