Where Old Men Sit

Where Old Men Sit

Did you see that youth who passed you by
even though his pace was true and fast,
Did you watch him from your ancient eye
knowing his speed would never last?

Did you as a teenager show the same grit
when you played a young man’s game,
Did his arrogance rile your aged spirit
though long ago you were the same?

Would you care to know what became of him
that young man who like a wisp of smoke,
With handsome features and muscles trim
passed you by daily yet never spoke?

He’s led a full life that impetuous boy
though sometimes he was mistaken,
When with the ladies he felt such joy
more often than not was forsaken!

Treasures galore have blessed his life
like quicksilver spent on luxuriance,
When all had gone he felt no strife
for he wasted it with exuberance!

If you ask him of his greatest prize
he would answer with little hesitation,
Though not as simple as you might surmise
his reply would be, his many children!

Now in later years he will always compete
to be among the first on a daily visit,
To the rustic place where his cronies meet
that favoured bench, where old men sit!

The Proud Cemetery

The Proud Cemetery

When Winter ice begins to slither
and Jack Frost begins to dither
when April has its annual shower
and daffodils begin to quiver.

When windy days have lost their shiver
and gangs of sparrows start to gather
when thoughts come to a loving father
and he knows he has a good daughter.

When Winter clothing goes in the drawer
and a young man is glad he saw her
when nature urges all things hither
and lustful loins begin to shudder.

When all this has turned to Summer
and two young bodies come together
when the young man is glad he won her
and the good daughter's to be a mother.

When Autumn comes but feels like Winter
and the young man then forsakes her
when she turns to her dad for shelter
and he says "You're not my daughter!"

When she feels all the world disowns her
and then she meets an out of towner
when he supplies her with a booster
and she takes it and takes it further.

When she finally ends up like a dosser
and dirty legs galore go across her
when she dies of Aids just like a leper
and her grave reads "Beloved Daughter!"

Looking For A Sugar Daddy

Thoughts of poverty like a cloud hanging over me
My children with their needs for survival growing; questioning my mastery
As continuing setbacks in life have my fortunes down on the canvas for the count of nine
Another adult in the household becomes my daily business to find.

My message of hope places a few basic requirements on the table
Lokking for dollar signs from a select few who consider themselves able
A few meetings develop for candidates attracted to my rescue plan
A standard level of chivalry expected from the charismatic to the obviously boring and bland.

I settle upon one while expressing sincere thanks to the rest
Choosing a middle of the road applicant instead of the best
Living day to day like many others part of a national trend
If my satisfaction is not complete I'll just have to start looking again.

About this poem:
Desperate times demand desperate solutions. Money seems to be the answer to problems most of the time. Short term solutions may or may not work out. A big bank account triumphs over a big heart.

Bury Me

Bury Me
by me
jimmy v

if this is the path i choose,
if this is the road i take,
if these are the mistakes i make,
just let me make them.
let me fall,
let me cry,
let it hurt till i wish to die.
then, let me learn...
let me see through my own eyes,
let me bleed it out for a while,
let me fight with denial,
just let me live.
i need space,
i need air,
just please stay back there.
but, watch me live...
don't make me you,
don't force it through,
don't feed me the same shit life fed you,
please let me go.
let me walk,
watch me fly,
if it is then let me live the lie.
then, watch me die...
remember the person,
remember the fun,
remember the days till the last one is done.
don't morn me,
be happy for me,
be proud of me,
don't ever shed a tear for me.
then... bury me.

shadow of darkness

Do you miss me through the shadow of darkness, I can see you but i'm blinded by our love, things that i do take for granted by one should always be appreciated.

Our love was strong but now that we're apart all the memories are always there, locked up inside of deep emotion i wonder what will happen to us. I've been hurt so who do i learn to no and trust, draws like a magnet to each of us deviding two worlds apart through the power and strength of love.

What direction shall i follow will it be the right or wrong there is only one past way to choose.

Walking away from another.

You are just the same as dad,
The things you done are bad!
Them things there was no need for,
But you should have thought of that before.
You are another one who is meant to be,
There to help and support me.
But where was in you in times of need?
No matter how much I would plead.
When something came out where did you go?
Why should I have to put on a show?
Beside me is where you should have been,
Since then an empty space is all I’ve seen.
So dear mother, I will stand no more,
I hope one day you fall to the floor.
I hope you get the help that I received,
After all it was me you never believed.
And for them few other things,
Hope you can handle what life slings.
I’ve taken all I can handle from you,
Those things I’m tired of going through.
So yet another bad termed good bye,
I can’t believe you wanted me to try!

the better side of me

i was not thier the day you were born
i never knew that you were concievied
when you finally came into my life
thier was mixed emotions
true indeed
i was living life at that time
day to day
waiting for my last breath
a ever ending search for god
an ever ending search for me
blessed to have you come into my life at the age of three
instantly i see your light

instantly i see me
god grants us blessings in mysterious ways
you my daughter is my blessing even on those crazy days
your going through your teen thing
your going through your teen phase

i finally know the meaning why parents love the ones they raise
through all the difficult times
through all the great days
thier is no stronger bond
than your child, the baby that you raised
you are now a young lady
whom i am very proud
still daddys little girl
and still daddys little pal

Tricia ...p2

Beneath the shade of the frangipani
You spent your hours there
Ciggie butts overflowing
While the wind played
Havoc with your hair
Your vision always blurred
From the past of your despair
But a smile always welcomed
From under your bespectacled glare
Lost in your world
Amongst thoughts an memories
You'd hardly notice a visitor
Until upon you.. you'd freeze
Out with a shreik
Then your focus repaired
Hello daaaarling was your reply
To show that you cared
Beneath the frangipani
Especially in bloom
You mended many memories
An absolved your gloom
