Every Year Haiku

Men lean on shovels
Orange barrels block the road
Tax dollars at work

My life an hourglass
Top unseen; season unknown
Never to be turned.

last farewell

her sad face smiling
soft touch on trembling lips
winter is coming

About this poem:
A first attempt at writing poetry in the Japanese Haiku style.
From a fleeting memory of a last farewell at Osaka railway station many years ago.

War Costs

Gray clouds on blue sky
War traumas never do heal
The sun always shines.

I Like You, Haiku

Once sprayed by a skunk
Funny now, but then I stunk
Covered me in gunk

It's hard not to rhyme
In daytime or in nightime
Haiku's pass the time

About this poem:
A haiku attempt that couldn't shy away from rhyming. I think it is more of a challenge to rhyme within syllable guidelines, it's a lot more fun, too. I really was sprayed in the eyes by a skunk when I was twelve, and strangely enough, my vision has always been great!

Garden of Love

Bursting with flowers.
You are my garden of love.
I feast upon you.
