Icarus

circling nearer sun
too high, too hot, too foolish
embrace earth’s caress

Clouds (A Tanka)

fleecy grey white clouds
like giant grains of popcorn
edged with wisps of mist
in a clear azure blue sky
glowing in brilliant sunshine

3 Dog Haiku

dog breaks wind in sleep
awakens and sniffs the air
then bolts from the room

dog in playful mood
spinning around and around
to catch its own tail

dog sniffing the grass
searching for the perfect spot
to put down a poop

Haiku 7 - Nature's Diamonds

on the rose petals
sparkling with the morning sun
bright dewdrop diamonds

beneath the streetlight
glistening on the snowflakes
sparkling white diamonds

on the ripples
shimmering in the sunshine
dancing water diamonds

A winter Collection of haiku's

icicles dangling
glittering silver droplets
slowly they will melt

slush everywhere slush
left behind by melting snow
land now watery

ice glistening bright
vast expanse over the lake
now here until spring

arctic snow flurries
sweep across the barren lands
settling in drifts

snow falling softly
clothing all the world in white
drifting aimlessly

angry seas, seagulls and sands (hauki)

angry seas rolling
wave on wave each one larger
swamping the small boat

seagulls circling
harsh cries ring out in the wind
plunging and fighting

sands stretching for miles
seaweed and shells scattered wide
strewn debray everywhere
