The struggle of a self-sustaining flame

Dear lonely friend,

I'm worried that you might feel to lost one of these days. Knowing this might help you:

I am abnormal, in an abnormal world; struggling, searching - desperately most of the times - enduring and becoming; stronger. I don't go to sleep anymore. I crash and let go to my desire. We've made peace, even builded trust. I found out that breaths of fresh air come, briefly, with more wisdom and patience, so be patient. Beware of life's irony and don't forget that we are fighters. We fight and reap the joy of a win, jumping into another, just seconds later.

I find confort in knowing that you are on the same path. I believe that our resolutions will stage an encounter someday, a test of sorts. There might not be a second chance so don't you dare hesitate! Remember me! With love,

Happiness.

You could be..

You could be a poem beaming
into my life as I face this
rainy day
You might be the one that
can ease the strife holding
my hand along the way
You could be the moon on a
starlit night that makes the
night air sing
You could be the one with the
magic touch with all that love
can bring~

A few extra pounds

A few extra pounds weighed
heavy on her mind
But her electrifying smile
was one of a kind
The other girls in the office
could swish and sway
They thought slim and slender
would win the day
But their pride was hurt when
that man walked in
And just passed them by with
roses in hand
So handsome was he you could
hear them swoon
But his feet kept walking into
another room
His heart was set on the real and
true
That's what he saw in her eyes
so blue
He approached her desk and you
could hear no sound
He lay down the roses then
spun her around
The girl who could carry a pound
with grace
Was surely the desire of this mans
taste
And as he gently slipped her from
her office chair
The slim and slender had no
strength to bare.

The Facts of Life

Our days quickly passing by
To slow the aging process, we usually try
Regardless, they go so fast
Our final destination, they cast
Reminding us of the memories of our past
Telling us that all we have is today
We must exert every possible effort to enjoy
About the future nothing we can do or say
It is unpredictable in every way
All we have is hope for a better tomorrow
Without regrets or sorrow
Those are the real fact of life
To enjoy our days, we must strive
Seize every opportunity to help someone
Without realizing it, they here today but tomorrow they are gone

I love you first

I loved you first: but afterwards your love
Outsoaring mine, sang such a loftier song
As drowned the friendly cooings of my dove.
Which owes the other most? my love was long,
And yours one moment seemed to wax more strong;
I loved and guessed at you, you construed me
And loved me for what might or might not be –
Nay, weights and measures do us both a wrong.
For verily love knows not ‘mine’ or ‘thine;’
With separate ‘I’ and ‘thou’ free love has done,
For one is both and both are one in love:
Rich love knows nought of ‘thine that is not mine;’
Both have the strength and both the length thereof,
Both of us, of the love which makes us one

Only one You in I

There's an I.O.U. in every
transaction and sometimes
a Y in every vow
And there's a million ways
I could scramble these letters
that I won't attempt just now
There's an alphabet of love
they say written accross the
sky
And no matter how many times
I gaze at those clouds I see
only one You in I~

Christmas alone..

Some might call it a
lonely christmas sittin'
here in the dark..
But my lil' tree is all
I need to warm my weary
heart..
I guess family could be
here but it wasen't meant
to be..
So I'll gaze at this lovely
glow from my lil' christmas
tree..

Blackbirds in the corn

A blackbird taps out
A morning reveille on
My window beckoning
Me to watch the
Conquest
Once he had me
At attention
He darts off to join
The ranks of a
Thousand black dots
Lining the wires in
Military formation
A command.. then
The hum of wings
Fill the sky
An army of aerial
Warriors decend upon
A field ripe for
Harvest
The spoils of victory
Were many and I
Saluted the valiant
Effort
A solitary solidier
Swooped down to
My window and
Proudly displayed his
Golden nugget
He had captured
Kernel Corn!

AGELESS CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

Ah, winter! What a glorious season. Especially with it`s white fascinating blanket of snow. But realistically , it means that cars won`t start, & you see smoking chimneys, blowing, howling winds,& lots of falling snow.
Just another time to store the tennis rackets, golf clubs, & the mower, that won`t mow.
Some people can be seen being resourseful, winterizing their cars & houses, just in case of a winter freeze.
In keeping with rituals of celebrating , with church services, & beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
Bur when it snows, the term "energy saver" does not apply to an older person, when cleaning the driveway for more than a day...
You get a shovel & get a rhythm going & suddenly your hip lock up to one side...& your back stiffens up in some crazy way!
You know you`re aging when it gets in the way of what needs doing & you can find more "energy" to do it all...& you may not care if it EVER gets done!
You`d rather just disappear when it snows...or wait for everything to melt with the sun.
`Bout the time your body loosens up & there`s another motion going, the handle of the shovel breaks in half, only to ricochet off the hood of your car, & into your knee.
Determined, you search fervently for another shovel, in your garage...only to trip over a ladder, slip on some grease, kick over a can of paint, & suddenly see a shovel standing in plain sight against a tree....
By now, your hands are numb & you have trouble opening the door to look for another pair of dry gloves (that don`t match)
& once again, you venture into the snow.
Meanwhile, some kids are playing And you automatically answer -"WHAT"? to someone you don`t even know!
Then you retire for the day, & reminisce about what the season means. You begin thinking about family, friends, & everyone.
And while you remember the exchange of greetings all week, somehow, you`ve forgotten to get the Christmas shopping done.
But for a minute there is a calming peace at the sight of glowing blinking lights, that seem to be shadow-boxing on a few houses nearby.
You halfway expect to see Santa, himself, with his reindeer & his sleigh, flying over all the rooftops in the sky.
And when everyone should be thinking of peace on earth & how a kind word or a smile can get the harshest person to connect...
In the malls, bustling children are scurrying around checking their wish lists, amid people, with their conversations, trying to be politically correct.
All at once, your thoughts stray to a time of raising your children, & you think of crazey glue in their hair, & a stain that would never come off the wall that really didn`t matter...
You stop to focus on the grand kids & if they too, know, you`d like to be in the midst of their clatter.
Then you`re back to reality, putting the shovel (that works) away, (in a safe place)...you hear from somewhere, bells that were softly chiming, Silent Night & so many things are brought to mind...
You suddenly bump into a box, that wouldn`t stay shut, with a teddy bear`s furry arm that dangled from it, seemed to say, "Welcome Home".
And in another box, higher then I could reach, was a well worn plastic Christmas tree (with two missing branches) making it another Christmas, ,only again... just one of a kind.

About this poem:
This may not be the norm of anything, showing it is unique, like all of us are. But sometimes we seem to forget what is always more important & keep to focus on other things that don`t really matter, yet take all our time.
Time passes quickly & there seems to not be enough with the way we think, so we usually waste it.

Genesis

"Genesis"

Life is born amongst us here, unceasing and always relevant...
we see it with every breath...the crest of the Sunflower so bright,
the unstable footing of the newly born fawn,
the erratic patterns of the Dragonfly.

Ah yes! Even death is but a moment in time, subsumed by the life it replaces...
a doorway perhaps ~ a fortuitous return to what was, only much more....
and even to return to this sacred place...this grove of wonder and splendor.
Through three valleys and seven gates...I remember it all , across glade and spring...
from just below the timberbreak...I see her now.

I've been here before.... to be sure!
Between the hedgerow, she pauses, smiling, welcoming me back once again.
Looking into the heavens, she points me to their path....Luna, Orion and Sirius...
Majestic movements, witness the silent hum of the oribits above!
The music of spheres ring true tonight my friend ~
Under the mosaic of the heavens ... we dance...
the perpetual dance of the the evening sky reflected in her eyes...
...we dance...
