Poet's Pen

Some men dig for gold
deep within the earth
Others explore the heavens
searching for their worth
But the poet will find all
these things with a single
stroke of the pen
When they find that gold in
a heavenly heart that glitters
deep within~

X Games

Take a ride on the
wild side, and ride
with those who dare
Hang on to your hat
and coat doin' that
360 in the air
Oh, You've see us in
the arena with a
thousand camera's a-
flashin'
Hangin' on to that dirt
bike in all this death-
defying action
Get you a roll of tickets
and watch how fast they sell
As we ramp at 110 accross
the Canyon of Hell
We're a new generation takin'
it to the next level
Daredevils without a fear
attempting the impossible
X Games is our badge as we
soar ever higher
Challenge us with the
untouchable
But bring a ring of fire!

PERFECT SETTING

As the sun nestles into the horizon
like a glowing ember,
it shows an amber hue,
and I remember you.
Like the reflections that glimmer
of the sun as it simmers on the sea,
I see you dance . . .
aloft . . . aloof . . .
Alone.
Elusive romance often hides
like darting rays behind disguise.
Even clouds can’t shroud your eyes
of the sparkle I detect.
Our hearts are circumspect.
Hark! A twinkle is reflected
in the waves that wake . . . for shore.
So we wait . . . and dream of more
horizons to explore.
Holding hands on endless strands
of sand that sifts through time...
To tock along the beach we walk,
mellowing like wine.
Each brilliant son* serenely sets
It’s best we let it rest . . .
Testing then our faith within
that our star will rise again.

About this poem:
* I composed this for a romantic interest, the mother of 3 delightfully intelligent sons, who at the time we met were understandably still very much devoted to their father, and thereby torn by the notion that their mother's interest had shifted towards me, despite our first glances & union occuring AFTER the finality of their parents' divorce. Too fresh to them, at my behest, we waited eons apart, to rekindle a romance, this poetry manifesting my sentiments for her.

ENCHANTING VIEW

Chat-Savvy Prose dedicated to "LuvLace"
in my uniquely innovative "Profuse" style
of excessive poetic elements.

Hear . . . Take my hand -written poetry and
Reach for me now
while I guide us to seæ
a beach on an isle~I’ll
take you with me
Please open Mind if we share fantasy?
Amidst a romantic lagoon
A mystical man’n’ the moon~
light
up the knight
for a lady’s fair fancy
Dancing alight
like the moonlit crests
of the waves that caress
for shore
Wanting more
caresses
he s l o w l y undresses…
her…
tresses…
removing the lace ( ;
A charming new face
gives a smile : )
They kisss :^*
ahhh_wile!
XXXtra lonnng
{{{HUnG}}}s
wO00 her
Like the song…
that he sings to her
BrrRINGs to her
kneæds
A please_sing melody
A romantic serenade
MAiDE of Honor
on her
strings of her heart
he sings
on his
guitar not far from the fire
that burns within
their souls
yearn for the words they long to hear
“Isle of View” {I<3U]

isn’t far a_way
It’s just as close as
(you would like it ; )

About this poem:
This is written in just one of my many diverse styles. I call this unique poetic artistry "Profusion" because it is excessively bombarded with too many poetic elements, including some I've innovated*, such as:

Alliteration, Allusion, Antonyms, *"ArchieBunkerism", Assonance, *"Character Mapping", *"Colour", Dichotomy, *"DicLixCYa", Double-Entendre, Elision, *"FuNTS", Homographs, Homonyms, Homophones, (I know, what a bunch o' Homos! ; ), Hyperbole, Juxtaposition, Metaphors, Metonymy, Onomatopoeia, Oxymorons, Personification, *"PUNK'dU8shun" Puns, Similes, *"Strategic Phrasing", Subliminal, Symbolism, Synonyms, *"Textual InUendOH!", + others...

It is more for my own word-playa amusement (admittedly narcissistic?) than for layperson public consumption. Some of the elements may not be easily detected completely due to HTML limits in this post (if you'd like to view it in its "fool glory" in MS Word, email a request from/to your personal addy). Most get the surface level, but to fully appreciate its complex, deeper multiple meanings, reread & study it slowly and see if you can detect all 80+ of its intentionally composed poetic elements. Enjoy ( :

LOVE TRANSCENDS

Love transcends everything ~
Challenges . . .
Distance . . .
Time . . .
Like memories it evokes,
Love is never lost
If it's still found
within your heart.

Black Pearls on a Broken Heart

On a cold Nebraska morn
Another loney day is born
A broken gate swings in
the wind
That old heartache starts
again
She pulls herself from a
lonely bed
And drags a comb accross
her head
She pours a drink to help
her start
Wearing black pearls on a
broken heart
She reads the letters he
sent from the war
A hundred or so sprawled
on the floor
But all this is doing is
tearing her apart
Cause she's wearing black
pearls on a broken heart
She kisses his picture
hanging on the wall
As her millionth tear
begins to fall
She draws the curtains
and the tattered blinds
And locks the door for
the very last time
Such a shame she'll have to
part
With only these beads around
her heart
She drives to the plot that
bears his name
Knowing nothing could ever
be the same
She lays a wreath upon his
stone
Her final tears ..now she's
alone
In her purse there's a
sharpened knife
With this steel she'd take
her life
And she ended the life that
would never start
Wearing..black pearls on
a broken heart~

Heavens Wine

From the stairway to heaven
to this crystal stream
Wine coloured doves decend
on this forest dream
Lay down my love on leaves
of gold
From angels vials pour
dreams untold
Lay down my love in this
ethereal light
Touch my soul in this
mystic night
Let all creatures chant
to rhyme
While we sip from vials
of heavens wine~

Pulse

So this
is what
it's like
to be
in love
......
It's some
pow'rful
stuff. I
don't think
I can
take it
much more.
The fluct
ua
ting cy
cle of
emo
tions. They
take their
toll on
my ver
ry soul.
......
Without
you, I
can do
nothing
cause all
I can
think of
is you.
Your warmth,
your heart,
your smile,
your face,
even
your kind
gentle
embrace.
......
What once
only
was mere
flirta
tion now
designs
my sub
juga
tion. My
heart now
beats, not
"lub" or
"dub" but
now has
taken
up your
name. "My
love, my
love" drum
ming forth
from my
own chest.
"My love,
my love,
I need
my love."

Just Cruisin'

The sky was blue today and temp in the sixties
Zipping around town with the sunroof open
Designer shades on, feeling cool doing what I please
Dropped the son at work and in my own zen
Got my palm tree, Hawaiian....see I'm cool shirt on
A Beatles cd in playing " Love, love me do!"
Now you gotta admit that's cool....oh come on!
Picked up coffee at the local drive-thru
What a great day to be alive

Music gives me peace within
Sun gives me a shot of melatonin
Coffee gives me my caffein
The V6...adrenaline that I need
Money in my blue denim jeans
Blink and you're where I've just been

Moms and prams, teenagers, and taxis everywhere
Crest a hill and I can see for twenty miles
Red, orange and yellow pastels as I try not to stare
Leaves starting to turn as I start to smile
Wind in my hair....yah I gotta get a haircut!
I remember I gotta put my Green Day cd on
Cause i'm a rebel....not just half crazy
Life's great on a day like this....out in the sun
Maybe I'll stop for a cone or a six pack of wobbly pop
What a great day to be alive

Music gives me peace within
Sun gives me a shot of melatonin
Coffee gives me my caffein
The V6...adrenaline that I need
Money in my blue denim jeans
Blink and you're where I've just been

Yep on day's like this I want to live forever........
I inhale a breath of fresh air and the scent of pine
And then a lingering hint of bbq smoke
I turn the corner and head Westward into the bright setting sun
I stomp the peddle and the car kicks up some dirt from the road
Slides a bit and then catapults me forward
The cool air from the sunroof catches my oh too long hair
And rustles it against my ears
As I toe tap to Green Day singing "television dreams of tomorrow"
And head into the setting sun shimmering oh so bright
I disappear smiling into the abyss of solar light
I feel in tune with nature .......and somehow Content

Music gives me peace within
Sunshine gives me melatonin
Coffee gives me my caffein
The V6...adrenaline that I need
Money in my blue denim jeans
Blink and now I can't be seen!

Calandria's Dream

I keep seeing you
far away
the distance always
grows and yet
my thoughts
still seek
your fleeting
face
whispering
I know you
why must I
seek that
cannot have a
rose is sweeter
than a tear
that slips
between the arms
of time
that follows loves
surrender naught but
memories inside
a book
a jewelry box
within my heart
the gem
my heart
in meek display
cries out
for one
who knows
my name.
