Cat smiles

The dance hall was smokey
not my kind of place
I'd rather view the ocean
more suited to my taste
But the music was a bit
seductive so I lingered
for awhile
But the devil had paid
her ticket and allured
me with a smile
Somewhere between ten
and two my morals were
put on trial
Cause the cats claws had
sunk in deep..
When she whispered with
a smile***

Ode To A Policeman

The policeman is the strongest man in the world
As he can hold up all the traffic with just one hand
But there is a serious side to the policeman,
A protector of the innocent, a man who will risk his life
For anyone, no matter what walk of life,
Fearless of the ever present danger surrounding him,
He is often shunned by the public,
Underestimated by criminals and accused of corruption,
But is never given the credit he rightly deserves.
People should take a better view about this unsung hero
Of our times, the policeman.

The woman who didn't get got

She was more sexy than her coworkers
Oh yes! By far
She would blaze through the streets
In her fancy sports car
All the men at the pub would push
and strain
They drooled over hebeauty's's as though
they were insane
No woman could match her
No wit could catch her
But there was a catch to her story
It may sound a bit gory
But upon talking to this beauty which
every man felt his duty
She spoke to them as dirt as she swished
her satin skirt
Every man was offended and their affections
they recinded
They left her where she stood
She wasen't the dish to take home to mom
She was mean and nasty and left home at
the prom
All her beauty turned into a ball of snot...
This is the tale of the girl who didn't get got--

To My RSD Companion

I would like to clarify that, while you may wreak havoc on my body, and maybe even confuse my mind -- you cannot have my heart or my soul. You cannot have my faith, my hope, or my love. Even with all the challenges that you throw my way … the anxiety … fear ... frustration … there are good things that you have given me … things I never could have experienced had you not come to possess my body.

You have given me a strengthened spiritual life and increased inner strength … new and renewed friendships with strong, close, true friends … a new found appreciation for every precious moment I am given …a gift that is sometimes lost on the "healthy" … growth in character, perseverance, and hope … you have inspired me to want to help others … given me more compassion for others who are suffering … a better knowledge of my own body & health … a reason to eat more nutritiously and take care of myself…and reasons to rest when I need it.

You see, my lifelong companion … you will not find me an agreeable host. I will fight you, I will not give up. On bad days … I will take care of myself. On the good days … I will take advantage of every precious moment. You have thrown some obstacles in my life's journey, but I will go over them, around them or through them, no matter what it takes. In fact, while I am overcoming them, I will stop for a moment to reflect upon the mountain I am climbing, plant a few seeds and experience the moment … then continue on .. I will learn and grow from this encounter and help others who are struggling.

You cannot beat me … you will not bring me down … unless I allow you to … and thanks to you … I am stronger and wiser than that … so my friend it will never happen … I will be as miserable to you … as you are to me … I will be more stubborn than you … I will be more resilient than you … I am a winner … for this I thank you

About this poem:
Although this is not a poem it is something I wrote in 2010. I had a very bad workplace accident in 2009. One that changed life drastically and forever. I fell from about 11 feet onto 6x6 steel framing of a motorcoach. The fall shattered my left elbow, tore my shoulder up, degloved my left forearm and split my head open. I am quite frankly, very lucky to have survived. Upon recovering consciousness, I discovered that I had avoided being impaled by a 3 foot steel rod by about 1 inch. I had somehow landed with the rod between my chest and my axilla. Two inches to the right and I would not be here right now. As the healing process began the intense pain and abnormal swelling weren't subsiding and the injuries weren't healing in a normal fashion. About 6 months later I was diagnosed with a condition referred to as RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). An extremely rare neurological condition that affects about 200 in 200,000 people suffering taumatic injury. There is no cure only management This condition has left me with constant intense burning pain 24/7 in my left side along with other neurological complications ... RSD is now manifesting itself in other areas of my body. I wrote this in defiance of the condition ... I will never allow this condition to change who I am and what I can become. If I have to live with this ... I will not let it control me ... I will remain in control ... It has made more appreciative of life and love ... for that I am thankful ...

The eyes..

Seeing deeply
Seeing through
Seeing me by
seeing you
Peer into these
orbs of oceans
deep
I close these
soul mirrors
in blissful
sleep~

400 poems

400 poems seems like
a whole bunch of
chatter
But CS poets can
sum up the matter
It's all for one
and one for all
Where Knight's and
Maidens stand ten
feet tall!
Step up to the plate
and spin out a verse
Make it long and windy
or make it terse
Tease us, please us,
or make us cry
Tommorow we'll laugh
under our castle sky
A lil imagination is
good for the soul
What magic hath thee
to fill this bowl?
White stallions await
on restless hooves
We'll send forth doves
or we'll chase down
wolves
We're an army of one
under this firy sun
Three cheers to CS
for all this fun~

what difference a year makes

Can a year in your life a difference make....Is it the same as to throw a stone in the lake....The ripples spread out it would seem never ending...Or is this just another year pending....What would i want the the difference to be.....Perhaps solve every problem for me....But it could also be the end of the end....And drive me round the bend......To old for change no years difference do i need...Only if the difference would mean our world we could feed...But as usual when we humans are put to the test....Its not the difference but the indifference where we fail the test........jw

gentle and kind

I listen to my heart beat beat beating away.....But my head will not listen to what my heart has to say...Why are my head and my heart at war?....Why barr my way to loves door....My head says wait my heart asks why.....Lifes to short i want love before i die.....But my head wins the battle once again....And my heart suffers the pain.....I wonder when this will end...Because its driving me round the bend...So if youre out there lady gentle and kind....Please come to me and save my mind......jw

Lonely girl at the club..

She takes a sip and
flips her hair
She looks around to
see if anybody
cares
Twenty years of breaking
hearts
Now she's old and wants
to part
She stares at herself in
the bar room mirror
The truth stares back
as she gulps a beer
'To hell with men she
blurts without shame..'
Give me a chance and I'll
do the same..'
She pulls a pistol from
inside her purse
Watch her now as she plans
her worse
She fires off three rounds
and everyone ducks
'I'm nobodys fool and you
men are nuts!
Two more rounds and the
bar tenders' dead
Only one round of death's
sweet lead
But before she shoots a woman
stood close
She said,'I'd like to make
an evening toast..'
But would you mind telling
me what book you've been
reading..'
You seem so engrossed and
you're expression intriqing'
'Oh, yes Mamm, I'm just
waiting for my mommy'
We're waiting for my daddy
and his name is Johnny..'
So my mommy gave me this book
to read
It's about a lonely woman with
and evil seed..'
You can join us for dinner
and bring your hub
Mabey you'll read
Lonely girl at the club~

Crazy Man

I met a crazy man
in the park
He mumbled and jumbled
His words were dark
But there was a gleam
in his eyes which I
couldn't discern
Was this just madness
or was there wisdom
to learn?
I smiled at the man
not wanting to offend
I made my departure
never seeing him again
Many years passed
when one day I was
awakened
In a hospital I sat
with my memory so
shaken
The doctors said,' I had
lay in the dark'
'It was I said they, who
was crazy in the park.'~
