Yanking the chain or chaining the Yank

Having commented on several blogs and been given the order of the boot, along with other posters, in no uncertain manner by certain O.P.s I have to call in to question people's own mentality. There seems to be a group mentality on here of late which defeats the whole object of blogging. Control freaks springs to mind to say the least.

On one particular blog about libraries I found this interesting comment.

Antisocial personality disorder, sometimes called sociopathy, is a mental disorder in which a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others. People with antisocial personality disorder tend to antagonize, manipulate or treat others harshly or with callous indifference. They show no guilt or remorse for their behavior.

Common sense springs to mind that if you continually slag off others on here by calling them bastards, commie, d*ck heads, get back in the kitchen, do some knitting, the list is endless especially from one particular poster, are you not totally guilty of the one thing that you decry in others.

Answers on a postage stamp please.grin

truth vs belief

Our mind is designed to run on both belief and truth. It is necessary to strike a balance between the two.
Truth is bitter, belief is sweeter. Truth requires logic, belief does not require logic. Truth is an endless process of logic, belief is a full-stop of logic. Truth is workout, belief is rest. Truth requires a brain, belief does not require a brain.

A scientist reaches a truth by applying a lot of logics. Many years later, another scientist proves that truth wrong by applying another logic. In this way the endless process of logic continues in truth.

Everyone believes in Belief according to their own will. For this we twist the truth in favor of our belief.

We cannot always depend on logic alone, nor can we always depend on belief. It is important to keep a balance in both. If both are imbalanced then we will start harming ourselves and each other.

Lyin' Rudy...

Trump's former the lawyer Rudy Giuliani is a central figure in an investigation into election interference in Georgia. He's due to appear before a special grand jury and has been telling prosecutors that following his unspecified medical procedure, he cannot travel to the state to appear because he is not healthy enough to fly.
Giuliani told prosecutors his doctor ordered him not to fly, but that didn't stop him from flying to New Hampshire on August 1st where he incriminated himself posting the visit on social-media.
Georgia prosecutors said they had obtained records showing Giuliani had purchased multiple airline tickets with cash, including tickets to Rome, Italy, and Zurich, Switzerland, for flights between July 22 and July 29. All of those dates were after the witness's medical procedure.

One door closes.....another opens wide....

....so, with all the worldwide qvetsching about novid 19, all the gloom and doom, I boldly ask, what about the PLUS sides of this latest pander demic? I can think of lots of these. No doubt so can the Brilliant and Dazzling CS Posters' Club. For starters, I no longer have to make up stupid and impossible to believe lies about missing tedious meetings. Did so already several times this week. To whine is human, to be grateful, and sneaky, divine. What a Virus---what a Country!

The 48 Laws Of Power. By Robert Greene

Just a share of an interesting book.

LAW 1

NEVER OUTSHINE THE MASTER
JUDGMENT

Always make those above you feel comfortably superior. In your desire to please and impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite—inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power.

LAW 2

NEVER PUT TOO MUCH TRUST IN FRIENDS, LEARN HOW TO USE ENEMIES
JUDGMENT

Be wary of friends—they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

LAW 3

CONCEAL YOUR INTENTIONS
JUDGMENT

Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelop them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.

LAW 4
ALWAYS SAY LESS THAN NECESSARY

JUDGMENT

When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control. Even if you are saying something banal, it will seem original if you make it vague, open-ended, and sphinxlike. Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less. The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish.

LAW 5
SO MUCH DEPENDS ON REPUTATION—GUARD IT WITH YOUR LIFE

JUDGMENT

Reputation is the cornerstone of power. Through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once it slips, however, you are vulnerable, and will be attacked on all sides. Make your reputation unassailable. Always be alert to potential attacks and thwart them before they happen. Meanwhile, learn to destroy your enemies by opening holes in their own reputations. Then stand aside and let public opinion hang them.

What Is A Blog?

According to Google (very mad that dirty b...), a blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

The CS site says: . A Blog is a journal you may enter about your life, thoughts, interesting experiences, or lessons you've learned. Post an opinion, impart words of wisdom, or talk about something interesting in your day. Update your blog on a regular basis, or just whenever you have something to say. Creating a blog is a good way to share something of yourself with others.

So the sky is the limit! Almost. And what do people reach for when there are practically endless possibilities?

Your range of imagination is on display. If you are creative or not it will show here. Your intellect or lack thereof is on display. Your compulsions, obssessions, phobias. Your biases, your bigotry, your hypocrisy.

Your inclination toward honesty and integrity, or your tendency toward being a lying sociopath.

It's really up to the individuals to decide for themselves the face they want to wear...or hide.

The Crossroads

Late one night, some years ago, I was walking home when I reached a crossroads where, from out of nowhere, appeared a shadowy figure. Although I was eager to get home he managed, easily, to engage me in conversation, as he was very charismatic. He was also very persuasive, but, luckily for me, nothing transpired that required the removal of my trousers. We came to an arrangement.

Now that I have reached an age where thoughts of my mortality are becoming ever more prevalent, I am plagued with regrets about the agreement I entered into. If I could turn back the clock to that night at those crossroads, this time I would keep right on walking when that stranger appeared, or at the very least be more ambitious in my negotiations. It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed the local fame that came with being a virtuoso of the spoons, but it is only in hindsight that it occurs to me that the electric guitar might have been a more rewarding choice. sigh
