INSECURITY

insecurity
gnawing away their insides
turns to nastiness

(Senryu)

If someone does not approve of certain actions of a person, does that mean he/she HATES that person?
Labelling others as HATERS, MORONS, LOSERS, IDIOTS, IMBECILES, etc., merely because they may not approve of the actions of a person is childish, immature and reflects a certain measure of psychological insecurity.
If you do not agree with the views of others, then criticise their views logically and constructively rather than resort to name calling and deragatory remarks.

(Some of you may be familiar with Haiku.
It's a form of Japanese poetry consisting of three lines:
line 1 - 5 syllables,
line 2 - 7 syllables,
line 3 - 5 syllables
Haiku deals mainly with Nature.
Senryu has a similar format but its focus is on human behaviour.)

Kindness... The most beautiful "art"...

I have a neighbor… He comes from a family of criminals… Yep… They are on the web… Killers, robbers, drug sellers… But… He seems to want to do things “right” in his own way… And he is absolutely adorable with me… I have not a single complaint to make about him… He told me he loved lasagna, once… I asked him his birth date and said to him: “That day, we are going to eat lasagna… You and I”…
That day he was all dressed up… I said “Happy Birthday!!!”, hugged him and we started walking… I said: “Let´s stop at the bakery… A “pit stop”, jajajajajajajaja… He laughed and I told him to wait for me outside… I bought everything I thought he would enjoy eating… When I came out, we walked to a park and sat… I started taking all the stuff out and he was shocked… We had pizza, a huge piece of a very yummy cheese, sodas, ranch dressing… At one point, his eyes were teary and he said: “Elena, I will never forget this day”… I said: “Well, that´s my intention… To make it unforgettable”… At that moment, I saw a 56 year old man, with the face of a seven year old on Christmas Eve… My heart smiled… BIG… He saved some of the food for his youngest boy at home… He has TEN kids… All of them almost grown up, now… But they grew up under very hard conditions… We kept walking to our main destination and stopped for his birthday piece of cake… He picked the chocolate one and I picked the “Tres leches”… I had all the people there sing “Happy Birthday” and again, he had teary eyes… I bought another piece of cake for him to take home and after that, we couldn't eat anything else, but I bought him that lasagna anyways and he took it home… He hugged me and said “Thank you so much… I love you”…
A few days after, he knocked on my door and told me I had forgotten to turn my external lights off... I said: "Thank you so much for being so sweet to me"... He said: "You are the most wonderful neighbor, anyone can have, beautiful... Anything you need, just let me know"...

I believe kindness is contagious... I have seen it...

Do you agree with me?... Would you like to share your thoughts on this subject?...

To my dear friends (enemies as well), specially Billy

I'm grateful. Thankful and feel blessed for every breath I take.

Being over the hill is only a state of mind. Our body might be beat, our minds tired, our strength diminish but the reality is, we are capable of steering our mind set against all these negativity and live our lives full of joy and happiness. You're with someone or alone, doesn't matter. Only you, (me) and no one else is in control.

At 71, I feel like I'm still in my 30s. Very strong and very healthy. This is not about bragging, just to share my experience and way of life with the hope that some people can say: "I can do that". That is, if we choose to live on the positive side of life.

Life is short. We have to make the best of whatever life throws at us. I have done this and that. I've been through every imaginable challenge there is. With vigor and hope, I've weathered it all. And here, I'm still breathing, free and healthy.

I can only thank God and all those people that have always been there for me.

Thanks all for your warm wishes and Bill, thank you again. teddybear bouquet heart wings lips

Remember, the key to a good life isn't ALL about money. This doesn't mean we limit our ethical and moral way of producing goods to afford us the comforts it offers because of money.

Remember, too, its ou content and happy disposition at what we have and be happy.

Simplicity is the key. God Bless all.::heartwings:

Love is all there is. Even our enemies deserve to be loved. Having said that, avoid those that want to harm you. Thank you all again.

The Morning After

She may have lost that loving feeling but when Paul Shane saw the re-run of this he must have got that sinking feeling, big time.

How can something seem like a good idea one minute and then, the next, make you want to curl up and die. It happens to me regularly. Most mornings when I wake up and consciousness slowly seeps into my head, the memory of some of the things I've posted on the forum, the night before, comes back to me and I feel like burying my head under the pillow. But then, I go and do it all over again. What's going on? Please tell me I'm not the only one locked into a cycle of self humiliation.

Voy a mi bola

Move along please folks unless you can help me with some Spanish colloquialisms because I suspect my leg is being gently pulled ... not going to say what I've been told they mean in case mischievous types promptly agree. And LOOK at them - I do not want to use these phrases unless I know they really do have the well-known colloquial meaning I'm told they have wow

1. Me cago en la leche - literally, yup, I crap in the milk. Um.
2. Ser la leche! (milk is surprisingly popular, eh?)
3. que chulo - no way I'm telling someone they're a pimp until I know it's cool uh oh
4. Eres el puto amo - or a male whore!
5. No me jodas - sounds potentially extremely useful. Please confirm.
6. Vete a la mierde - ditto.
7. Que te follen - what I'm told sounds useful, the online translator disagrees. help

Estoy flipando - en colores laugh

Any or all of the above, ta ever so very much kiss

Old walls

These walls are built of stone, packed with clay, plastered, painted - and with time, the cracks show. Paint flakes off, plaster crumbles, cracks become missing chunks, and when you pry away a rotten patch, sand cascades down.

Clear away the damaged bits, treat the thirsty wall, fill the damaged bits, plaster over them. Repeat. Year by year by year.

The well-maintained old wall will never look new. It's tempting to spruce it briefly with a quick coat of paint, but take time, get to the root of the problem and treat it properly, and the wall stands proud and firm again.

We’re all walls.

no self confidence

something always buffles me as in how do people start
praising other countries and forget their own..

I do always move from countries to countries for certain reasons but
never do I at any time forget where I come from.
and its funny some chinese look alike faces calling her self an american or african as if the origin country is a curse to mention about...

I think confidence pride is all I call self love
I mean having your culture to praise is health other than praising a foreign
one just simply you want to fit in society and maybe you went to those
other countries for studies or marriage or born there and you now forgot
your origins....

I can't hurt myself to this I am seeing here or in the name of survival for fitness...
@selflove is everything because it comes naturally at no costs.barf doh cheering

From War to Peace..a mind and body journey

From War to Peace
Serving in Rhodesia and other African countries during the wars in the late 70’s and early 80’s the comparison of then and now..

Then: - My eyes saw pain; they saw what no eyes should see, darkness and misery.
Now: - They see life, nature and beauty and beautiful women.

Then: - My ears, they heard the loudness of destruction, they heard the screams.
Now: - They hear music, birds singing, children playing and people laughing.

Then:-My nose, it smelt the nastiness, the acrid cordite and smells I cannot mention.
Now: - I smell the morning air, the coffee, flowers and the scent of a woman’s perfume.

Then:- My hands, they held weapons, they touched death, they touched sadness.
Now: - They touch life, they are tender but they are strong, they can hold hands with a lover, they can wipe tears away, they can still protect those who need protection.

Then: - My heart...My heart just pumped blood, it’s all It was there for.
Now: - I can give love and affection, I can feel my heartbeat faster when I am with someone special, it’s not just pumping blood.

Then: - My Mind and soul...I was just a number, my name taken from me, acceptable as collateral...no more.
Now:-I have a name, I have a personality, I have a soul, I am me...My mind can be shared, best of all I can give love.
