Crabby Old Man

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . . .. . What do you see?
What are you thinking . . . . . When you're looking at me?
A crabby old man . . . . . Not very wise,
Uncertain of habit . . . . . With faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food . . . . . And makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . . . . . 'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . . . . The things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not . . . . .. Lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . . . The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? . . . . . Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse . . . . . You're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am. . . . . . As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, . . . . . As I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .. . . . With a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters . . . . . Who love one another.

A young boy of Sixteen . . . . With wings on his feet..
Dreaming that soon now . . . . . A lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . . . My heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows . . . . .. That I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now . . . . . I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . . . . With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons . . . . . Have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me . . . . . To see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . .. . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future . . . . . Shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing . . . . . Young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . . . And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man . . . . . And nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age . . . .. . Look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles . . . . . Grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone . .. . . Where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . . . . . A young guy still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . My battered heart swells.
I remember the joys . . . . . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . .. . Life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . . . . . Gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . . That nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people . . . . . Open and see.
Not a crabby old man . . . Look closer . . . See ME!!

About this poem:
I read this poem on Facebook and really thought it would be nice to share. It was among the belongings of a old man in a nursing home after he had passed away.

Have A Nice Day

The good the bad, the happy and sad,
the worlds made up of different kinds, a
collection of people with seperate minds,
creating their world as they travel along,
projecting their thoughts and singing their
song,,its unique to them this life they lead,
their future's created as they sow the seed,
and they can decide which way they go,
depending on which seed they sow,
the trick is in knowing the power is within,
decide to create, forget where they've been,
nothings impossible or too far away,
the power is in you to create your day,

Regular or supersize, have it your way!

What do I want more?...

What do I want more?
I called and told me Jesus
I know whom I have believed and I am sure,

What do I want more?
I found life in Him
I was so sad but now I'm happy

What do I want more?
I was tired in the cruel world
I'm Born Again

What do I want more?
I have a real reason to live
I learned to love

What do I want more more?
I am not afraid to die
Because when I die I'll live with Him forever...

JOYOUS GIFT.

A gift, wrapped in paper of brown
Makes one happy, or maybe frown
Tied with coloured, bows and ribbons
Made acceptable, because of trimming

Does this mean, only bright baubles
Attract our eyes, so they may dawdle
On a simple vision, basic perhaps dull
Gift of attraction, proof of inner goal

Lurking, hidden from immediate view
Gasp of joy could follow, if not on cue
Yet so often, we judge by outer cover
When seeking a friend, or even lover

Hidden gems, may hover all around
Watch from shadows, make no sound
So if looking, takes some extra time
It's worth the effort, looking for a sign

Lurking out of sight, special shining light
Lifting sense and emotions, timing right
From a glance, believed couldn't be so
Found true happiness, not expected foe

The waiting

Seems like the waiting is the most unnerving part.
From a check in the mail or waiting on love to enter my heart.
Waiting for that phone call to ring.
With good news about special things.
Yes the waiting seems like a stop and get ready to go.
Maybe it's just me that thinks the waiting goes by so slow.
Yet im not going to give up.
Because sooner or later I'll wont have to wait on good luck.
That is the idea and that is the plan.
Waiting on things can make people unhappy.
Hope this makes sense enough to understand.

My Days Are Numbered

My days are numbered from the beginning.
I live just to die.
So when I disappoint you.
Please don't ask me the reason why.
I'm not perfect far from it.
Don't want to be an angel in your eyes.
I want to ride the winds.
I want my freedom to be alive.

I want to choose my own fate.
I don't want to learn to hate.
I choose to have the innocence of a child.
I want to run this world wild.
So if you've come to tame me.
Let me save you all your time.
You live your life, I will live mine.
And if destiny binds our paths.
And we choose to walk hand and hand.
Our love will hold us together.
For our life here on this land.

But if you choose to let me go.
I will always understand.
I have known from the beginning.
I am reserved for a special type of man.
For I will always have the passion.
Want let no one take it from me.
I will always live life to the fullest.
No matter where I might be.

If I am in life's sorrows.
And tears leak from my eyes.
If anger rises from me.
And makes my body cry.
It still a part of living.
Another path to go down.
I will live it to the fullest.
Knowing happiness will come around.

About this poem:
Be yourself and live life as if there is no tomorrow. In the end it is not how clean my floors were or how much money I had I want to be thinking about. It is how many people I really got to know. And how long I could look at just one flower and still see it as if it was the first time I looked at it.

Good night

Ah, the door wasn't locked by me,
I didn't light candles,
You don't know how, tired,
I didn't decide to lay down.

To watch how strips die away
In a sunset gloom of the wood,
Getting drunk a voice sound,
Similar to yours.

And know that everything is lost,
That life — damned hell!
Oh, I have been sure,
That you will come back.

Let It Go

We all look for answers to the questions we don't know.
Trying to find out in which direction we should go.
Looking for something that we feel we must need.
Trying to find compassion amongst all the greed.
***********************
Living in limbo but not really living at all.
Sharing our heartache on this very wall.
So many lost souls, searching for one thing.
Each one of us hoping some joy it will bring.
**************************
We carry the scars that many others never see.
Memories of a past that we are longing to set free.
Smile for the camera for it can not see deep inside.
Behind the world web, it's so easy to just hide.
**************************
We write what we feel, but do we feel what we write.
Or are we constantley keeping ourselves from the light.
Post pictures and quotes that reflect our past life.
Yet with each little reminder, we are deepening the knife.
***************************
We are so reluctant to just let all our pain go.
This circle of emotions is all that we seem to know.
Quotes reinforcing what we want love to feel like.
Bitchy one liners that tell an ex to go take a hike.
******************************
But now lets be honest, is it really the right way.
If we love unconditionally are these words right to say.
Does forgiveness really allow us to throw dirt.
Or is it more honest to say, yes we still bloody hurt.
*******************************
Letting go is the trick, we all know it is right.
No peace or love will be found during a fight.
To be happy inside, we must let anger go.
Forgive all past pain and let love start to grow.
********************************
Nothing will change what has already been and gone.
It's not them but us, that need to switch life back on.
A decision to smile is one only we ourselves make.
To get angry for their actions, is our biggest mistake.
************************************
Life may not be the way that you or i had planned.
But we must take responsibility for the anger we fanned.
Forgive your mistakes and forgive all they have done.
Then once again you will feel the warmth of the sun.
***********************************
Trust me my friend, these words i myself need to learn.
For i too have a happiness for which i now yearn.
So join me my friends in changing our ways.
Lets, let it all go and have some new happy days.

WALK ON A LONELY BEACH

TO WALK
ON A LONELY BEACH
WHEN I M RESTLESS
AS RESTLESS CAN BE
THE CALM SEA
HAS A COMFORT FOR ME
THE WIND TAKES
GRIP OF ME TOO
AND THOUGH NO ONE
SEES IT AT ALL
THERES PEACE
ON LONELY BEACH
NATURE CATCHES
AROUND ME
LIFTS ME
UP ONCE AGAIN
INSPIRE ME
WHEN I AM LOW
YOU SEEM TO DO
THATS ALL I KNOW
I GO TO THE BEACH
AND FIND IT IS SO

WE ERASE THEM

When its not what we want and you're to blame!
(We erase them)
What we don't understand and to cruel to forgive!
(We erase them)
When we feel we're the judge and jury too!
(We erase them)
Filled with pure anger we must get revenge!
(We erase them)
In a world ruled by hate lets add more joy!
(We erase them)
When we've been hurt its so easy to leave!
(We erase them)
Like a blackboard with chaulk we're all so mean!
(We erase them)
When things don't go smooth and hate feels so right!
(We erase them)
When we disagree with a friends thoughts and actions!
(We erase them)
To unfriend someone for the pain they've caused!
(We erase them)
What a world this would be if everyone hit delete!
(We erase them)
We've turned life into buildings we all can be blocked!
(We earse them)
Love is our keyboards the mouse is your trap!
(We erase them)
You worthless piece of trash get out of my life!
(We erase them)
When we know that we're perfect and they are not!
(We erase them)
When all they do is make the same mistakes!
(We erase them)
When a dear friend turns your life into tears!
(We erase them)
I'll never speak to you or talk to you again!
(We erase them)
I'll have my happiness when you're in your grave!
(We erase them)
Our clocks are ticking we better change our fate!
(We erase them)
Learn to love learn to forgive learn to cherish before
(We erase them)
Oh dear god! could you please do me a favor!
(could you erase them)
I'm very tired now and disgusted as well by years end..
(WE WILL ALL BE ERASED!)
