Teacher

Teacher, teacher you taught me so much
Meeting you was fate
To show me there is much more
Than what was presented
Instead of looking on the outside
You showed me to look within
Everything is not what it seems
Can't just go by on what you see

Teacher, teacher I want to keep learning
You showed me a different way
You showed me what others have failed to find
This is a lesson I will never forget
This has been an AMAZING experience
A unique one, that has me elated
Learned so much is such little time

Teacher - keep on teaching me
I want to learn more
Show me the things that life has in store

Color Me a Memory

Color me a memory
watercolor symphony
every movement painted
with music as its brush

Plant your colors softly
shaping every movement
building schools and churches
cottages and houses

Architecture portrait
of a village i once saw
recreate the scene
filled with evergreen

Fields of blackberries
ripe for the picking
making the pie
bowl remnant licking

Cool night air under the stars
new mown hay
moths round a lamplight
paint for me that sight

birds tear

she is innocent like the stars her heart dancing across the marbled floor her eyes wonder in a daze life is to short to waste but moments make us dream are only hope with no pain she goes to her knees to prey just one bird tear in her eyes thinking of the days gone by as she cries out to the sky one prayer for the life one for the sun and with a bird tear in her eyes one prayer for every one

my selector

When my selector drops that beat and it feels so sweet can't help but skin teet and dance shank dem feet feeling like I'm on heat
This rhythm
Tones beats n melodies
Like download n streaming mysticalised remedies
From that strum on a guitar
To the drum piano and brass of the orchestra
Throw away those thoughts and feelings
Open up unto a world of mystical healings
When da tune sound nice
Ya play it twice
Bump n grind in dat groove n then ya play it thrice
To get that feeling
To feel that meaning
Something resonates inside the soul
Like the muzik activates n captivates
And ya wanna stay inside this state
But wait
Reality kicks in
Take off the headphones n yep gotta deal with things
Deal with people
Seems a chore n a bore
But ya gotta find a way to pay your
Bills
Listening to muzik 24/7 won't cure ya ills
Or will it?
Hmmmmm

The Artist

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
" The Artist "

When an emotion
has found its thought
And the thought
has found its words
Poetry becomes a feeling
unlocking the universe
So it was there at the cursor
that I stared blankly for a while
In search of inspiration
but instead I fell
without a smile
It was at that moment I realized
let the world become the artist
So that I am but a thought
she is creating on a canvas
And with every stroke of her brush
a new thought had found its way
Expressions of firey gold
some dismal and some gray
Stratus clouds roll lazily through blue
reigning yellow beams of light
A descending stairway to the heavens
from a melting hot sunrise
Shining bright above
the mountain tops
Reflecting from the oceans tides
Piercing through the blackened forests
of infinite and hopeless sighs
Looking deeper into the abyss
of chaos and all it's hell inside
Where there is a deeper beauty
that only ones soul can yet describe
It was there she laid her palette down
and stared far into those endless nights
Where emotions have found their words
and poetry has found it's life

About this poem:
A good friend asked me recently to teach her poetry. Rather she was serious or not I really didn't know what to say, so I quoted her something from Robert Frost which I also opened this verse with.
Plutarch said " Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks "
I dont consider myself a poet, just some guy who uses his pen as a paddle and the currents as my guide. What is poetry to you ?.. Cheers cheers

daydreaming........

Standing on the corner of isolated dreams
reflecting on the images of life and what it seems
away from all and that......which does surround
a place i like to visit a place to be found
where thoughts embrace idea's to enthuse an active mind
where thoughts embrace fears negating the sublime
where thoughts can play a tune in any key you say
where thoughts reach their potential for you to obey
a willing mind to share all joy that may procure
or conjure up a stance for sadness to endure
'tis but an awesome place the land of hope and dream
as i sit and ponder and delve into the realm........

Light

early in the moorning
he wakes up
with his smile
announce the new day
to come
if you stare at him
too long
straight away you'll be
kissed''.. and bang
we need him
all the time,not
in fun
all in one place
light is in the ..
Sun.

Dancers

The music plays as the years roll back
And the dancers sway to the beat
Eyes seeing not nowadays
But of days from distant past

Years disappear from faces old
And their bodies younger become
The feet they move where rhythm leads
Across the dance room floor

Faces glowing, hair flying
Bodies move with the beat
Forgotten are the aches and pains
The joints so stiff with years

The more you look, the more you see
The years have drifted back
Left is youth, vitality
The soul shines from within

About this poem:
Went out for dinner on Thursday and watched a live band. A group of old (50's and 60's) rock n rollers took the floor and you could see the years disapearing and they actually started to look younger.

chlorinated.............

Goggles on and feet wet
now is not the time to fret
35 degrees is what i feel
so slip in the water to reveal
a million mirrored reflections
mouthful of bubbles with rejections
a shadow of myself stroking
across the water stoking
thought i would be gasping
but seem to be lasting
as silence comes to fore
a world different to before
just me and the void
no need to be annoyed
can be anywhere i need
my boundaries are freed
i seek the solace in my mind
the tensions left behind
as each breath i take i see
a vivid blue sky above me ...........
