The Truth

Now:
Complete
Modest
Incessant
Cleansed
Forgiven

Then:
Capture
Terror
Carnage
Merciless
Unbreakable

Here:
Haunted
Restless
Fragile
Forsaken
Emptiness

Sage of Rage

Festering
in branches high,
discerning corruptions
proprieties disguised,
she apart, yet never alone
brooded contempt
with blackened eyes
and sooted soul
when but a child of five
“People rarely look up”
so she’d learned to climb.

Hatchin’ haint
in shadow’s caul.
Billowing malice
In enmity’s thrall~
pubescent Realm Cracker
Darkness embraced.
Summoning Thunder
she Willed
and she laid waste.
Her mind her sharpened saber
her tongue
spat judgment’s call
lest someone dare assuage her
she’d learned to appall.

Advancing
by the light
of the bridges
she did burn,
in the company of voices,
she heard
yet would not to learn.
Something reprehensible
into her heart
had crept,
distilling tears to fire
in solitude she wept.
Those she loved
came to avoid her.
Thus, at last,
she learned regret.

In an instant
rare and tender,
a revelation kindled new
compassion’s charity
and forgiveness~
an insight that saw through
the visage of disappointment
and thus gave place
that love would grow.
Her tattered heart
thus shattered
and she learned at last to sow
what she willed
to one day gather
A Sage of Rage
transformed
doth Know.

For Daddy, My Twin

For Daddy, My Twin

How I hated you:
Plotting
my revenge;
Summoning words:
Would-be daggers
I vowed
to plunge
into your
shattered heart.

Again and again
We’d danced
this tragic dance
of mutual
Torment:
You, the Father
I needed
and loved
and feared;
and I
the visage
of your
rejected self:
the love
you had disowned
“unrequited”--
the innocence
you held in scorn
yet secretly
yearned
to recapture.

Oh, I shuddered
and quaked
in bitter
confrontation
of the Lies:
self–deception.
How I hated them
for the way
they kept us apart.
And at only eight
I vowed my first
Holy promise.
“This shall not stand.”
And, as I plotted
your annihilation,
sobbing silent rage
into my pillow,
I felt
your calloused hands
upon my back,
your tears landing
in my hair
and heard
your anguish
and self-reproach
revealing
the torment
secreted
in the very breath
that sustained you.

“Forgive me,”
you sighed.
And separation
Vanished.
Your pain
was mine
and my heart
shattered,
revealing
the love
we had both
tried
and failed
to keep secret
from our True Self.

We can never be
apart
from
what we are
a part
OF.
Now,
these
forgiven eyes
see
only Love
and innocence.

About this poem:
For the One who made of me "The Sage of Rage". Rage is a lie we tell ourselves about the love we keep secret from the world.

I bless the path that led me here and cherish every bruise.

Forgiveness

Love, Truth, Fears, Trust, Pain, Death, Kindness,
Why do you abuse these emotions?
“I love you.”
Why do you ask these words when you don’t mean it?
“I swear I’m telling you the truth!”
Why do you swear? If you are lying?
“I want to chase your fears away.”
Why do you say that? If in the end I’ll fear you in the end?
“Trust me, I want what’s best for you.”
Why did you say that? If now I am too scared to trust myself now.
“I will heal the pain within your heart”
How? If you put it there in the first place?
“I will save you from death.”
How? If you already killed me inside?
“My kindness is so wonderful it’ll make you fly.”
Well now I’m falling. And are you going to help me again?
No…
I see now… I understand…
You never meant to keep the promise.
You never meant to make anyone happy.
You only wanted to use and play with everyone’s emotions.
You said love and you got hate.
You said truth and got lies.
You said fears, you got even more.
You said trust and received none
You said pain and cause pain into others.
You said death and killed the light in our hearts.
You said kindness and we are waiting to see when we’ll get it.
You are nothing or no one to hurt us like that!
But…
Even through the lies and the hurt.
You can still come to me and I’ll still be your friend.
Because there’s something that you forgot …….
Forgiveness.

This is Love: to Fly to Heaven

Sweetly parading you go my soul of soul, go not without me;
life of your friends, enter not the garden without me.
Sky, revolve not without me; moon, shine not without me;
earth travel not without me, and time, go not without me.
With you this world is joyous, and with you that world is joyous;
in this world dwell not without me, and to that world depart not without me.
Vision, know not without me, and tongue, recite not without
me; glance behold not without me, and soul, go not without me.
The night through the moon's light sees its face white; I am
light, you are my moon, go not to heaven without me.
The thorn is secure from the fire in the shelter of the roses
face: you are the rose, I your thorn; go not into the rose garden without me.
I run in the curve of your mallet when your eye is with me;
even so gaze upon me, drive not without me, go not without me.
When, joy, you are companion of the king, drink not without
me; when, watchman, you go to the kings roof, go not without me.
Alas for him who goes on this road without your sign; since
you, O signless one, are my sign, go not without me.
Alas for him who goes on the road without my knowledge;
you are the knowledge of the road for me; O road-knower, go not without me.
Others call you love, I call you the king of love; O you who are
higher than the imagination of this and that, go not without me.

Excuse me

Excuse me if my cries fill the sky.

Excuse me if I flood the plains with tears.

You're my life, and I'm running for my life.

Excuse me if my life drags in the rear

Gentle Whispers

smiles and closes my eyes am going though changes and not sure of a lot, and then a soft gentle whisper comes out of nowhere and tugs at my soul, i love the way life can surprise us still:).. always know that when you least expect it and are floating, someone reaches us....

close my eyes and He seeps into my soul, His essence takes over my mind and body, from rushed and uptight to calm and content, one Man, it still amazes me how, but one Man, can do this to me, He calms me like no one else on this earth has ever been able to do, He knows me and feels how i feel.. He can find me when i am lost inside my thoughts and the dark place that sometimes wants to take me away inside my mind, He reaches inside and holds out His hand and i am able to climb into the light and keep my eyes on His blue gaze like a becon.. He is my Heart, my Soul and the one who i want to spend forever finding myself with, discovering forever in His eyes and being held safe and content, but never confined in His arms.. free to be me, but free to choose to be His and under His control for another lifetime..my Perfect imperfection who is perfect for me..

Jeolousy

She saved my life
because of her
I write the poems i could not write...

Sometimes I write
the equivalent of typing into a trashcan
feeding my own wastebasket...

Sometimes I feel jealousy
perhaps we are all savages inside
I tell myself not to feel jealous...

Jealousy is destructive
it won't make me a better writer
or a better person...

Perhaps I can change my network name
I would change it
to humility/surrender...

But she saved my life
I have faith with the work
regardless of how many people read it...

Heart Of The Night

April 20, 2013

She strolls the lakeshore to welcome dusk,
and gather the calm that evening brings.
Day birds settle as night birds take flight;
the stillness echoes their flapping wings.

A song a lover once sang to her,
has found its way through the waning light.
She can almost feel him touching her,
as the warm breeze stirs, this gentle night.

She won’t admit how alone she feels.
Memories carry her just so far.
How do moon shimmers on the water,
so easily find each wound and scar?

How did the moon come to know so much?
The cloak of darkness, this secret place;
she could hide and believe the silence,
drifting with the stars that filled this space.

THEY are her loving comfort this night,
till her heart can purge all that’s sour.
THEY are a nurturing mother’s song,
and she to them, a sacred flower.

THEY can unleash her unspoken rage,
pulling daggers from beneath her breast.
She must bleed, then find arms of safety,
wherein she can finally know rest.

She walks a journey in sorrow's name.
She, to THEM, a child of the ages.
Dawn guides her back to reality,
light of heart, Spirit blessed; clean new pages.

About this poem:
There is so much meaning in this poem and I wish I could know what others get from it. I've already been asked what I was thinking when I wrote it. As you can tell, many things. My life, my mom, how it is for us alone when night comes. Thoughts?
