Phone Call in the Midst of Night

The ringing of the phone, so strident
Wakes me from my slumber deep
Who could it be at this hour calling
When all should be quiet and asleep

Voice so strange and yet familiar
Like an echo of so long ago
Travelling through time and space
Then it hit me like a mighty blow

This was my friend, my husband and lover
He was the one that captured my soul
Everything I had I freely gave him
Then he was gone, like down a black hole

No sign, no trace, just disappeared
For months I cried, what had I done wrong
Slowly I toughened, slowly I mended
What kills you not makes you strong

I was about to hang up, cut him off
Down the receiver I wanted to shout at him
With hatred and anger I hurled the words
‘Go on, what is this good excuse Jim?’

‘Darling I love you, throughout eternity
Nothing can ever alter this
Everyday my thoughts turn to you
Of you in my arms, your sweet kiss

Darling I know that I left you all alone
Believe me in this matter I had no choice
I know together we will be again
For that day I wait, I will rejoice

Darling I went out to buy you flowers
I just wanted to show you my love
I was cruelly robbed and murdered
Now I watch you from above

Darling tell them where to look
My body is jammed in a drain
Send them to where I’m laying
At the corner of Fourth and Maine

Darling please always remember
You were always the only one for me
I saw your pain and your suffering
Somehow I needed to set you free’

Next thing all I heard was the dial tone
And I realised my face was wet
All the things I’d done and said
I owed Jim an unpayable debt

He was where he said he would be
Found there after I told the police
At the cemetery I laid him to rest
Now we both will find some peace

What's Love

What is love?
The sky is blue and the earth changing’s its color
Thus we tell a woman
I love you but never realize it takes two to tangle
I remember in my memories a man called Shakespeare who said
“If music be the food of love play on”
Every woman like the flow of wealth and the beautiful things the earth provides
That’s not love but lost
Understanding your partner goes a long way
To be happy with your partner goes a long way
To be happy,
In good times and bad times with your partner goes a long way
Love is having something in common with another soul,
Sharing same desires..
Love is a myth

Of Rubber, Men and Machetes 3

The riverboat eased downstream Wallace resting
on sacks of fruit, he cursed his boots as his feet swelled.
Two laconic barefoot fishermen squinting in the evening light
ran lines into the opaque waters.
He could observe the jungle expanse from his post,
verdant and vined, primitive noises and life, it seemed neither friend nor foe.
At least he had met Atkins, who he trusted with jungle lore, and despite his
apparent predilection for opium, he knew Atkins had sway with the village elders, and could muster men to a cause. Tomorrow they would set out across the flats towards the hills, with rifles, supplies, water and quinine.

Diamond rose (about gossip)

Legend has it that in the back hills of a Virginia
county an eerily strange and beautiful black
rose grew amongst jagged rocks..
Further, it never grew in the same area twice yet
always concealed itself within the confines of
rocky terrain
The old timers would rock in their chairs of the
local country store and regale tales of a diamond
this strange rose would produce and whoever was
lucky enough to spot this rose would be privy to
the lustrous dimond nestled within its majestic
petals
It was a glorious campfire tale and the subject of
much poetry and native art
But there is much more to this story than a rare
flower yielding a precious gem
Mike Stone, a grocery store clerk always knew more
than he let on about the legendary rose claimed
some locals
Stones grandfather, a fur trapper, had claimed to be
in possession of the coveted diamond yielded by
the black rose but mysteriously dissappeared several
weeks later
The local law enforcement sent officers along
with the best bloodhounds in the county to scourer the
woods for Stones grandfather..Neither the officers nor
the bloodhounds were ever seen again..so they say
This only intensified the mystery of the Diamond Rose
The locals trudged through the hills in droves thinking
that the possession of this strange diamond would
yield them great riches
Newspaper articles and bar room fights only fueled
the frenzy
Suspicions as to who might be in possession of one
of these diamonds led to town riots with mobs carrying
torches and axes
Suddenly it dawned on the townsmen that Mike Stone
the local store clerk must have the true inside information
'Even his wife, shouted one of the mob sported a diamond
far to expensive for a local town girl '
'What store clerk could afford a diamond that big?
The mob surrounded Stones house with shotguns
and rocks demanding he come out and show them
the diamond
A trigger happy mobster shot Stones barking dog
and a torch was throw through a window burning
Stones house to the ground
When Stone refused to yield the diamond the mob
opened fire and along with his dog, Stone and his
wife lay dead in the dirt..
Weeks later the so-called mysterious Diamond Rose
was not so mysterious after all
Turns out that a delivery boy was taking artificial roses
that had plastic look alike diamonds pinned to their
pedals to be distributed as christmas gifts to the next
towns hospital
Several boxes had torn in his short cut through the
woods and the black fake roses were strewn throughout
the woods
The mystery was revealed
The townsmen had not been enriched by the fantasy of
some other worldly diamond promising untold riches
But by a death blacker that the Diamond Rose
A death called... gossip.

Wondering

Listen to the earth for its trying to tell you
There is too much going on
From wars to drillings an pollution abound
It feels every wrong

I am gentle earth an require the touch
Of a very gentle hand
I can provide everything you need
So do not destruct my land

Work with me in harmony an
Treat me like your queen
No disrespect i will accept
For i can be very mean

You pierce my soul with your goal
I no you mean no harm
But one drill to deep one bomb not weak
Its hard for me to stay calm

Reassess your needs for life as
You will soon see
My delicate shell is eroding away
To expose the fierce me

Once my fury has been sought
It will be hard for thee
To live your life as before
A life of beauty wonder an free

Love has no color

love has no color
when God created man He never said this is the color
when God sent His son He did not choose color
when God sends rains He does not choose any color
His love is divine and He does not choose any color
Why do you and I use color even when loving
God shows us that love has no color

BURIED MEMORIES...

Furnace of colour, lights a night sky
After sweltering day, humidity high
Stillness, smothering dreams
Wait for moon glow, reigning supreme

Moments in time, fast changing surreal
After daylight, sky's twilight peels
Rapidly approach, twinkle of stars
Canopy of night, can travel so far

Time for thoughts, to flutter-seek
Love ones so precious, wish to peek
Glimpse so precious, confirms a smile
Buried memories, as hidden on file

None can remove, what's held in a heart
Whether close together, or far apart
Time healer, emotions over-rule
Inner thoughts, allow us to stand tall

No one knows, why twilight stirs
Thoughts so special...love to lure
Lovers realise, moon and stars
Lift human spirits, from distance so far.

New Beginnings

Dating relationships start with an hello, how are you?,
original thought you think, not much to impress?,
with a little concentration I am sure you can try something new,
I have done it myself and wrote things you could find in a readers digest,

So here we are both see the pics and think ok?,
I look at yours and to myself say, could I honestly like to look at you each day,
Now it is time to pen the words, to make that opening, now what to say?,
thank heavens this site is free, imagine the costs one would have to pay,

Right now is the time to take that chance,
so carefully penned words to open up your mind,
can we kindle that spark of romance?,
everyone starts off being ever so kind,

Gentle words of opening and to create interest,
what do we have in common, apart from the fact you look good,
you also think how much time to invest,
trying hard to get the flow between us as one should,

So at last we have the contact and words flow,
We make mistakes and talk of the things that happened in the past,
I like the way when I read your words they sort of make me glow,
I inform you please, I like you as you are, obviously what went on did not last,

This is a new start for both of us to try,
we do not need to dwell on lost loves and other times,
so lets keep this pure and simple, there is no need to pry,
lets both of us keep to the truth of each other, no more lies,

As time goes one we get to know one another,
slowly time flies, and words flow back and too,
I even know about your sisters and one brother,
our words soon become intense, maybe its time to view,

Lets try Skype you say, so we can have a proper look,
not a problem for me, as who I am is what you see,
you breathe a sigh of relief as the camera reveals your the same as the picture she took,
so now we have our views now is time to see if things can really be.

About this poem:
Again another theme of looking at how we start to view potential partners. Keeping it simple and pure, nothing from past but just the present and the future to concentrate on is they way to be.

sparta

invincible race born to endure the honor to be a spartan warrior..
your swords and shields shinning under the last rising sun..
your bodies emiting a rough oily fragrance of skin and death.
facing you,the persian army,innumerable..
asian archers,egyptian soldiers,
turkman mercenaries,indian horsemen..
in the silence of dawn,
harangues the chief:
-spartan,there are you to kill and to be killed!
you will cross, fearless, the river of infernoes,
and victorious you will enter in the pantheon !-
they are the 300,calm and serene hearts,
offering, the fate, solar celebration and proud duty..
young flesh to the liberty ,final libations,
your bodies are the sowing of future..
all perished,erecting pyramids of heads,
the ennemy treading on their heroic remains..
and beyond the pass,succombed,
all the greece was there!victory o bravehearts!
thanks to the sacrifice of the best of your children !
men of sparta, delighted are your mothers!
you are back home, lying on the shield !
ready for the implacable drill, are the sons,
ready for the labours of entrails, are the daughters..
they were 300,by blood flesh and steel,
they are memory of imortality..
stroller,go to sparta and say...

cool bunny

mad as a hatter in spring
the march hair frolicking
out of the ground
like jack in a box
easter bunny pops up
hopping and skipping
through daisies fair
lillies and daffodils everywhere
easter eggs he is a giving
to little children everywhere
smiles of laughter
smiles of glee
the carrot hanging from his mouth
cool as the air
that comes with a breeze
happy easter
