My story for the day... At the paint shop an old boy was kind of close to me. Leaning on my trolley and asking me what I was planning to paint. Normally a very normal thing. Just making conversation.
But it got me thinking, he was taking more risk than me most likely. Craving normal.
I took a step back, discussed things as normally as I could, but I thought he hasn't accepted the new norrmal.
When there is a dedicated bicycle track parallel to the road, and a cyclist insists on exercising their right to ride on the road slowing down traffic, inevitably they're wearing their favourite tour de France-looking lycra outfit. And being an inconsiderate fool...
Which is why I think your suggesting there is some similarity to social isolating, is wrong. The similarity would be- I can cough and sneeze all over anyone I choose to, and they should keep a safe distance from me or go to the shops earlier etc...
Anyway, be safe and dont set out looking for conflict, most people will be mildly irritated but eventually you'll happen upon someone equally setting out looking for conflict, and come off second best.
I think the cyclist anaolgy shows a flaw in your thinking. Its not hust about how much space motorists should give cyclists, but also cyclists could use a bicycle path where it is available on the same route, and perhaps understand motorists get frustrated driving at 15kph because a lycra clad fool is exercising their right...
Its not what everyone else can do to make your own life easier or prevent you personally from becoming ill, its what we all can do to get on top of it. Certainly motorists should give room, cyclists should not be holding everyone up, its a two way street.
The minority of cyclists that have such a poor attitude, is about the same as the minority of motorists that are abusive or behave dangerously toward cyclists...
I reckon you've left your run a bit late... here, toilet paper was first, then hand sanitiser, then pasta and rice, then unrelated paper products like serviettes and tissues... Ironically, there's still heaps of tinned tuna and tinned fruit etc... I had to buy Italian flour, upon reflection I didnt need to as I dont really cook, but its good to get into the spirit of things.
I had a look a few minutes ago, there's plenty for sale on the internet $3-$5 per roll... Before the fuss, I think I paid $3.50 for a pack of 8 rolls...
I'd say there's a bit of speculating going on, probably by the same types that got so annoyed by Chinese folks buying all the baby formula to send back to China at great profit.
RE: The Isolation Blog
The bar probably just went broke, because they're a bunch of tea drinkers.
