it has rained enough
spilling its torrent
lightning heavy
in the back country
haven
barefoot child
mud running
eels gaze
while the lamps
of the fisherman
shimmer
tomorrow
we will smoke
them whole
my friends
sunned skins
and roll the grubs
over the ashes
feast we may
for this what
the river brings
and the earth
has nurtured

As I often watch videos of animals rescued and finding love ..
after so much hardship and abuse , sometimes too late ,
and sadly had to cross the rainbow above ...
I’m left with the firm conviction that in them you unfailingly
find God’s beauty and true essence ...
And in their eyes, whether suffering
or finding happiness in their existence ...
You always see the truth in their gaze ,
and never have to doubt the meaning of their ways ...
I often wonder ... where’s the unconditional love and undying
committment in us humans ,
that these animals are all able to show ...
Why with all our intellect and mental faculties
all too many seem to not know ...
All the two-faced pretending ,
the lies people end up saying ...
Why cant we just own up for who we really are ...
say what we really feel ...
but most of all, instead of our worse,
the best of ourselves we share and reveal ...
So I laud the people who can see and feel all these too,
have opened their hearts and their lives
for God’s furry, feathered, bare skinned and what have you ...
In number we may not be as much as is needed for all ,
but we do try what we can
so those in need may not fall ...

Please tell me sommelier
Is there in your wine list
Such a wine, where
There is a taste of rain
And taste of sun light,
A bit of childish joy,
A bit of sadness
And aftertaste of youth?
No madam, I regret ,
We don't have such bouquet,
The only i can offer you
Is vodka

Take my hand and follow me
Lets get together down this steep path
There is so much comfort knowing you
Following in your foot steps
Life is more than just finding a direction
Calculating numbers or doing the math
It is exploring the unknown where
Your presence is everywhere
Enveloping me with encouragement
Understanding yourself in my shoes
Not some harsh criticism ever cast
But a tender and generous word or two
And always a helping hand

First summer rain.
I open and then
I fold up my umbrella.
…………
First one, then another
Leaf trembles
On the apple tree
………
You smile.
Far away the bird takes off
From the slow ice floe

Through your eyes
I see the beauty of the sunrise
Through your mind
you teach me to be kind
Through your ears I take the time to listen to the music often not heard to dispel my fears
Through your voice I learn your truth that I may rejoice
Through your touch I am comforted
That I may stop leaning on a crutch
Through your soul I am lifted out of a hole
Through your hand I can take a stand
Through your heart I feel we will never part
Through your truth I am free from every lie I believed hence, no longer decieved
Through your life
in spite of all the strife
I try to learn your ways
even if everything I see seems all in a haze
Through your love I hear the call of the dove

The stillness of cloud
A breathless silence of wind
Warmth of winter sun
A moth in night light
A gecko’s dinner tonight
Through the window pane
Lazy are the days
Awaiting the suns warm rays
Upon gazebo
