A Fairy Tale

Before this moment;
Seconds felt like minutes,
Minutes like hours,
Hours like days,
Days like weeks,
Weeks like months,
Months like years,
And I waited for what
Seemed like an eternity for
This moment.

It is here this moment
And I am beside myself,
Never in my life have I been,
So overwhelmed with emotion,
Never more uncertain, never more sure,
This is fear undone, hope unbound,
Joy unspeakable and love unparalleled,
At long last I am yours and you are mine,
And I have loved you but never more than at,
This moment

After this moment;
when years seem like months,
Months like weeks,
Weeks like days,
Days like hours,
Hours like minutes,
And minutes like seconds,
We will reflect on how quickly time passes,
And how we would give anything to relive,
This moment.

Remembering the Irish Famine !

Old lichen mottled headstones
Mark the graves of women and men,
Whose genocide sparked Ireland's
Freedom flame,
In their pallid hands
were shovels,
No schooling for a pen,
Fuelled by starving bellies
bow in shame.
Poverty stricken darkened days
of cruel and rampant blight,
The stench of rotten spuds
rose from the clay,
Cold families around a bleak turf fire
another hungry night,
Gaunt faces like potatoes
in decay.
A million sailed from homeland shores
Like wild absconding slaves,
In agony they fled to find relief,
And countless died on coffin ships
Then laid in watery graves,
Consumed by vile disease
And woeful grief.
But memory fades as time erodes
And youth won't recollect,
An hegemonic crown
That gorged on Irish grain,
Our ancestors the starving dead
Oppressed to genuflect,
Interred beneath cold seething clods,
Forgotten not their pain !

About this poem:
In 1845 more than 1 million people died
in Ireland from starvation when blight disease wiped out the potatoe crop. At the time Ireland was under British rule and suffered much oppression. To the present day the population hasn't recovered.

We Operate In Silence

A-Lonely-Bird-Is-Chirping
As-We-Struggle-To-Our-Knees->
A New Day Is Beginning
To Follow Or To Lead?

We Operate In Silence
But The Screams Can Still Be Heard
The Silence Is Still Ringing
Sweet-Music That Seems Absurd

Statements Start 'A-Flowin'->
Our Thoughts Create Some Words
We Throw Our Hearts 'n Smileys
Or-'Click'-Like-And-Let-It-Go->

We May Google In An Answer
Or Scroll Both To And Fro
Maybe We'll Get-a-Picture
Of Someone That We Know

We Live Our Lives Through Face-Book
I See It Every-Day,
The-Computer-Is-a-Calling->
Is This The Modern-Way?

The Truth Takes So-Much Courage
We Have Our Fans Is So
We'll Pine Away The Hours
Which-Way Are We To Go?

looney

I Could be a couple shades shy of a
colorful palette,
A few grapes short of a full fruit salad,
I dig in my picnic basket,
But there's no sandwich,
Perhaps a posse of people less
than a populated planet,
Playing the game but don't know the score,
Excuse me sir..,
this elevator doesn't go
all the way to the top floor,
Not the sharpest tool in the shed
or knife in the drawer,
Like the lights are on ,
but no one answers the door,
Bloody bats in the belfry,
Some screws are loose,
The ice tray is missing a few ice cubes,
My Happy Meal has half its fries,
Seems all the stars aren't in my sky,
Or just one star is missing from my trek,
Heck ,I guess I'm not playing with a full deck...

paradise dream

kidnapping inside
this mind
you have
the key
to open
deep chambers
as you honey
bee sweetly
walk in

opening dreams
to another world
holding hands
together souls
uniting begins
dancing playing
loves soft music
paints destiny

thoughts coloring beauty
began racing dreams
spirit of reality
a tune singing
who just
grabs and kisses
you deeply
with all
the love
inside this
soft tender heart

exploding fireworks
inside the mind
rising waves
unfolding petals
touching feelings
timeless in
one scent essence
from out
of a spring ocean

waves of emotions
a breeze
tenderly blowing
ever so softly
gently i
am laying
myself your
magic carpet
upon the ground

sweeping kissing
your feet darling
i will always
smile as we
take each step
golden together
you and i

landing on
a treasure
one gem
holding strong
bathing warmly
within loves paradise

yesterday's sorrow

sometimes I'm amazed
at how stale and stubborn
I have become
and even out of sync with time
but then since you left
I don't have any reason
to keep track of moment
that comes and goes

I din't even know
summer is gone
fall, too, is now buried
deep in the snow
somehow I am anticipating
the new birth of tomorrow
but here I am still nursing
in my yesterday's sorrow

I am never wishing
that our past would come back
hell no!
it's just that I wish
the wound heals
and my mind forgets
all these pains and heartaches

and I will be in sync
with the world and time
again..like it used to be
before I met you.

Creature

Embedded image from another site

Calamity is a mistress
Ignoring circumvention of consequence
Comfortablity feeds the monster
Eating from ignorance
Begin seroquelling me with the cliches
Then I'll smile and just pretend
To listen as I watch your lips move
Not ever hearing a word you said
While I draw a verbal hangman
Of a psychiatrist in a noose
Crawling from the hallows of my skin
Yet never walked a mile in my shoes
Because habit is just a creature
But an angel is my best friend
Slowly I began killing my demons
In a quiet game of Russian roulette
So take another shot of your whiskey
Freeing the ghost that I neglect
Still hypnotized by watching your lips move
Lost inside of thoughts I'll soon forget
Nullifying the mystery in madness
I don't care where or how it ends
Just give the pharmacy keys to the pretty nurse
And feed me the pills that clear my head

drop dead georgeous

I caressed the words in my heart
through the blood running through my veins
with the butterflies you leave
fluttering in my heart to you
radiant beauty
stars above
your soul shines
I have been in hell
surely heaven
through those beautiful eyes
the key to your soul
I all but caress your heart
drop dead georgeous
I call you
my hands on your knees
I fall at your feat
beautiful your soul
the dagger to the heart
I would die in your arms
drop dead georgeous

my awakening

half haunting a full moon
staring at it through eyes of half light
pale ashen with cold
everything seems a distant horizon
grey shadows of life
a glimmer of hope
the face of desparate times
my soul seeks peace
far of in a distant planet
like a wolf alone
lost in my own wilderness
my spirit speaks
was it written in the stars
alone with distant memories
my unwritten future
finding the path to my soul
to comfort my heart
in its time of need
to look again
the moon smiling
in wishing a smile on my face
i see you smiling
my life is for living
it was meant to be
as the glass on my eyes
glistens with sadness
feeling the cold run down my face
memories of happiness
memories of hurt and sadness
in the night sky
a universe of answers
i look forward to awakening
the dawning of light
a beautiful present this night
the dawning of spring
bringing with it new beginnings

Probing for Intelligence

Embedded image from another site

We sent a golden record on a voyage deep into outer space
But still the nearest star is forty thousand light years away
And on this record are some sounds from the planet earth
From falling rain and crashing waves, to the songs of whales and birds
Pieces of our culture, arts and science, Bach and Beethoven
Mathematical diagrams, and a naked couples silhouette are on this token
Insects and mother nature with a map that even leads the way
To the blue populated planet in the middle of the milky way
In fiftysix different languages we sent a message saying hello
Nasa gathered all this information and sent it in this probe
A time capsule some may call as drifts further into the deep
Of nothing beyond infinity as we wonder who it will reach
We told them of our strengths and goals, our aspirations and our dreams
A peaceful civilization, but really we were only lying through our teeth
We didnt send them the sounds of bombs or deaths from endless wars destruction
The image of poverty and pollution, nor greedy desires for total domination
Just a colorful painted picture of what we hope and want to be
Hopefully these beings are a peaceful bunch and we can live together in harmony
But if we have already made contact then with good reason the governments would want to lie
Do you remember Orson Welles broadcast when people started running for their lives
Besides we can barely communicate with our own families much less another race
Just think of how you killed the spider that was an alien on your leg
Or the man who's treated different because of the color of his skin
Or the one thats looked at as an enemy because of his foreign religion
All someone would have to ask is do you believe in God and is He worth fighting for
If they answer no then history repeats itself and we have an interstellar war
But what if we make contact with a race something like the Borg
"Resistance is futile" and they step on us like cockroaches on the floor
So my question is do we really want to send an invitation deep into unknown
Or do we wait silent and still and let universal nature take its coarse

About this poem:
Still nerding it , The Voyager spacecraft was launched in 1977 and on this probe NASA opted to give its journey more purpose by creating an electroplated gold record of our planet by a committee chaired by Carl Sagan of Cornell University. Several things are on this record more then the few I mentioned in the poem. And a message from the president of the time that says in his voice
"This is a present from a small, distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours." — U.S. President Jimmy Carter

Voyager 1 will be within 1.6 light years of the star Gliese 445, currently in the constellation Camelopardalis, in about 40,000 years. Where is it now? In March 2012, Voyager 1 was over 17.9 billion km from the Sun and traveling at a speed of 3.6 AU per year and out of the eleven equipment carried on Voyager 1, five of them still work, and continue to send back data today. NASA plans to shut down the voyager spacecraft completely in 2025. After that, it will continue on its course for an eternity.

I wonder how would we react to this event. Are we ready to meet an advanced race of beings without panic or starting a war and if they did come would they be peaceful because if not I believe it would be like bringing spears to a nuclear fight.

The Orson Welles War of the World 1938 broadcast, kinda long but well orchestrated. For those that do not know , Orson orchestrated a radio broadcast complete with program interruptions, special bulletin reports that martians have entered our planets atmosphere and people lost their minds and started quite a pandemic, so really are we any different now from then. Maybe.....
